Redbot updated MQ2Bst with a new update entry:

9/14/2021

- Fixed issue with spamming Velocity/Velocity Unity.
-- We were accidentally checking raid and xtarget members for the autocast buff *your* group gets.
- Moar haste value checking for usage of the autocast from Velocity/VelocityUnity.
- The autocast usage of Velocity/VelocityUnity line for haste purposes now respects UseHaste.
- Now has a toggle for UseHaste; /bst usehaste on/off/true/false/0/1
-- Lower lvl you will use your STHaste spell.

OK NOOB question. New to MQ boxing and just now trying BST and EsKay plugins.

Everything works well in normal group play, though some SK behaviors are odd to me (20 year SK player used to raid) but that's fine.

BUT one thing I was hoping to do with these tools is provide outside help to a group for farming - i.e. play my BST outside to group to provide DPS. I can do this fine with setting up an ini file (ok crude and sub-optimal but it works) but can't seem to figure out how to get MQ2BST to set my SK as assist and help from outside the group.

What am I missing? Would love to know, I was planning on buying more (old fart in my 70's, would rather use a combo of tools and my knowledge instead of relearning all) but can't do that until I can figure out things like this!

Thanks much

hello pewter,

no the cwtn plugins don't have out of gorup assisting built in

Ahhhh thanks - so I would have to keep a separate INI built to use MQ to both do in-group and out of group help - thanks for the quick reply!

you can use some other external method of assisting from out of group. keep in mind if you use alternative methods of assisting, you can use manual mode (mode 0) and then just have it target and turn on your attack - if you try and use another full automation on top of mq2bst you're going to have conflict, and have a bad time, and it isn't recommended and we can't really support that.

this is less than ideal but an option
or for your bst you can turn on usemending and xtargethealing with the other tank on your xtarget, and your bst in their own group set as tank - healing would make it get a mob on xtarget, then since it is tank it would then try and tank the mob - this isn't ideal as it would set your pet to taunt and such.

all the cwtn have a raidmode, so if what you're killing is requiring you to use more than a group, you might consider that an option.

Sounds good thanks. Since I'm in noob mode still, easiest might be to use a dedicated INI for a toon if using it as external help, might not be optimal but doable and just not use the plugin when that toon is external.

No raids or anything, but as a returning player some of our toons (wife and I run 6 or 7) aren't strong enough yet and wanted to apply external help.

I will ask one more that I haven't tried - if movement isn't an issue, can I use two machines and run these? I have two laptops side by side.

Thx much for all info - still planning on another couple of plugins no matter what, just have to figure out how to use things

you can, but as explained in the information guides - all buffing happens locally on local pcs to local toons - so you wouldn't buff a toon on another computer

there's a ton of information to know, some stuff you don't even know that you want to know, so make sure when you get a chance to take a peak over at the getting started info

> Getting Started With the CWTN Class Plugins <

Got it thanks. I'll reread all the info, obviously I only skimmed some of it. One of my goals is to help my wife play with less stress, so maybe I let her play a main toon and I play all the rest - I'll work with it to better understand the constraints. Your work is insanely goof for in-group and on the same box from what I see, so if I have to write inis for use playing together, plugins still worth the cost ! Sleep here now

glad to hear you both are having fun pewter!

Hello, my BST isn't casting Paragon of Spirit anymore. I've noticed that because my SK is running oom too often, even with BEZA.
Any idea ? (the option is off course green in the plugin).
He is using Focused Paragon though.

howdy Wurmdal,

the option is "off" or the option is "of" course green?

if it is off, you want to turn that on, but I'm assuming you were saying it is turned on and the ui button is green to reflect that.

pretty odd you would still be using focused paragon, but not regular paragon (unless it as turned off) or you had your paragonend/paragonmana value set too low

Sorry for the spelling, i 'm french.
Well i've just checked the options you've mentioned (which i didn't touch in the past) and they are respectively 40 and 60, so it's not that. Problem unsolved :)

ok, I'll take a look at it.

I think i might know what the problem is

What is the logic on use of Shared Merciless Ferocity?

