100% asking this question with zero negativity in mind so hopefully it is received that way because I 1000% get that writing code is an art (one which I fail at miserably) and those good at it make a good earning....

Why would one buy this over using kissassist and tweeking it? Does this simply do a much better job due to the scrutiny and effort put into it? Example: well configured KA rogue ini compared to this would result in what % of additional DPS?

the plugins are all available with your VV lvl 2 on test server - test copy some toons over and give it a whirl

I will say that these plugins are 100% worth buying for several reasons.

  1. No set up required. I am sooo tired of updating my KA profiles, and if I make new characters or make new classes, I literally spend several hours doing .ini tweaks, and if you level up and get new spells/skills, you're spending more time updating, making sure you didn't forget something. You're updating your spell sets in game, DPS/Heal/etc sections in the .ini, etc. It's relentless. Running something like MQ2Rogue means you don't need to include in the DPS, AE and Burn sections, all of the discs & abilities, deciding which ones should be burns, etc. This is pretty much all figured out for you, and all you have to do is add clicky items to various scenarios. If you want to shoot the magical bunny out whenever it's ready or anytime you are burning a named, it's a 3-second setup.
  2. MQ2___ Plugins are extremely fast. I literally have problems with my MQ2Monk pulling and my tank is using KissAssist, because the monk is off pulling another mob when the corpse of the previous mob is still falling to the floor. KA has slow delays, and my KA toons end up out of position if my monk is pulling. One day all classes will be available within the CWTN MQ2 class ecosphere. My Rogue and Monk are lightning quick to respond to changes in roles, melee on mobs, and they STFU when they are invis and don't go trying to buff while we're moving across a zone. My KA toons will literally wipe my group if I don't pause the macro before I invis up and move across a zone.
  3. Plugin. These are plugins, not macros. THAT MEANS you can use a macro while using these plugins. For example, on my MQ2___ characters, I am constantly running Overseer Automation while in combat. I mean, I don't even pay attention to my melee guys. I flip over to them to greed on some loot so my main's bags don't get filled, or if they end up in a different /pickz as everyone else because EverQuest is stupid. They're basically badass mercs.
I loaded up a level 1 monk and took them through the tutorial. Using MQ2Monk, I plowed the hell out of kobolds without having to think about creating a kissassist profile, set it up, etc. I probably bug the hell out of @Sic with the amount questions I have on the various MQ2 class plugins, but once you get the first one and learn how it works, the others aren't a whole lot different in how they function.

@ChatWithThisName and Sic are also constantly updating their plugins. Taking user requests for small improvements (like adding a Disarm toggle, which I would never find useful, but totally makes sense on a new TLP server), adding the User Interface windows, etc. Lifetime licenses are amazing, and they're here to support your dreams, whatever they are.

I won’t go into a sales pitch on the CWTN plug-ins because I think BlankStare absolutely nailed it with his post. They are simple, fast and just work. The only problem I currently have with them is that they haven’t had the time yet to release all the classes, so now that I’m having to level up a set of alts I can’t rely on them anymore. Bard and Shaman can’t come soon enough!

I mean the latter... when my rogue fights its too far away from my liking. Especially when changing position to keep backstabbing. I had a look at the ini and there is nothing in there to change the melee distance. It just has this:

UseStick=true
StickHow=snaproll behind 10 moveback uw

Recently when my rogue is using Knifeplay Discipline and a name is pulled, he is NOT stopping that disc and using his burns. Not sure if other discs cause it as well. I made sure to have burnallnamed on.

/stopdisc shows as being issued for the primary burn if REdge or Knifeplay is currently the active disc. I've change it to use a function that limits the frequency it's issued which is what others plugins use. But other than that I see no issue with the function.

I'll continue to watch it and see if it continues happening and let yall know. Thanks for looking into it

I like to use hideandsneak on and that sometime can be a bit of a hassle to use Fellowship Insignia to teleport to campfire. So I made a macro to get around that.

/rog hideandsneak off
/makemevisible
/useitem "Fellowship Registration Insignia"
/rog hideandsneak on

Figure I share that in case anyone else was in the same boat.

@TVCChiver The change to the function is what outputs that it's stopping the disc. The EzCommand("/stopdisc"); doesn't output that it's stopping the disc. The only indication you would have is if it's still running, and the primaryburndisc is available for use and it doesn't end the disc.

Great idea. Also works for NPCs and saying "ready" to enter a mission, just replace the /useitem with whatever you need.

yeah, you auto drop stuff that you have added to summon - so you'll want to add the poison to downtime before hand

just pick up your legs and /rog removeclicky summon
pick up your poison and /rog addclicky downtime
then pick up legs and /rog addclicky summon X where x is the number you want

Alternatively you could do a /rog summondrop off so you can pick the item up and add to clicky.

