IRL - What zone do you never get tired of revisiting?

For me it is east commons. It was the first zone I went into when I left Freeport at 5th level. I zoned in, and all the noise, all the mobs. The tunnel was used as the place to go and sell things. So /auction was always going with all the things. I would hunt the orcs on one side, and the undead on the other. Die alot. But always the EC tunnel /auctions. It was like a mystical, magical ride. I found a guide on how monks could FD flop and farm the named goblins in Solusek's Eye. So I went in, died alot, but figured out what the guide was talking about. I'd take 5 or 8 drops out at a time, run to the EC tunnel and find a spot along the wall and start auctioning off my newly looted items for 200-400pp each. I was so surprised that they sold. Ever since then, I get nostalgic when I'm running through east commons, remembering the time I sold an item and got 10k plat. And then the slow, very slow walk (encumbrance) to freeport, and then the bank so I could deposit it.

I cant tell you which one it is cause i get sick of old stuff eventually and have to take a break, but I can tell you which one it isnt. It ISNT Stratos.

I agree with tinybubbles. East commons. I'll still go there just to kill the griffin. I think I'm still short a hundred or two too break even.

I always enjoyed the ones that made me want to punch myself in the nads... u know... lower fay ... oasis... stuff like that. with completely overpowered high level monsters that wiped their butt with your toon. sometimes delevelled you before they made it so u didnt have to corpse run naked ( before u learned to bank spare armor ), or possibly delevelled you 4 or 5 levels before u found help by a kind lv 60 :)happy times. this game got me hooked watching my 2 best friends lose a ton of levels in lower fay lmao.. running naked back.. over and over and over and over... hahahahahahahah. i was instantly hooked seeing how triggered and angry they were.

yes!

I spent a ton of time in Sol B, but probably any zone in Faydwer would have to take the win on this. I primarily made elves and dwarves, so the whole continent was my stomping ground.

I enjoy doing a lap from Qeynos through the Karanas for the music. I like Highpass because it still feels mysterious after all these years.

Even though there isn't much to do there other than put Fippy down again I always enjoy a sonyeQ revisit, guess it's kind of like going home.

I was a kunark baby and always enjoyed going back to dreadlands, karnors castle and sebilis from time to time.

I miss the old trains slaughtering newbs near the zone ins!

Nothing too special about the zone itself, but I have good memories of camping treants and aviaks in South Karana with my first EQ friends.

I also really like the zone music for Velks.

I loved MM and Unrest. You always had a good train to zone and plenty of corpses scattered about.

Plane of Fire - Always fun to go kill a few fire genies sitting around the table.

North Ro. Where is that random roaming Sand Giant at? Bastard killed my toons so much back in the day. :argh:

City of Mist for me. Enjoyed it at release either on my monk pulling it, or my cleric just sitting for hours on end catching up with friends in chat.

i love going to Paladual caverns or however you spell it lol miss the good ole days when it was always loaded with different grps and having to do camp checks

Anyone else walk into an old world zone and proclaim out loud "Surprise Muthafuckers!". And just lay waste to the zone.

South Karana

The centaur village where an ogre warrior far from home could sell loot
The scary cyclops that you can hear approaching when you have no SoW
The hermit homestead and music that kicks in as you approach
The chance to see the mythical quillmane.
The aviac city - I looted a black pearl from an avocet and quadrupled my net worth.
Hunting Tree ents for a massive 3 plat drop.

The random rare named like Cracktusk, Marik Clubthorn, Synger Foxfyre, etc.

Questing the Testament of Vanear (+10 wis! ) brought me through all those zones at level 13. Timing the pathers and killing Dyllan Starshine in Highpass was quite harrowing haha.

Highpass seemed like a real mountain village - you know you drive up the long twisting road and there are shops inside with ponds to fish in and guards standing around like local sheriff.

Everfrost seemed like the hills outside of that mountain since they are just a long expanse of snow and it seemed to take forever back in the day to get to one side or the other.

I think that is why I get lost so easily in the game. I assign zones to places I have visited in real life but which are on a different map than what is on EQ lol.

EC and the /auction always holds a dear spot for me.
Friend who played with me back then had some severe back/medical issues so when the pain was too much to actually play, he’d park in EC and play the Market.
If it was during the times I was playing we’d call each other and talk via speaker phone and I’d sit next to him in game while he sat there in pain waiting for his drugs to do something and we’d watch what people were buying and selling.

No longer have that friend but each time in run through the EC Tunnel I smile at the hours we spent just hanging out and talking with each other.

Not a zone per se, but Project Lazarus has made lategame "hardcore" versions of places like runnyeye (I remember farming/selling BAM/BABS on FV damn near 25 years ago, when they added focus effects)!
I love going back there and getting my ass handed to me as wondering goblins keep piling on and eventually the Janitor comes by and finishes cleaning my group up.

They have also done a lot of other old haunts like solb, najena, etc and recently released a high difficulty version of charasis (which anyone that has ever done SK/NEC things should know by heart lol)

Edit: I love any time quests take me back to the cities. It's always nostalgia. Qeynos Catacombs?!?? So awesome.
