Release Scribe.mac 7-3-2021

No permission to download
This isn't scribing for me on Emu server. Also buys duplicates of any spell in top inventory slot.

Thanks for letting us know. I'm pretty sure I'm not setup to log into an EMU anymore. When I get the chance to get setup I'll see if I can track down the issues. A lot of information that was available to us on live might not be available on EMU, so I'll have to get on there and run some tests to try and track down the issue. It might not be immediate, but I'll get to this.

I've upped an unlisted video of the process if it's any help to you. To clarify, the mac runs, appears to correctly purchase all spells then closes containers without scribing. When the mac is run again, it buys a duplicate of any spell in the top inventory slot (in this case Holy Armor and Strike) then closes containers. It's a semi custom UI. That is, it's default apart from a few windows I made myself. I've tried using the completely default UI and I get the same result. This is the RoF2 client on my own private LAN server. This is the scribe.mac included in the emu compile that begins:

| scribe.mac - Sym 9.4.2012
| Updated 01/14/2018 ~ Chatwiththisname

Here's the video:

I used it on all my chars, even old ones I thought had em all. Just gotta open up tradewindow before running the mac. Great work!

@Sumatai I appreciate the video. The issue is more code based. I don't know if it is opening the bags, and finding the contents of the slot or not. If it is, can you right click to memorize spells, if it is finding the items and it's acknowledging their presence, then if you can't right click on the items I need to code in a way to recognize that you're playing on an EMU server and then setup a new method of memorizing the spells.

[Questions]
Can you right click to memorize a spell.

Is this for an RoF2 build?

Can you run a macro called data.mac for me to gather the datatypes and their members so I can review the relevant sections to ensure they have supported TLO's and members that are being used (I've attached the macro)?

Please run the macro by typing
Code:
/mac data
and then reply with the answers to these questions, as well as attaching the Data.ini file that is generated by data.mac

I can right click the spell bar slots to mem a spell if that's what you mean?

The client is RoF2

The mac ran but did not generate an ini file.

Noticed something else. When running the scribe mac a second time, it buys a duplicate spell for inv slots 9 and 10 only. That's EQType 31 and 32. But honestly, don't waste your time on this just for me. Just purchasing the spells makes me happy enough, it's no big deal scribing them.

Is this possible to be edited this to make it buy the spells in order of level? For when lvling lower chars and setting up camps in some zones u can buy 20-30 levels worth of spells problem is it rotates between highest lvl and lowest lvl till they are all bought. Example it bought a lvl 36 spell then bought a lvl 50 spell next. With plvling speed and such it probably isnt even worth the time to add but if bored would be awesome IMO.

You can do it by level "/macro scribe 33 33"

or by a range "/macro scribe 33 35"

Open up the spell or tome vendor and type /mac scribe
If you already purchased the tomes or spells then just type /mac scribe to scribe them.

Can confirm that it wont scribe spells on eq emu. It is awesome to buy them all though =)

p.s. It will scribe warrior disc books because they can be right clicked. Spells can't be right clicked though :/ Maybe EQ Emu devs will fix that sometime.

The only issue I have had is that it skips the first spell or tome every time after buying them when it goes to scribe them. I just go back and right click the first one that was left in my bag.

Love this Macro! Thank you. As an addict for creating new toons, leveling them up to 105 quickly..this is a godsend for buying spells/tombs. Much appreciated.

Lol woops...

I incorporated took this from MuleAssist and then figured I might as well update the other stuff for emu. There's also some bug fixes coming. Will update tomorrow.

Alright, should be set and stable now for Emu. It has to manually place spells in the book and turn the pages of the book for emu servers. Other functionality was not changed.

On live, I'm leveling up Berserkers and they will not scribe the tomes. I have to manually click them. Happened for multiple times for levels 50-65

Hi guys,

Playing on test, having issues with most recent version.. tried with both cleric and shammy and in both cases, the mac will buy all the scrolls, fill up the slots, then start memorizing, but it actually isnt memorizing, it just picks up the scroll to the cursor, then drops it, and then gets stuck..

when i reverted to an older version of scribe.mac, it worked fine.

Can confirm today its working fine, bought all and scribed

what classes did you try with? I'm just curious, as my zerker was able to learn all its missing tomes and the macro worked properly, but for whatever reason my cler/sham both failed, and with the same issue, of the scroll "being scribed" getting stuck on my cursor.. I wonder if i was getting conflicts from any plugins or anything, hard to tell.. I'll have to make some new casters and try again..

i used a bard

Looking forward to giving this a shot when I get home later.

Just one question, anyone have a clue, like a ball park, of how much it would cost to scribe all the spells from 1-90? More just curious

I dont know about 90 but easy its 40k+ to get to 80

Thank you for the tip about opening the vendor first. I was stuck and came to look for the answer and here it is! I just started a FTP group of DRU BRD MAG MAG MAG MAG so this is a huge time saver, thanks!

There's a small bug in this where if you have a spell already and it buys it, it won't be able to scribe it because "You cannot scribe a stack of spells, please use only one of that scroll to scribe."

weird, looks like it has the ctrlkey check

I actually did have an un-related reproducible issue with mod keys elsewhere - i wonder if those *are* somehow related

I misunderstood your issue, i understand now =D

FYI tried using this today and the characters will not automatically go to "buy" the spells now. If I type /mac scribe 94 105 it opens the bags to look but doesn't go to purchase. Using MQNext.

I think scribe.mac only scribes what is in your inventory, if open a spell vendor and then run it, it will buy the spell and scribe it. You should try pokscribe.mac
This on runs around pok and scribes all needed spells available.
