Foodpocalypse is my family’s tradition.

Turkey, sausage stuffing, homemade gravy from drippings, and crescent rolls.

Then… I get to play Clark Griswold and get out my giant rat nest of Christmas lights while fighting food coma!

Im a sappy person, and as I get older… the holidays are more about remember family and traditions we had with them. Holidays are great… and suck, but mostly great :)

Get me out of bed and into the wheelchair for an hour's ride to my daughter's home for the family dinner. Then the lovely ride back home and the transfer back to bed. It's a lot of effort and pain for me overall, but nice to see family. And God knows I love turkey day. Food is still a vice I refuse to give up. My daughter prepares a fantastic meal. Happy and safe turkey-day to all!!

working lol. Hoping to have the time to at least make a good steak on the truck. if not, maybe wherever i'm parked will have a restaurant open with good food available.

Life of a bacon hauler :)

I plan to spend time with my family and friends. This year I have not gone to visit my kids as much as I have in the past. I am finding as I get older those 6 hour road trips are getting harder and harder to do. But I do like to go for the holidays.

We host so I smoke a bacon wrapped turkey, burnt ends, brisket mac and cheese( also smoked), we go all out Turkey day is my fav!

I have 5 siblings and we all have families and for the last better part of a decade have hosted. Usually between 35-40 people here: eating, laughing, playing dumb games, sports, karaoke, you name it. It’s crazy and we love it.

This year we’re not. For a variety of reasons. So it’ll be my family of 4 and the quiet. We’ll see how it goes! (And obviously eat a lot)

We are very easy in our house. We all go to Denny's. Always open, no cooking, no cleaning, no extended family drama, and we often leave within an hour. Anyone is welcome to show up. Can't make it? No big deal, catch you next year. If i could just face time and get away with it, i would take that route.

Going up to Maryland to see my daughter. Not sure what is going to be happening food wise. The weekend before while I'm up there her mother and I will be getting the stuffs done for the Maryland carry permit. Then back to Texas. Flying out Friday, because flights were 1/3 to 1/4 cheaper on Friday than Saturday/Sunday.

MD has got some unusual permit requirements, but i've heard the process is pretty straightforward.

what part of MD are you heading to? I'm over on the Eastern Shore, the sunsets are breathtaking this time of the year.

My mum is back in AZ, won't be able to see her this holiday season - but still TallWife's family always does something on thanksgiving DAY, and then ShortWife's family was supposed to do something this past saturday, but great-grandma was in ICU, so lots going on for us here! It is a blessing all the families to visit - but man does it do a number on my waistline!

Lusby is where they live. Prince Frederick is where we are doing the permit stuff. I fly into DC and take the metro to Branch station and she picks me up. Easier on everyone than trying to drive into Reagan during holiday traffic.

My mother's family used to be big on Thanksgiving. Everyone is getting older, and doesn't want to travel. So it's slacked off. We used to have 60-70 people, one year everyone came in and we had 112 people. So we've started just doing our family, daughter, her mom, and I. In Texas we'd go to Saltgrass and then to a movie. So with no Saltgrass there, not for sure if she is going to cook something or find a restaurant situation similar to Saltgrass.

We stopped attending the family Thanksgiving years ago, ill be doing all the cooking for my family of 4 here at home. Typically sling out enough food for a small army and we eat on it through the weekend. Cooking is my second hobby outside of gaming so I tend to over do it around the holidays as well.

Same plan as every year Pinky...get FATTER.

Yes, yes, I shall give thanks for all I have, for more food than I have ability to fit into my tummy storage, and for all who cooked it for me. This thought will come about milliseconds from drifting off to slumberland, some vague dream concepts about pilgrims, hot native indian women (SHUSH its my dream) and turkeys pecking me to death may swirl around. 🐸

This Thanksgiving, my family and I will eat yummy food and watch cartoons on TV. After dinner, we will relax on the couch with dessert and just chill for the rest of the day. Oh... that's my wish at least. LOL

ya'll have any "go tos" for what to watch?

Think I will pass on this: Yes, it's real.
