Just used this on my rogue starting with level 96+ and it would go to one zone, gate back and just sit there. Once restarted, I bumped it up to the next level group (101, 106, etc) each time and it was the same. One zone then stop once back in pok. No matter what I tried, it refused to go to cobalt scar, the one place I was most hoping it would work, of course :)
Did you make sure the zones were checked for where you want to go. Do you have access to the standard guild hall? It uses that extensively to port around.
 
Is it possible to add gate potions to the mix? Philter of Major Translocation. It definitely uses the stein, but for those of us without the guild hall clickies, etc, we are stuck with gate potions or it sits there spamming the bind point is incompatible. Manually using gate potion, once gated, resumes moving on.

It is in there. It's just not the first thing it checks for. Where are you at when it spams the bind point is incompatable
 
My bind spot is guild lobby. I am using guild hall portal to get there. Once there, it buys the spell, but will not gate back. I can manually do it, but if my stein is on cooldown, it just spams the bind spot garbage. Not that big of a deal, I do it manually every time. In fact, I have yet to see it use the translocation pot in other zones too. Shard's Landing, Lceanium, etc.

Never had that issue before. Was the character in the background running scriber? I.e. responsive lag from not running in the foreground

Just watching the toon run to the portal and not clicking the yes button. I even tried to send the command /yes and it didn't do anything.
 
Must have been something with the mq update. I'll talk with some of the creators
 
For the most part, with a few travel gitches due to bad navmesh files or bad connection locs this runs really nice. Good stuff.
I found the issue with your situation, but I'm making changes anyway. In your macroquest.ini file there should be aliases for yes. If I remember correctly, there should be 4 of them. Including the one that you sent above. However after the next update, it won't be a problem anyway. I'm removing yes and learning how to click the dialog boxes using your statement above.
 
I used this just now. First Lua I've ever used since MQ launched. It is incredible. I ran an entire group of 110 characters on Test server to get spells last week, all by hand. It took some time. Most of a morning really. Figure out what zone to go to, move everyone, look for their class vendors, scribe everything I bought, rinse, repeat for next zone.

I fired this up for my freshly leveled Shaman, and figured "Ah what the heck, worst case it doesn't work for me and I just run by hand".
It worked nearly perfectly. What an awesome tool. Thank you for this.

The only problems I had were related to a navmesh for Ethernere. It couldn't find a path to the spell vendor. I had to run there manually.
The other minor problem has to do with zone connections on Test. Instead of gating to PoK to get to Guild Hall/Lobby it would attempt to take a wacky route through PoTime, The Void, Bloodied Kithicor, etc.
Neither problem necessarily to do with this Lua.

Again, awesome work. Thanks for the tool.

Gate is the first thing is supposed to use with the exception of plane of tranquility and stratos. So that's a little odd. There are 2 special nav meshes in the second post of this discussion thread to help navigate those areas. Ethernere is one of them. I don't use test so if there are differences from live to test, unfortunately your on your own for that one. I'm glad you like it. There are still improvements incoming. I'm just hitting the busiest time of year for work so I've not been able to update like I want
 
Great Lua script! does alot of the annoying tasks i used to do by hand.

Some issues/thoughts as I ran along just for your consideration are

In PoK didnt nav close enough to GL door
in small guild hall didnt nav close enough to portal setter (sometimes it did sometimes it didnt)
If you gate. and the gate portal fails. it does not re attempt to gate and go again. Same thing with you port to wrong location. No attempt to gate and try again
If you have the above error and manually gate you have to end the Lua and start again. pause/unpause does not make it run again from lobby.
 
Once i got to the point of using Guild clicky. The Lua script uses Palatial Guild Hall for nav Location, However my guild uses a Modest Guild Hall. The nav just continuously loops through guild hall / Sunrise / Guild Lobby because you never reach Palatial Guild Hall unless you have one
 
Ran Scriber today with a shaman which had differrent spells missing of serveral old expansions. Worked really greate upto Eastern Wastes.
In ETWK he couldn't find a path to the spellvendor. But I ran there manually and opened the vendors shop, and all proceeded from here. (have seen mesh on first page after the run).
Lceaneum seemed very interesting for my shaman, he went there twice :) but not without switching guild-portal and visiting another zone within between.
Much more fun watching the toon doing his purchases, than trying to rembemer all the places to go and visit them manually.

