Hail Norrathians! I hope 2026 is treating you well and continues to do so throughout the rest of the year. We have surpassed another milestone for EverQuest as we recently celebrated our 27th anniversary! It certainly doesn’t seem that long already, but time flies when you’re having fun, as the saying goes.

First, let me remind everyone that a plethora of items, including the 27th Anniversary Key Art Poster, were added to the Darkpaw Swag Store, and we are far from finished. Speaking of the Anniversary, you can still get this year’s anniversary items just for logging in! The Maestro’s Wand is free for all your characters that you log in. The Metamorph: Chromatic Bird is free per logged-in character for All Access Members. Members also get a free level 115 Heroic Character as well as a Goblet of Adventure II. Hurry in and grab yours as they will no longer be available after April 20, 2026 at 11:00 p.m. PT.

Coming in May, we will have all-new level-up potions called Heroic Experience Draughts. Upon use, they will set the character to a specific level depending on which level potion is used. It’s like a Heroic Character without the gear, spells, items, or AAs. More to come on those as they are released.

And now, onto the real reason you all have read this far…

The first Time-Locked Progression Server of 2026, Frostreaver, will be launching on May 27, 2026 at 12:00 P.M. PT. This server is going to have a cornucopia of options, which the community voted on in January. If you have not seen the outcome of the vote, or just want a refresher on what this server’s ruleset will be, then read up on it here.

Our second TLP this year will include the new Personal Loot system, whose goal is to encourage playing cooperatively with others by distributing loot directly to members of the group or raid that earns credit for killing an NPC. The more players in a group, the more loot that each player will earn. We'll have more information to share, as well as a sneak peek on the Test server, as we get closer to Lethar's launch later this year.

Now, a little tidbit into what’s going on with this year’s expansion. Mithaniel Marr and Rallos Zek remain entrenched in negotiations to end their conflict, yet the Truthbringer's focus falters. A growing unease pulls at him, distracting him from the weighty negotiations. Should his worries be justified, the champions of Norrath will soon be called upon.

AA come with auto grant so it dont matter if its heroic or not. the gear def dont matter unless its a 115 which i heard they upgraded it with better gear/augs

The non-prestige augs were the only good thing with 115 heroic. I was honestly shocked when I saw they had added non-prestige augs on the recent heroic 115. Gear was meh. Anniversary tower gear is better for a free to play toon. I don't see why there can't be an option to just use the exp potion to pop to 115 if you are planning to use prestige gear. It is a waste of time to have to delete all that heroic gear since you can't donate for tribute and it isn't worth keeping.

And personal loot... I see.... ya..... still going to hard pass. Would be interesting to see how the economy of that server looks after some time.

well looks like they going back to the 2 expansions per story kinda thing like they did with the reboots of Velious and Luclin.

I am wondering if this is a way to build in DKP of some sort? Will it be similar to raid currency?

Also, the level potions seem like a cash grab to me as well.