My beastlord is not maintaining this on the group. He casts when rebuffing after a wipe, and sometimes during a session, but mostly I have to manually cast this to maintain it. When I cast it lands on all the group and pets, so is not being blocked. I thought I might be missing it while away from group but checked that and no one has it. He has plenty of idle downtime to cast it so he is not busy doing other stuff.

I just want to check I'm not missing something obvious before I try and pin down why he sometimes casts it but doesn't maintain it.

he will cast it during combat if he is missing it, but not others.

he will cast it out of combat on melee characters if they do not have it and don't have shared merc or brutal (for some reason people have all sorts of mixed levels in their groups so we checked for those as well on top of stacking).

as with all buffing we currently check our cwtnbuffs file to "see" the other people that may or may not need buffing.
these "other people" have to be local toons, on your local pc, from the same mq/mq2 install, running mq2cwtnbuffs
so if you have anything like file scanning that can make you not have current data and we would skip buffing if the information in the file was "stale"

as a quick "check"

I clicked it off a zerker, casted it on them
then clicked off self, casted it
clicked off on bard, casted it on them
clicked off on shd, casted it on them
1632913137409.png

so I dunno appears to be working here as expected (and i checked in both mq2 and mq "next

I would make sure you don't have a janky xtarget window (tho there does appear to be a bug that happens sometimes) if you do a /echo ${Me.XTarget} and it says something other than "0" when you have zero mobs on xtarget, you need to reload your ui. This would prevent you from doing all sorts of stuff if we think you still have aggro mobs

cwtnbuffs checks all characters, even the ones not running cwtn bots? neat.

yup mq2cwtnbuffs is freestanding, so if they're running it they'll make themselves a little buff file, which we can then check out for all the goods we want to know about - buffs, shorties, max number of buffs, current number of buffs, blocked buffs, petbuffs/petblocked buffs, any number of counters for things like disease/poison etc.

originally it was mq2kissbuffs to emulate what kiss does to help with better integration, but kiss went a different direction so we re-did our buffs.

eventually :tm: we'll have a better system, likely using dannet

I recently started using a bst in my group and the plugin is working great! I also run a SK and monk with plugins and I have FD turned off on all of them. I've noticed my bst still does FD quite frequently during a fight or even right after combat and I've ran off a few times leaving him behind. I'm learning to check to make sure he's coming along but I'd rather he just not FD. I have FD turned off so why does he still FD so often? It's just the bst, monk rarely does it and SK seems to never do it. I'm sorry if this has been a topic before, I just didn't want to sift through 28 bst forum pages to look for it and I couldn't find it with search. Thanks for any help.

howdy coop.

we also only feign if you have usefeign turned on - unless if you have /bst checkforstuckgems turned on, and you're casting something outside of the plugin casting (like manually casting), which would trigger the stuck gem check.

/bst CheckForStuckGems true/false/on/off/0/1 - Sets if you want to try and "unstick" your spell gems - this will happen in every mode other than manual, and we use the Playing Possum AA.

If you're going to be making your cwtn plugins cast anything outside of the plugins, you will 100% want to turn off checkforstuckgems.

(re: "I just didn't want to sift through 28 bst forum pages" did you check the FAQ?) > MQ2Bst FAQ <
Q. Why Does it Keep Playing Possum?
A. We are using Playing Possum for our stuckgem check, if you are not in manual mode and you try and manually cast something, it will likely think you have a stuck gem and try to unstuck it with Playing Possum - if/when eq fixes this bug we will remove the stuckgem stuff.

otherwise, are you sure you're not running a macro or a react or something else on top of mq2bst?

leaving him behind? you can /bst autostandonfeign true and it will auto stand at your fd setting values.

/bst AutoStandOnFeign true/false/on/off/0/1 - Sets if you want the plugin to automatically stand if you are Feigning

/bst FeignAtAggro # - Sets the aggro value to feign at.
/bst FeignAtHealth # - Sets the health value to feign at.
/bst UseFeign true/false/on/off/0/1 - Sets if you want the plugin to use Feign Death to control aggro.

