These terms cover the RedGuides website and everything attached to it, including the forum, the member store, and the API. By using any of it, you agree to them. "We" and "RedGuides" mean RedGuides LLC. "You" means you.
Breaking these rules can get you a warning, a suspension, or a ban. If you think a moderator got it wrong, contact us.
The rest of this page is the legal side.
Software available through RedGuides, open-source or not, is released under its author's license, and that license governs your use of it, not these terms. Very Vanilla is released under MacroQuest's license. RedGuides is not affiliated with or endorsed by Daybreak Game Company, and EverQuest is its owner's trademark.
You must be at least 18 years old to register. And if you're under 50 we'd be surprised.
By registering you confirm that you're 18 or older and that nothing in your local law stops you from using a site like this.
Some downloads, forums, and features need a paid membership.
Everything you download from RedGuides, whether we host it or link to it, is provided as is.
You keep the copyright to what you post.
You give us a non-exclusive, perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, copy, and distribute your content on RedGuides and through our API, for running RedGuides only. Deleted content may remain in quotes, replies, and backups, and if you close your account your posts may stay up under an anonymised name.
Only upload a resource if you have the right to share it under the license you attach.
Selling through RedGuides. Members may sell their own work here. We don't take a cut and aren't a party to the sale. A paid resource is bought from its seller under the seller's license, and support and refunds come from the seller. Sellers are responsible for having the rights to what they sell. All resources must follow the resource rules, and under them we may remove a resource, stop a member selling, or make an unmaintained paid resource free.
Don't post anything illegal, infringing, spammy, or containing someone else's private information, and don't upload game client files. Moderators can edit, move, hide, or delete anything for any reason. We remove other people's posts on request only where the law requires it.
Members' posts are their own views, not ours, and we can't review everything before it goes up.
Copyright complaints. Send copyright notices to [email protected]. We remove material on a valid notice, tell the member who posted it, and accept counter-notices. Repeat infringers lose their accounts.
Our privacy policy and cookie notice cover how we handle your data.
To the fullest extent the law allows, RedGuides and everything on it is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
To the fullest extent the law allows, RedGuides LLC and its owners, staff, and volunteers aren't liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss from your use of the site or anything you got from it, including lost data, accounts, characters, time, or money. Our total liability to you is capped at what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or 20 US dollars if you paid nothing.
If someone brings a claim against us over something you posted or did here, you'll cover our reasonable costs, including attorneys' fees.
You can close your account by contacting us. Closing it doesn't cancel a subscription, and cancelling doesn't close the account.
We can suspend or close your account, or restrict any part of the site, at any time and without notice, if you break these terms or to protect the community. An account closed for breaking the rules isn't refunded beyond the 14-day window in section 4.
Sections 6, 8, and 10 keep applying after your account is gone.
Changes. The date at the top marks the current version. We'll give notice on the site or by email before a change to billing or your content rights takes effect. Using RedGuides afterwards means you accept it.
Law. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, and any dispute goes to the state or federal courts located in Illinois, unless your local consumer law gives you something better.
Contact. Email [email protected] or use the contact form.
The whole deal. These terms, the rules above, the resource rules, and the privacy policy are the whole agreement between you and RedGuides. If RedGuides LLC changes hands, they go to the new owner. If any part is unenforceable, the rest still stands.