Was wondering why the pants werent clicking - seems not to work in GGH / PoK? Any way of being able to enable this? Seems OK now
My alts are in their own guild, would be helpful if i AFK to have more of them summon Seems OK too
Maybe needed a reload

Also, i ended up with 2 of them in inventory, used both of them immediately (rather than checking for buff - Buff is called - Bite of the Shissar Poison XI (different to the name of the clicky item)
I do have it in offensive and defensive

[CODE lang="ini" title="Rog Clickies" highlight="2, 5-6"]Clicky0=Snowbound Shadowscale Leggings|summon|20
Clicky1=Consigned Bite of the Shissar XX|offensive
Clicky2=Icebound Shadowscale Coat|burn
Clicky3=Blood Drinker's Coating|burn
Clicky4=Consigned Bite of the Shissar XX|defensive
Clicky5=Consigned Bite of the Shissar XX|summon|20[/CODE]

I've encountered an issue with my rogue - he keeps attempting to use Jugular Slice Rk II over and over in combat, even though it's an out of combat only spell. I've tried relogging and everything but as soon as I mem'd the tome this has happened. Any advice?

*Edit* watching him now - he won't do anything other than spam this ability now - no backstabs no other combat abilities...

Anyone knows how alliance and force alliance work? Would my dps improve if I use alliance and force alliance when my group has rogue x 3?

use alliance yes - force alliance just makes you use it all the time.

you can use poisons on non-rogues to proc the alliance too - so yeah with having 3 rogues turn use alliance 100% lol

UseAlliance = Will only try to use alliance if there are 3 or more of your class in the group. IE: yourself and 2 more rogues in this case.
ForceAlliance = Doesn't care how many rogues are you in your group. Will use alliance anytime it's available and you don't currently have a buff from, or the mob doesn't currently have a debuff from an alliance ability.
ForceAlliance would be most beneficial if you are running your rogue in a raid setting where there are more rogues available, but not currently in your group. Such as a raid or with some characters out of group.

Hi. Really happy with this plugin. I noticed today that after I mem'd dissident weapons for the first time (i'm level 115 and a bit slack) , the plugin stopped using it on cooldown. Previously, dico was used on cooldown but now neither are being used. Any thoughts?

Cheers

so you have Dissient Weapons - what rank do you have in your book?

You should have Dissident Weapons and Dissident Weapon Trigger X where x is a number

(it might be possible that rogues have a similar issue that berzerkers do and need to virtuous sage in stratos and say "reminder")

let me know if that is the case and we can add the warning that dbg screwed up and you need to go to that dude to fix it

Is there somewhere to set or a command to use to adjust the pull radius for corpses?(JUST party corpses)
Sometimes, our puller is pulling 200-300yd out in GD/EW and Rogue won't go grab their corpse.

Also, there are times the rogue will only drag a corpse about halfway back and then drop it. What controls this?

The rogue will pull the corpse to within 100 yards of the camp location. At which point it should be in range for the cleric to grab/rez the corpse.

It's currently hard coded in, there isn't a way to adjust it.

Trying to get this set up.... and it's rolling pretty well... but the rogue seems to be using older level 95-100 skills over his 115 skills in some cases. He uses Barrage, instead of Blitzstrike Rk. III? what would cause this?

that means you don't have the appropriate rank of your synergy AA, so its using the one that you do have for the synergy proc - it will use barrage if you have less than 11 ranks, fellstrike if you have rank 11, and blitzstrike if you have rank 12

if you have no ranks of blackguard's synergy, it will use the max ability you have in your "fellstrike" group

I'm having some issues with UseHideSneak. I have it turned off, but it will only stay off for a few pulls, then the rogues start using it again during downtime. It still says off in the settings, but they're using it anyways.

They're using blank KA ini's, if that changes anything.

no reason to use KA, look at the behavior without a macro running to see if its the plugin or the macro causing the behavior.

It also uses hide in combat. It's possible for them to hit hide right as the mob dies, which will actually hide them instead of ducking off aggro. But as lilwizzie says, best to use it without another macro to influence the character.

Code:
    //hide sneak logic here
    if (bUseHideSneak) {
        if (!me->Sneak && Me()->Level >= 3 && AbilityReady("Sneak")) {
            MyUseAbility("Sneak");
        }

        if (me->Sneak && !me->HideMode && Me()->Level >= 3 && AbilityReady("Hide")) {
            MyUseAbility("Hide");
        }
    }

This is the logic in downtime. If the bool bUseHideSneak is false, it won't do this part of the logic.

Code:
    //hide to lose some aggro and drop back on rampage list.
    if (IsAttackOn() && Me()->Level >= 3 && AbilityReady("Hide")) {
        MyUseAbility("Hide");
    }

This is the logic for combat.

OK, I just leveled a 115 rogue. Using MQ2Rogue. I love it. As of yesterday I am having a most difficult time loading the settings window. I have another rogue and the window loads just fine. I have reloaded, updated, both the UI, and the plugin. I have not changed folders of either. In the MQ2 window it says that the plugin is loaded. So should I just unload MQ2rogue or uninstall it and see if that works?

I would relog your toon. sounds like eq has the "phantom/ghost" window issue that appears to be happening with a greater frequency lately.

Its possible you might need to go into your everquest main folder, look for your UI_toonname_server.ini file and search for [BerzerkerWnd] and delete that entry and let the plugin re-make it - this work around for the phantom window was brought to my attention from Tone and MaxD with mq2rez and the alertswindow section getting too many entries and causing issues with finding the rez accept window

Nope...I even deleted the entire UI file and relogged in the rogue. Still same issue. Other rogue loads (just have to reload UI to get the window to pop) just fine. Maybe copy entire UI file from rogue that is working to the one that is not. Will try that next.

Nope that did not work either....Must be MQ2Rogue doesn't like running two rogues on same computer...gonna try and see what happens on my laptop...
