Q. Where do I download it?
A. MQ2Mage is now rull release, so you must purchase a license for live server usage. For test server it is included in your lvl 2 RedGuides subscription. Use the launcher, and it will download automatically. then just load it in game /plugin mq2mage load

Q. I don't want to use pet weapons
A. /mag UsePetWeapons off

or

/mag selfpetweaponsonly on to only do your own pet


Q. I'm picky about my pet weapons and want only xyz or mix-and-match abc+xyz
A. no options at this time for that. Have a weapon or don't =p

Q. MQ2Mage is trying to give a charmed pet a weapon, but it won't accept it
A. You will want to turn on /mag SelfPetWeaponsOnly on to only do your pet.

Q. Why do i end up with a bunch of extra +hate and -hate weapons?
A. We don't hand out the +hate or -hate weapons - yes including if you are in a tanking mode, who knows if/when you will want to change modes, and force killing your pet if their weapon isn't a hate or non-hate version is less than ideal. If you want to manually give them the hate weapons, you can always turn off UsePetWeapons and hand them out.

We don't currently delete any items, including these un-used weapons or empty pouches of quellious. the EQ functionality to delete sometimes requires you to pick up the item on the cursor, and we want to avoid potential conflicts where something else puts something on your cursor and now we deleted it.

Sep, 27, 2023 - You can now turn on /mag deletetrash on and we will delete Pouch of Quellious and non-dmg summoned pet weapons.


Q. Do I need an open top-level inventory slot for summon stuff?
A. No.

Q. I want to Call of the Hero?!
A. /mag coth [name]; /mag gcoth [name]

Q. Can I request a mod rod?
A. yes /mag modrod and the mage will force cast the Modulation Shard AA, despite if they have a mod rod or not. so you could /bct mage //mag modrod or /dex mage /mag modrog and it would make your mq2mage cast modulation shard AA.

Q. I hate mana, myself, and this game - Can i disable AA mod rod usage??
A. no, not really. you can either a: have a modrod in your bank if you don't want to summon it for yourself, or b: you can block the spell on toons you don't want to receive one (like melee toons). We're going to cast the AA modrod if we can :)
Q. I don't want to use the older Pelagic mod rod.
A. You can turn off UseGroupModRod --- you STILL will use your AA Mod Rod.


Q. I am having a lore-group issue with a summoned item.
A. We handle this for items and objects that we can detect. We can't detect or know about items you may have placed in housing, like a personal house or a guildhall. So if you are continuing to have a lore-group issue with summoned items, you will want to go and look in your housing including guild hall for any items that match lore-group items like "Wand of Burning Modulation", "Wand of Dark Modulation", or "Wand of Phantasmal Modulation" etc.

Ether-Fused Shard is another example.

We are able to check the following locations:
- Possessions
- Bank
- Mount Key Ring
- Illusion Key Ring
- Familiar Key Ring
- Hero Forge Key Ring
- Dragon Hoard


We are unable to check:
- housing (self or others)
- guild hall


Q. I want to summon other stuff, not just weapons?
A. We currently only summon pet weapons and things like modrods, paradox, and item clickies. We don't summon armor, jewelry, muzzles, etc.

Q. I have a pet focus thing I either want to equip or click before casting a pet?
A. We don't have a way to handle that at this time.

Q. Alliance for less than 3 mages?
A. You *can* proc alliance with 2 mages during twincast, but it is a huge mana sink, and probably not worth doing. If you wish to do this you would turn on UseAlliance and ForceAlliance. The ForceAlliance ignores the 3 or more matching classes from the check.

Q. I want my mage to be a crowd control rooting mage.
A. Sorry, no.

Q. XTargetBuffing?
A. Probably, Eventually

Q. I don't like the spell lineup.
A. You can "Bring your own spells" with /mag byos on. Like the other CWTN plugins *most* of the spells still have to be spells that the plugin says you have and can use, you can just adjust your spell lineup with byos.

Q. What is BYOS.
A. BYOS allows you to bring your own spell lineup. This setting also assumes you want to handle your own buffs, since we don't memorize or mess around with your spell gems in any capacity. We will still cast our AA type buffs, but we will not memorize or cast other buffs like we normally would. BYOS also requires the spells to be spells that the plugin knows about - things that get reported upon the plugin loading are the spells it knows about.

Q. Mage is chain casting something, like regular damage shield?
A. There are a few lower lvl / mid level buffs that eq/mq2 reports stack that do not. You either have this situation or some other issues. I would suggest checking for the red error text that eq gives you to tell you WHY it didn't successfully take hold and then go from there. You can block anything you don't want cast.

Q. I don't want the plugin to cast xyz buff on a toon.
A. Any buff you don't want cast upon someone, you would just have that character add it to their blocked buffs.

Q. How can I get it to break invis to do stuff?
A. MQ2Mage will only break invis if you have usemelee turned on and was giving a valid melee assist target, or if a camp is set - so mode 1 would break invis to do stuff, where mode 0 would not.

Q. Epic 1.0/1.5/2.0?
A. We don't use the 1.0/1.5/2.0.

Q. SwitchWithMA option?
A. There is no option to turn SwitchWithMA off in the MQ2Mage, we're going to re-acquire the MA's target when we go to do stuff.

Q. Why am I Not Pulling XYZ mob?
A. Not pulling a mob is almost always an issue either with your Navmesh or your pull settings. If you do a /mag debugpull on once and it will cycle 1 time and spit out in your mq2 window all the mobs and why you are not pulling them. Compare the output with the mobs you think you should be pulling and it will tell you why. This will notify you if you have no nav path, or out of zradius, or regular radius, or on ignore, etc.

Q. Pet Pull?
A. We do not have pet pulling, and at this time do not have plans to add it.

Q. I'm memorizing spells in combat?
A. This means you have CombatSummonPet turned on. If you have this turned on you will summon your pet in combat (which requires you to memorize a spell) - it also buffs your pet and returns your gems to the normal spell loadout. If you do not want this, turn off CombatSummonPet.

Q. How do I make it do tanky stuff??
A. You will use your tanking type stuff if you are in a tank mode (like 4, 5, 7, or 8), or you are assigned as Main Tank in your group window assignment. If you don't want to do tanking stuff put yourself in a non-tank mode (like 0 manual, 1 assist, etc) and don't be assigned as main tank in your group window. This will allow you to on-the-fly swap to doing tank stuff and non-tank stuff (like if you are off-tanking and need to swap with another tank). You can just quickly adjust your mode, or group assignment. Flow Chart > HERE <

Q. Pet Tanking but don't want to stick / melee?
A. Currently you would need to turn off usemelee and usestick. It is an item on our "issue board" to look at.

Q. Pet Healing?
A. Currently we're hardcoded for using your PetHeal at 60% health, or 90% if your pet is the target of your target (has aggro from the mob you're looking at). This will get changed so it is adjustable down the road.

Q. Trying to go mode 1 but says I need a mesh?
A. The plugins require mq2nav for movement. You will need to run the mesh updater in your RedGuide's Launcher. Please watch the video > HERE <

Q. I sometimes get stuck in my spell book?
A. This is often due to your background fps not being high enough. It is strongly advised to utilize at LEAST 30 fps for background, recommended 60+ background fps. The fps cycle for eq is where "work" is done. If your background fps is set to "min" you can and will have undesired results with all sorts of automation activities.
Alt-O -> Display -> Advanced - > Max Background FPS

You will also need to check if you are using any external background fps limiting software - like isboxer - and adjust that accordingly.