I'm just running the bst with the plugin, not trying to cast anything else. I'll turn off the checkforstuckgems and turn on autostandonfeign, thanks. I just didn't think I needed to set that stuff because I have FD turned off. I'm just using mq2 with sk, monk, shm and bst plugins. I've noticed it even causes my necro to FD sometimes during a fight or raid if I'm taking a lot of damage so I assumed it was just a MQ2 thing if your class can FD. I imagine the autostandonfeign will work.....thanks a lot for your quick response.

well, you probably have mq2melee running on your necro. the cwtn plugins would unload mq2mlee on the cwtn plugin characters. and mq2bst is definitely not fding your necro :p

but regarding "needed that stuff cause fd is turned off" - stuck gems was a big problem for a while which dbg has supposedly fixed, tho they said that repeatedly before and it came back. some automation uses origin to check for stuck spell gems - but we opted not to go that route since your toon accidentally porting out isn't great, so each class uses a "lesser of risks" ability --- not all AAs would break the stuck gems, so options are limited.

also, the autostandonfeign is defaulted to on - so that means you turned it off (and specifically with the slash command to save it to off). it is defaulted on for all classes, not just for classes that have FD, because some mobs/events will FD your toon, and then they just lie there on the ground doing nothing.

Yes, using origin would be an issue for sure! lol

Yes I did turn off the autostandonfeign....just figured with FD turned off I wouldn't feign and therefore wouldn't need to worry about having the autostand turned on.

Yeah I figured it was something with mq2 causing my necro to feign, I knew it wasn't from mq2bst! So it's mq2melee, thanks. Not a big deal, I'm at the keyboard on my necro and it's not very often.

Appreciate the help Sic =) plus the fast response! Have a good one

in the plugins is there anything to work with the mercs, in KISS you can set the MercAssistAt to do a call assist instead of allowing the mercs to autoassist.. do the Chat plugins have anything like this.

howdy matricre,

no we don't have any merc integration/support/handling

eq also has built in to have your merc automatically assist - but mercs are pretty meh, and i would recommend using even a f2p toon in its place :)

ok, I'll take a look at it.

I think i might know what the problem is

No idea what the problem could be ? I did a macro to cast paragon from my SK but i keep forgeting to click it. It's not very efficient.

this was fixed when i said i would take a look at it, but of course, requires a rebuild of mq2.

I would strongly recommend making the swap over to mq "Next". There have been several rebuilds of next since last eq patch, and everyone on next is already enjoying this update.

I've watched your video on the migration of mq Next. After this should i need to choose "MQNext" in the launcher instead of "Live". What is confusing me is that MQNext appears then as non installed. I thought it was already installed (for the migration to takes place). I don't get it.

The migrator migrates all your settings and configurations from your MQ2 install to your Next install. You need to install Next to be able to migrate your old stuff to your new location

Try these instructions below.

download next via the RG launcher
hit the migrator tool (will move any configs/macros etc from old install) (has a vid too)
setup framelimiter (i have a quick vid on it)
Migrator: <https://www.redguides.com/community/resources/macroquest-migrator.2156/>
Framelimiter: <https://www.redguides.com/community/threads/mqnext-framelimiter-demo.78448/>
then:
/plugin groupinfo
/plugin targetinfo
/plugin xtarinfo
mental notes:
mq2map click is Control+Shift+Click
new easyfind self travel is Control+Click (reminder in find window title bar)
new easyfind group travel is Control+Shift+Click

if you have usealliance turned on, you put alliance in gem13, otherwise you put velocityunity in gem 13. been like this since forever.

holy moly, i am feeling like an idiot  i didnt know Alliance was Coalition.

On the other hand, it means i had the same idea how to implement something like you guys .. so i am feeling much smarter already! :xd:

3 or more - does it only count group, or would raid count too?

2 Bst can resolve coalition (4dots needed, we have 3 per bst) - if raid counts too, could it be changed to 2 or more?

Asking for a friend!

all the alliances check for 3 in group. if you want not 3 in group click use alliance and then force alliance. (like in raid, or using not 3).