Looks like a fantastic alternative to good old scribe.mac !

Run into a problem on a 120 mage with most spells missing 86+, bound in GL, access to regular guild hall

/lua run scriber
Gated to GL run to POK and scribed 86-90 from library and that's it.:bug

no matter how many times I restarted it from different zones, scriber would do nothing.

That is if I did not adjust slider above 90 it would attempt to go to POK again, but otherwise it would do nothing no matter whether I am in POK, GL, or plain GH.

Scriber.Lua sits in ~/next/Lua
while Merchants.Lua and Write.Lua sit in ~/next/Lua/Scriber folder

All Zone Specific Options are checked (default)

hey i think this is missing a few druid spells in argath. Perfected blood and some others are cleric + druid spells, so you need this change in merhcants.Lua:

argath = {
...
DRU = {"Wonav", "Prilt", "Ephinia"},
...
}
 
This addresses the /yes command by changing
Code:
mq.cmdf('/yes')
to
mq.TLO.Window('LargeDialogWindow').Child('LDW_YesButton').LeftMouseUp()

and in the Merchant.Lua as well as the navmesh that you might need for the vendors across zone

Ran this on a higher level toon, worked great up to Eastern Waste Two. Buys and scribes the spells but then just stands there, like the script is caught in a delay loop.

Could be I don't have the expansion. :)

This version adds rogue sneak/hide if you dont have the shroud aa. Also, when you use bulwark of many portals for your gate, when you empty one it tries to use it and says no charges left even if you have more than one in your inventory. This will destroy the empty bulwark.
 
Went to run it this morning to make sure I had everyone up to date, and found an issue with it.

My cleric goes to find the first spell vendor by the name of "Vicar Glaunn", I have no idea who that is, it's none of the 1-70 spell vendors on Riz anyway, that we currently have with the TSS expansion. First guess is that it's a vendor added for lvl 70-75 spells in another expansion or two, but regardless it kills the Lua, at step #1.

the second travelto Guildhall I launched manually and it worked.
My doubt: the first attempt initiated by Scriber as issued a tic to early, preventing to work as expected.
OFten it works as expected, sometimes this error occurs.

Actually I a running 3 chars, and it happened multiple times, not only from GL to Gh but also from GL to Tranquillity and other targets.

This is a great tool which helps to ease a otherwhise looong duty. Even with some hickups, it's a great helper to get all the missing stuff.
 
I cannot get this Lua to get me out of the standard guildhall.... it does POK fine, but everytime it goes to the standard guild hall, it messes up on the portal switch and gets stuck.

I was just running it and it seems to be running fine for me.....

If you need any info on what it's doing I will be happy to discuss. Maybe you can help me figure out what im doing wrong (which is nothing Im hands off letting it run and it just dorks up in the standard guild hall)
 
Are you running the EQ window in the foreground with at least 30 background FPS minimum? I had a few characters getting stuck in the guild hall because I was tabbed to other windows, and they wouldn't buy/hand in the stone (or sometimes take the teleporter to the previously set/ wrong place.) Works perfectly when I have it in the foreground though, and I love it dearly.

Last time I tried it on a necro, no plugins loaded, character in the foreground, it would walk up to the guild portal, open merchant, do nothing, then walk into the guild portal and stand there. When i did it on my bard, it would get in an endless cycle of going to argath over and over.

sorry this is several months behind but just to address what you said...
when traveling, I use /travelto "location" unless in special places that have a avoidance like cobalt scar or ETWK
again, with the portal setter, I'm using /nav spawn npc "name of npc" so yes, issue with scriber, no not something I can fix because it deals with easy nav
Gate, I do not attempt to gate again because its caused issues in the past so I had to remove recasting all together. I'll try it once, but then it is your turn to make sure there wasn't something else cause an issue
the above error is supposed to remedy itself once you hit the lobby. I have a check in there for that so I don't know if its getting lost in itself or what. I'll look through scriber again and make sure there isn't something else I can do to help remedy some of these issues

I've never seen the modest guild hall I'll see if I can find a way to make it work better for the other guild halls other than the palatial
