My lvl 125 mage is not burning named like he should, not using host of elem (swarm pet) on named. I have it off for trash mobs but should be used on named. Not using servant of Ro and some of the other AA's
Not using all 13 gem slots on any mobs (4, 6, 8, and 13). If gem 13 is empty at the start of MQ2 my mage never adds a spell to gem slot 13.
 
if you are mean mq2mage, you should post in the discussion thread there, and maybe even read the thred and faq, and see if your issues have been mentioned and or are answered in the faq

Gem 13 is alliance if usealliance, or paradox if useparadox - if you have both of those turned off, it will not memorize anything there.

just fighting a dummy, you can see me firing Host of the Elements. since this is a swarm pet it requires UseSwarmPet enabled - but yep, as expected usage. there is no "toggle off for regular but on for named.

you can also see in this image that i'm using servant of ro, which also requires UseSwarmPet.

neither of these require burning

At least your in-game class plugin commands all seem to follow a standard (the short name), which is great.

Is there a simple way to stop re-summoning "Molten Komatiite Orb" when in combat?
I find on raids it actually lowers DPS to spend time casting it, when already in combat. Would be great to be able to set the re-summon to down-time only.

Mage is trying to give pet weapons to a Enchanter charmed pet and he doesn't want them, the I have no need for this is spammed continually.

I know you can turn off giving pet weapons out to the group, but I running a full pet group so don't want to do this.

Is there a way to turn off the giving for one character or type of pet?

If you're actively using charm pets, you're better off to turn SelfPetWeaponsOnly on after initial setup.

the alternative is never giving to charmed pets or making another toggle to "attempt to give charmed pets weapons"
 
This would be sick. Is there some way to go about doing that now or are you suggesting an addition?
just talking out the thought process. we fundamentally reject just willy nilly additional toggles.

I reinstalled MQ2, Mage still not using all 13 gem slots or burning named mobs with full range of spells & AA's. works fine when using kissassist, I bought mage plugin so I didn't have to wright kissassist code, I like the options I have with mage plugin.

they're not. posting your server and toon name is incorrect - you also didn't post your mq2mage settings, you posted your general mq settings file and your mq2map.ini

I might be a major pain in to butt with this shit, but I really like to know what I am doing wrong?
I have 3 mages, all have use alliance ON. Force alliance OFF, alliance burn only OFF.
I know I am kinda obsessed with this alliance shit. Maybe I should not be, but I really like when those HP's go down alot in one burst.
issues:
1. Mages tend to cast Firebound at same time. resulting 2 x buffs on same mob, and now 2 mages are on CD.
2. They cast it when there's already Firebound going on, thus resetting the timer, and nuke countdown.

What I would like to see is:
Mages have a cast order: 1,2,3.
Mages check if theres a firebound in progress or not, and if it's their turn, then cast it.
Same with malo, but every time they are on firebound duty, someone else casts malo, after checking if it's on.
Whole thing could reset in 25sec or so, starting over.
Is that possible to make happen, like programming wise?
And am I making ANY sense?

Sry to be annoyance, again :/

Stagger your assist values if you want them to be staggered, otherwise they're going to do what they're supposed to when they're supposed to.

we're never going to willy nilly not do something waiting for someone else to

that someone else might be:
- afk
- stunned
- paused
- silenced
- medding
- managing inventory
- invis
- not wanting a faction hit
and infinity other reasons - your mq2mage is going to do its very best mage stuff it can when it should

as you know, cause folks have said - alliance is a huge waste on group mobs

i'd suggest 1 mage at 100 assistat, one at 95, and one at 90 or something like that

I am working on more diverse grp, but it takes some time...
 
even in raids, mages don't use alliance because the opportunity cost of casting alliance is a net loss in dps compared to just running your normal nukes.

Its not so much you NEED to drop a mage (though I would, trips you leave synergy on the table), its that alliance gives terrible dmg for its cost in group game. not a MQ2mage, just EQ thing. Anyways, as Sic said, stagger your start.
 
I had camp radius set to 300, spell's range is 338 and 270, standing at 255-260 and I have to cast manually and pet keeps backing off every time i attack with it. I move closer and it starts casting automatically. Is there a max range set to cast or a way to extend out the range so i don't have to get closer?

No there isn't, we use the max adjusted range for your spells, mob has to be in camp etc etc etc


What you typed is pretty confusing and I'm not sure I understand. It sounds like we don't think you have los on it or your ma isn't targeting it.

I'm standing within LOS and have the mob targeted. I am trying to avoid getting hit by an AE and nuking a mob/sending pet to attack. Mage can attack manually/cast spells on target manually, but i have to get closer for the program to do it. Mage is in vorpal
 
I am not sure if this is the best place to ask, but is there any way to get the Mage to target mercs for their buffs before they get the group DS?

Ugh sorry, looks like the reply copy didn't come through right. The CWTN post I replied to was him saying he'd put in a workaround for the renewal of iilivina spell. I noticed this morning it didn't show up in missing, but I also went ahead and bought/memmed it and it still memmed the evreth version.

CWTN's comments I found seemed to imply he had to work around a whitespace issue, which is why I thought DPG may have ninja fixed their issue which broke his.

Not quite. I didn't have it, but it didn't show on missing. I got it just to see if the problem was isolated to missing and if it would work fine, but it is still memming the 113 version.

that's pretty weird that it doesn't work again - we didn't change anything there i'll make a note to check.

fortunately you probably won't be that level for long since you have 119 spells - should just get to 123+ and get you Renewal of Shoru

Unfortunately he's f2p so he'll stop at 120 lol. No real rush on the fix though since I rarely run him without a pocket druid, just thought you'd like to know. Thanks as always!
