Just asking as my tank died and my other toons just stood there to die from aggro. I ended up scripting the group to go into tank mode if the mt dies.

I have my group chasing me around to kill stuff on the mt. But in chase mode if the tank dies the toons just stand there dying with adds. I scripted the toons to go into tank mode atleast this way they will finish off any mobs on the extended target list while the tank is hovering.

Not sure if this a setup issue or something I'm missing.

MQ2Mage
- You can now make the mag force cast the Modulation Shard AA with a "/mag modrod".
-- This means you can have a hotkey on your driving toon or a react to "bct mage //mag modrod" or "/dex mage /mag modrod"
--- and it would recast the AA reguardless if it personally had a modrod or not.

I have set the background fps to 60 tried several other remedies, still have issues with only my mages locking up with the spell book open.

I would make sure you're using framelimiter.

Would also make sure you dont have some other automation also memorizing or u memorizing spells and getting into a contest

you can also /mag debugbook on and it'll spit out some stuff of where it thinks it is hung up (the debug output about manual mode is not accurate)

Do these settings in the frame limiter overwrite the ingame settings? Just for clarification, I had this at 0 and the ingame settings at 60.

I was frame limiting to 0 and was told to set it to 60, there is two places you can adjust frame limiting, one in game settings and one in the mq settings.

I guess regardless, either setting didn't help my situation :), this is on a fresh login with nothing else running, when i click over to the mage tab he is locked up with the book open, happens on both mages.

no, that isn't what the faq entry says - it specifically says in your eq alt-o menu, not in framelimiter. those were also to handle the mq2 whackiness with how spellbook is read - mq "next" especially with framelimiter has all but removed any of those issues from anyone.

eq still has a few bugs themselves with the spell book - there are circumstances that you can actually open the spellbook and walk around with it open (you shouldn't be able to). and you can absolutely cause these kinds of things by stressing the limitations of your computer resources out - like by running unlimited with everything loaded 190+ fps (for zero benefit)

so as mentioned, i would just ensure you have frame limiter setup correctly (which will handle your eq game settings) and I would ensure you don't have anything any messing with your spell gems.

the book debug?

Yah, I already went through that part from the faq. I was talking about the mq frame limiter as being a third party frame limiter and if it had anything that interfering with why my mages are locking up.

I know you run 30+ toons or whatever, I wouldn't run any of that at unlimited frames on any toons foreground or background.

but framelimiter should override that stuff anyhow per how brain explained it.

but in summary:

1. make sure you're not capping resources out by doing things like running at 190+ fps on your 30+ toons. you can and will bug out the spell book window.
2. definitely run framelimiter (this will help with #1)
3. don't run conflicting stuff that would be memorizing/unmemorizing spells.
4. utilize the debug feature i mentioned to try and determine where the disconnect is
5. if you're in an assist mode, usemelee would kick you out of a bugged/stuck book - so that's a last option if you need it

that debug doesn't appear to be showing at a time that you say it is bugged.

are you just pasting some stuff randomly from a time that it isn't bugged, because if so i'm not sure what you're thinking that will accomplish :(

What is the difference in the process for opening the book and memming the spells between the mage, sk and the shaman, that it would only happen on the mage?

there isn't. it is exactly the same code (as in not copy pasta - literally the same code)

which is why it is almost certainly an issue with resources for that instances which coincidentally ends up being the same toon
 
is there a way to set the Nextmage to chain cast? My mage is just standing here casting pets and leaving spell gems up half the time. It nukes every once in a while, but could be doing a lot more damage.

Check out AddClicky Information. I am reading this to be auto at 60%. I have never thought about usage as my mage has yet to go oom.
 
Just noticed a mistype in mage plugin, when it says: <age pet is now taunting.
 
Is there any way to change the plugin settings so the group coth spell stays as the last spell gem slot? I'm finding the current options to use group coth as either inconvenient or unreliable.

byos or you can turn off usedskinDS and gem 9 will stay empty
 
Seems Iceflame Rampart is cast (TOV 114) instead of Iceflame Barracade (TOL 119). Tried removing/blocking on spell on pet and older spell is added back on.

thx. this might have been one that was borked in beta and we didn't catch it for live. i'll fix it

you can always see what spells we look at using when the plugin loads and it says what spells it uses.
 
I already own MQ2Bst and Enc, and use a Mage as the controller. Will MQ2Mage work as a helper to keep me properly buffed, pet buffed and armed if I leave it in manual mode all the time?

yes. manual mode is for movement and assisting for melee purposes.

you will still do attacking stuff if you have an MA set, even in manual mode.
