How can I get it to buff my pet with Deadlock Jaws?
I like to have the extra chance of my pet being able to slow the mobs.
It seems way more beneficial to me than a small dmg boost from other procs.

you could block petspirit and then we wouldn't try and overwrite if you buffed it manually. but we don't currently automatically apply petjaws line

PetSpirit -- This is the stun version of the pet proc line - we use this over the other 2 options
PetBite -- Unused since we use the Spirit Line for the stun proc
PetJaws -- Unused since we use the Spirit Line for the stun proc

have you checked that you'd have a net benefit from the slow proc vs the stun proc? you might be surprised.

frankly, i wish dbg would just back level sha's AA for the 90-100 gap

you would be likely better off to just byos and memorize your slow spell

A. Level 90 you get your first Maelstrom spell and you don't get Sha's Reprisal AA until 100, so you have a gap until you get that AA. You can BYOS or BYOS Custom if you want to manually memorize your slow spell until you get that AA.

no. byos uses the spells the plugin says it uses - you can't just willy nilly memorize random stuff

It sounds like an issue related to personas and swapping. You used to have to do a /reloadui for all sorts of things to initialize properly (no, not just for xml related windows). That sounds exactly like this.

If you unload and reload the plugin and settings are correct - it is that.

If they're not make sure you check your av/sync to ensure no file locking.

Also, hard no on locking your ini or manually editing it, almost certainly nothing to do with that.

Not sure there is an EQ "on persona swapping" to call us loading the ini, but I'll check

Well and good, Beastlord is doing solid DPS (disregard Rk. II of Batter here - upgraded after fighting ...).

Curiously, when looking at the INFO tab, I see the following:



Note that the Level 114 Disc Reflexive Riving is listed, but there is no listing for the Level 114 Disc Batter -- even though it is being used often by the Beastlord plugin even at level 125.

This does not appear to affect the actual gameplay, but it did lead me to not upgrade Level 114 Batter until I started to look more closely at the Plugin Output -- as I basically overlooked the Disc on this toon.

Again, this is not impacting how the Beastlord plays -- very happy with that :-) -- but thought I'd point it out.

You're using batter and not a later disc because either a: you're missing it or b: you're missing AAs as mentioned in the FAQ.

But your post is because it isn't on the disc/spells tab? I'll take a look.

Q. Why is it using Maul/Mangle/Batter over Batter/Wallop?
A. We have logic in mq2bst to handle what rank of your synergy AA line you have. If you don't have high enough Synergy it is going to use the lower ability to get that sweet sweet synergy proc.

Since I do not often play a Beastlord (and don't know too much about the class), and with your explanation, I think I understand now what I overlooked.

1. At level 125, I do NOT have the "Primalist's Synergy" maxed -- it is currently at 12/14. With that, the text indicates that the passive ability will work on Batter, and not on the higher versions -- exactly as you say in the FAQ.

that's correct. the wallop is the spell that we care about and report that we have - but when we go to use wallop we check your primalist synergy and go "well, let's use this older one since our AA doesn't match"
for many/most classes i'd suggest maxing your extra spell gems and your class synergy as the first AAs you max out

With the new test build the mq2bst plugin is turning autoskill Round Kick on and off non stop while in combat. I verified it with a couple other people running it and they are getting the same thing. Thanks for all the work getting this stuff going for the new expansion, I know there was a lot of changes and work to be done!

Then this sounds like an illusion that doesn't shrink properly.

We only try to "single shrink" stuff to under 2.04 (not even 1.88) because eq is inconsistent.

You can even bug out pets and make them larger with a shrink spell under certain circumstances.

I would avoid using that illusion

Having a minor issue not sure if this is the right spot but it happens when mqbst is on. You're in manual mode. It won't auto target back to mobs, cause manual mode.

Because what is happening here is your casting feralgia, which gives you a growl, then you're overwriting it with growl. since it says "does this spell overwrite what I have and am missing it".

we only put growl in slot 9 if UseSwarmPet is turned off - if UseSwarmPet is turned on, then we put feralgia in that slot, and if you don't have Feralgia yet, then we put SwarmPetMoon there just as an fyi

the reason this is important is because determining how you got there, will help prevent you from doing similar in the future

make sure to check the FAQs - if mq/eq report that you're missing a spell and it stacks, we're gonna cast --- some spells eq/mq report incorrect.

you will want to add any spell you don't want to blocked spells as mentioned in the FAQ/vids

Q. Bst is chain casting something?
A. There are a few lower lvl / mid level buffs that eq/mq reports stack that do not, or will chain overwrite other buffs and you get into a buffing contest with another toon. You either have this situation or some other issues. I would suggest checking for the red error text that eq gives you to tell you WHY it didn't successfully take hold and then go from there. You can block anything you don't want cast.

