I posted some meme the other about MMMBop and Stairway to heaven and it got me thinking about how old EQ is and how that compares

Original star wars trilogy
Atari 2600
Disney World

what other "EQ Is Older than ___ was when Everquest came out can you think of?

2001 the film showed us that neanderthal man McQuaid, great grandfather x 10000 of Brad, came up with the idea of Bone Chips when he smacked a animal bone on the stone. In triumph of the idea of an unending supply of diversion, he called this a game and threw the bone high into the air where it traveled through time and space until Everquest was more developed from his original idea.

Anything 1972 to 1999 is fair game?

EverQuest is older than the gift shop sensation "Pet Rock" was when EQ came out

edit: lol just read the wiki

A24 produced an official licensed Pet Rock as a tie-in for the film Everything Everywhere All at Once. This version of the Pet Rock has a pair of googly eyes attached in reference to a scene from that film. Also included are the straw bedding and instructions of the original, and a new version of the ventilated box printed with scenery from the film.

Everquest and my high school diploma are the same age.

However, to answer your question:
The Internet (1973 or 1989 depending on how you define the internet)
The Personal Computer (1977)
Mobile Phones (1973)
Post-It Notes (1974)
ET (1982)
ALF (1986)
The Sony Walkman (1979)
Me (1981)

It is also older than Tupac (25), Kurt Cobain (27), and (almost) the World Trade Center (28) will ever be
