Because my addictive personality is winning at the moment I'm about ten minutes from pulling the trigger on this. However I have a concern. My group is currently 110 war, shm, and bard. I have two level 100s with a beast and a druid. The kennel 100s are heroics with very little gear upgrade from granted. Solid but not the greatest.
The warrior, shaman and bard are subbed and have their auto level aa's.
The 110s are in snowbound gear fairly solid. I would like to get the level 100's to level 110 as quickly as possible.
Will this group make up work do you think or too melee heavy?
Running mq2shaman, mq2bst and mq2war for 110s. Rgmercs for the bard and kissassist for the druid.
I'll run a DPS caster merc until I figure out the grind and what else I need. I suspect a mage or wizard or nec. Since I'm melee heavy.
I guess start at the lowest level ones to get the 100s some levels and move up from there.
Thanks!
I mostly have been grinding out Great Divide but recently did low level group through Goblins and Fools and Contract of War. My crew started off as group with a 4 95s (Pal/Shm/Rog/Ber) with a 110 bard and 116 Bst. I had decent gear and my pal was getting rocked in Goblins and I had my BST tanking for quite a while. I had many wipes but around the 103/105 range it started to become doable and the pally could tank but still had several wipes. There are 2 hard pulls where I would consistently get 4-5 mobs on one pull and 6+ on another pull. Mobs are like 103 if i remember correctly
Eventually I subbed out the pally for my 120sk and moved to Contract of War. My 110 shaman was having issues dying to I tried a 115 shaman and ended up just bringing in my 120 clr and i didn't have any issues after that. It seems like there are 2 pulls that cause issues: the first pull my healer would consistently get initial agro and die before my tank came online to do anything and there was another pull deeper in where my shaman would die. Having the healing power and plate of the cleric helped me pull through those.
My crew is now in Great Divide 120 SK/CLR and 110 Brd/Rog/Ber 116 Bst. At that point I had no issues and rarely wipe. I think Great Divide has the cleanest set of pulls with I think only one pull being 4 mobs. They can run all day while I work without a wipe.
Shei is pretty clean starting 118 with max aa for that level and i didn't have any issues when i was running that with my other crew.
Grind is great but will require more attention to clean up wipes with the lower level instances. Having two healers/rezs should help with the issues I was having. My original crew had a clr and nec so double rez really helped keep the automation going if my healer died.
my first crew was a 115 auto grant sk/clr/bst 113 autogrant mag/nec and 115 max TOV AA enchanter. until my crew had about 3kAA they would wipe every couple hours but they quickly where they got to the point where they could solo great divide all day. Now I set AA to 100% and my crew just levels after maxing the AA for their current level.
My sk is mostly TOL raid geared and could literally solo GD so for me the heals are for the group and at this point im thinking about subbing my shaman back in but i really love how powerful a cleric is in terms of pure healing as she can tank and heal well if needed; i think im going to do a test run to see my kills per hour with my shaman to see how big a difference it will really make. Having solid CC goes a long way to helping the automation run well. Make sure youre running instances where your bard mez is effective and you should be fine. Just keep an eye on stuff and you will get to the point where your crew can just run for hours with no issues. I have saved so much effort using grind while im working.
I am running MQ2class on all my toons but the bard i am running rgmercs
As for your other class it depends on what you want/like. I found wizard to be underwhelming and my mag would out damage them by quite a bit. My Mag almost always out damages my necro even on longer names fights but not my much (i was also running a pet heavy crew). Necro damage takes a while to ramp up but its great for named.