This is a built-in everquest feature - right click on the buff and "add this spell to list of blocked spells" or go through the eq menu -> character -> blocked buffs.

EQ Menu -> Character -> Blocked Buffs
EQ Menu -> Character -> Blocked Pet Buffs (to add to anyone's pet blocked spells)

/blockspell add me id
/blockspell add pet id

This is particularly a problem with the focus line, especially if you have a large level gap between the bst and your cleric (particularly if your bst is lower than the cleric) - you can run into issues where mq/eq says that it will stack, but then your armor of line will not actually allow it.


Make sure you understand focus spells cast sub spells, you need to block those sub spells specifically by rank.

Q. I don't want the plugin to cast xyz buff on a toon.
A. Any buff you don't want cast upon someone, you would just have that character add it to their blocked buffs.
EQ Menu -> Character -> Blocked Buffs
EQ Menu -> Character -> Blocked Pet Buffs (to add to anyone's pet blocked spells)

no sorry about that - that won't be an option. your solution is correct - if your raid is disallowing you from having your pet, you'll want to byos and not have your pet that way - otherwise we're 1000% going to keep using your pet.

BST has the haste box ticked, and he is casting the pet buff with the group haste combo...then over-writing it with celerity...then casting the pet buff combo again, which of course over-writes celerity. Can stop it by unticking the box of course, but this should not be default behavior.

can't replicate this on a 85 heroic bst - I'm guessing that the whole 85 heroic thing wasn't really important to this post and you're now some level that is not 85

in the meantime you can just block one of the spells you don't want on whomever is getting the buff battle

Is there a way to make the bst immediately dot a named with all 3 available dots as the first spells it uses? I have DotHpNamed set to 100 and DotManaMin set to 50 (he's always over that).. From what I see in testing it uses 1 dot at 100% hp then it won't use the other two.
Would there be anything you could advise I do or that not possible with the design?
I appreciate the help as always.

The reason we can't do our dot as our first spell because if you notice when you target a mob your mobs buffs don't immediately populate (this is how eq works --- go to guild lobby and put some debuffs on a dummy - target yourself, then target the dummy again and watch for the delay before you see the dots populate)

So if the buffs aren't populated we lie and say it has whatever dot we're trying to put on it that way we're not wasting Mana doing something that we already did because we can't for sure know that they do not

but your issue here is you are saying "dot dot the mob if it is named and below 100 health". so it is dotting until the mob is below the health you have asked it to stop dotting at

the default is "5" for DotHpNamed - which says "don't recast dots if below 5 mob health on a named mob (i turn this to 0 for raids, but leave 5 for regular grouping)

Found a niche bug or at least unexpected behavior with using the 14th spell gem for alliance or mending. This is at 125 will all current spells/tomes.

Steps to reproduce:
1: Turn off UseAlliance and UseMending
2: Turn on UseAlliance and let it mem Venomous Covariance in gem 13.
3: Manually load Thornhost's Mending in gem 14 and then turn on UseMending.

Now the 7th gem only swaps out for buffing purposes but will not remem Fevered Endemic after buffing is done. If you unmem/clear the gem completely manually it will stay unused until it needs to buff again or you uncheck UseMending or UseAlliance.

This same behavior can be seen in the reverse order if you turn UseAlliance and Mending off then turn on UseMending first then manually mem Venomous Covariance in gem 14 and turn on UseAlliance after.

well yeah - you're manually doing stuff and fucking up with the plugin determining what it needs where it needs it.
I'll think about adding some stuff to prevent people from doing that

none of those other steps are required for that - you could pause, manually memorize mending in gem 14, and then unpause, and you wouldn't put anything back in any of the gems that we use for mending because you already have it memorized

Gotcha. I was just trying to keep mending and alliance memmed and on while keeping Endemic in use as well. I see what you are saying. I fixed it now by letting it keep Mending in gem 7 and putting Endemic in 14. Seems to work much better and as expected. Don't know why I didn't think of that before since Mending normally goes in 7. Sorry about that.
