Plugin - MQ2Bst (1 Viewer) 3.1.52471.11

I had commented a week or two ago about my BST being laggy for some reason. I have deleted and reinstalled Mq2bst and the ini and that did nothing. Then just for the hell of it i uninstalled and reinstalled a fresh copy of mq2 on my computer, and its still happening. I have 10 toons logged in and my whole group runs on CWTN plugins (besides the bard). He engages perfectly fine and Its not super noticeable unless you're on the Bst screen a lot and moving the camera in third person view, but the Bst immediately stops lagging and frame rates shoot up if i pause or unload the plugin. Also i noticed that the Bst will FD every time i manually cast shared merciless ferocity on the group. I don't know enough about code or anything but i feel there is something funky going on like he's running some loop of checking buffs or something weird that would make the framerates drop like that only when the plugin is running.

*** I remember about a year ago this was happening on the RGMercs to the Wizzy... My whole group was running RGMercs and only the wizzy for some reason would lag out and fps would drop when i was running the macro. You also could not cast campfire or anchor or summon a mount or anything without it saying the cast was interrupted even when the group was not doing anything. They looked into it and he was constantly doing something or searching something in the background that was causing him to do that.

there shouldn't be anything specific to bst that causes your behavior. all of the plugins do the same checks for buffing (they check those buff files from mq2cwtnbuffs) - have you ensured you don't have any files getting held up by your antivirus - or something else with your directories - like syncing with one drive or similar

I Only have windows defender for antivirus and i have the whole mq2 folder and Eq excluded from any scans. I also just closed one drive and that didn't make any difference. Does him FDing when i cast group buffs have anything to do with it? Or is there some kind of log file or debug i can send you to take a look at to see if its just something on my end?

no him fding means while you have aggro (or your health is below your fd health check value), the thing you are targeting is targeting you.

Health is at 100 percent, im sitting in the guild hall and no one in my group is targeting the BST

oh - that's because you have stuck gems check turned on and you're manually casting something so the plugin uses playing possum to check if you have the stuck gems

Btw figured out what was melting Terror's computer. fix will be in next update :)

NEVERMIND, IT LOOKS LIKE THIS WAS ANSWERED UP ABOVE. SORRY FOR THE REDUNDANCY. CARRY ON.

I am having an issue with Mq2bst being laggy... my whole team runs on CWTN plugins and they all work flawlessly except mq2bst. The framerates drop to 30fps when the plugin is running. the reason i know its the plugin is becuase as soon as i pause the plugin or unload it my frame rates shoot back up and i have zero lag. Im running an I9 with 32 gigs of ram and an RTX 3080 its def not a computer problem. im only using 30 percent of my cpu and 70 percent of my gpu. Any ideas as to why he screen is choppy/laggy? It's worth noting that he does everything hes suposed to to... it just bothers me that when im on his screen its not smooth.

Checking in to follow-up on this issue and see if you resolved it. I didn't have MQ2Autoclaim loaded so I'm taking that off the checklist. I've double checked my options (alt+o), settings, etc., and nothing seems to be out of place. I experience the same thing, though. When running, the framerate stutters just a bit, when I hit pause or unload, framerate smooths out. I run CWTN plugins on all my characters except for my bard (crossing fingers that some magic is coming for him): MQ2War, MQ2Berzerker, MQ2Cleric, MQ2Shaman, & MQ2Bst. All other classes run smooth. Here is my ini:

Why does the BST go into the rogue position in back of the mob everytime? Is there a way so he just moves 1/4 around then attacks instead of behind? (Might be a stupid question). but I am blond, so there is that.

Yes - I use a different StickHot for my mq2bst_dudename.ini

now keep in mind 2 things - 1. you should avoid directly editing the ini as the only thing that you *need* to go in here is for the stickhow. 2. a bad stickhow can and will crash you.

StickHow=55%% !front moveback loose uw --- to use the % you absolutely HAVE to have double %% or you will crash.

I use this stickhow on anything that casts an interruptable spell since eq is stupid. - so shm, bst, clr, enc - all use this stickhow.

Is there any method to force the plugin to use a specific proc pet buff? From what I can tell (blocking the buff on the pet) it always chooses the highest?

Might be running into something only applicable to TLP servers. As I understand it Mark of the Mighty on npcs cause pet aggro to go to the owner. So using pet buffs with a stun component such as Spirit of Snow/Flame/Storm Strike/Wind is undesirable due to the extra hate they generate. Blocking and buffing manually is working fine for now, but was just wondering if there is an easier way. Probably too specific of an issue to add some option to avoid using pet buffs with stun, would only apply from Luclin through GoD as I think after that MotM goes away.

i had a note "Possible users might want options down the line, especially in TLP" for what "pet spirit" we use. Its a pretty specific issue but i'll take a look at it - no promises for anything at this time.

Yeah its a pretty specific issue that has an OK workaround, either block pet buffs and do it manually, or maybe have a blank KA that only does pet buff (haven't tried that yet). Thanks for putting it on the list to look at!

just to confirm - flame and snow are still an issue with their deaggro due to the stun portion and not just the lvl 54 storm which actually has a threat increase built in (you could always delete the spell from your spell book if you enver wanted to use it).

this will take some digging to see if we can unfuck this without causing a whole bunch of headache

the other 2 lines btw, are the petbite which doesn't start till 87, and the petheal stuff which doesn't start till 83 so despite my note about TLP - it was more of a "later on tlp" situation.

Ah I see, this is the first time I've dealt with playing a BST so my knowledge is pretty lacking. Makes even more sense now knowing there are multiple lines eventually.

I'm not sure if this is a bug or a problem on my end but my BST is no longer casting Fero.

Anyone having a problem with the CWTN plugins no longer accepting rezzes?
yup exactly what chat and mr. p said - you need to adjust your mq2rez settings - the cwtn stuff doesn't accept rezzes

Hi Sic, first of all thanks for the fero fix and second it seems BST is feroing when it drops on himself but he is not group watching for the buff and won't recast when it drops on others. Only noticed since to force rebuffs for things I click it off on my ranger, which I control myself, and noticed BST did not recast fero until I clicked it off on him.

the fix will have to wait until VV gets rebuilt - we have a bunch of changes that have just caused me a Git Nightmare for the last 2 hours, so we'll have to wait on that rebuild. (i'll ask red for one once test is patched and that is built)

On TLP (Riz) I noticed that Spirit Frenzy isn't used during the burn and Mend Companion doesn't seem to automatically get cast to quick heal our pets. Can we add Spirit Frenzy to the burn routine? And, add Mend Companion (or perhaps a toggle for it?) to the mending line but force it to cast (it only casts on the pet by default) if the pet's HP falls below 2500?

we already do use spirit as part of the tier'd burn - but it might be gated behind other requirements in the routine, so i'll look into it

i'll look at mend companion

I reinstalled everything. I forgot where I read it last time. on how to lock the Ui Size... lol .... Can someone tell me how to do that again? or tell me where are the instruction on how to maintain the Ui window save on the new size. Thank You.

howdy jchk - we can get you squared away no problem. just follow these instructions:

From the FAQ

Q. My UI window isn't saving the location
A. >CWTN UI Video< follow these steps:
1. move it to where you want it
2. close the window
3. /bst show to reshow it - eq will now have the window saved

Once you do that you should be good to go

Question regarding buffing - I have mq2cwtnbuffs loaded on all of my toons, but my beast doesn't buff anyone outside of group. I am not in a raid right now, but i have multipole characters all next to each other, all in same guild, but not in any raid.

Any way to get my beast to buff everyone that has the mq2cwtnbuffs loaded, in or out of raid / group?

well you can put people on your xtarget with xtargetbuffing turned on and those people get buffed (local computer mq2 characters that are on mq2cwtnbuffs)

or if you're in a raid with raidmode turned on, they'll buff raid members (local computer mq2 characters that are on mq2cwtnbuffs)

but just random people around you? no
