Issue Fixes

  • Authentication: When authenticating, the app will no longer freeze if the browser is closed without finishing the auth process. However, the app currently has to be restarted afterwards for auth to succeed. Working on this bug.
  • Plugins/Other Resources: will now sort by Last Updated Date
  • Plugins/Other Resources: Last Updated Date is now color coded. Green at or above current released version, Red there is a new version available.

Really like the updater. I started using it just after the patch. Nice to be able to see when something was updated and when it was downloaded last. Would be nice to be able to resize the screen to display all content, the macro tab is just a little small.
 
I am working on the resizing but left that as a 1.5 or 2.0 function. It will get there I promise :D. I can make it just a wee bit bigger so that the macro page fits though. Will take a look at that after I get it ready for beta.

No exact ETA yet. It's required for the Beta server right now, if no issues are reported in the next week we'll make it required for Test server.

Live server will have a slower rollout, we'll change documentation & newbie videos first to give people a chance to switch over.

Excellent. Looking forward to trying it on Test as it's my main server.
 
Technically you can use it now. Its fully operational for all server types. It just hasnt been fully vetted yet as we need more testing and feedback from the community.
 
Launcher became unresponsive yet not listed as "Not Responding" by task manager. Windows 10.

MQ2 loaded for Live and Test. Character logged in on Live. EQBCS2 running.

Clicked on Update for Test, used the window to locate my MQ2 install location. Clicked ok. Clicked update again, It verified if the release folder is what I wanted. Said it was installing and relaunching applications. Relaunched EQBCS2 then just froze. Still says that it is relaunching applications. It closed MQ2 for test, but never relaunched it. Icon was still in the taskbar tray but disappeared on hover.

I tried to reproduce this issue this morning, however everything seemed to work ok. I will try again once I get home from work. One thing I did notice is that I am not updating the status messages once the applications are relaunched, so it will keep the same status until another function updates it (i.e. going to the plugisn tab).

What I tried so far:
  1. Loaded MQ2 for Live
  2. Loaded MQ2 for Test
  3. Start EQBCS2 from Test install location
  4. Logged a toon into Live
  5. Updated Test from the new launcher
Did I miss anything Panda?
 
Yes, however my full documentation was poor, Sorry.

I also had the older version of the updater in place. Removed it through Windows' Add or Remove program. Installed the new version from this resource page. Then went through the tests.
Maybe a remnant that caused the issue for me after the uninstall / reinstall?

I will attempt to replicate the issue again once I get home today.
 
Without an uninstall and reinstall, I am unable to reproduce the issue.
Seems like it was a fluke issue. It also properly relaunched mq2 for test and eqbcs2.

Awesome program, specially for the plugin and macro update. You did a very nice job on it. Congratulations, u deserve them.

Now i just can't wait for the official release :P
 
Question
so with "Login tokens are user AND machine specific. "
does this mean you will need multipull level 2 accounts in order to run RG's MQ2 on 2 seperate machines on a home network ?
 
No it just means you cant copy the encrypted token file to another machine, you would have to authenticate again. Same goes for another user on the machine. Nothing to do with Level 2, just the security around the application being able to log in is all
 
My zone and charselect config files aren't working anymore after using the launcher. Any suggestions?
 
I use one for zoned and one for character select.

Utility - Setting EQ Window Titles

This is very simple, but after what took me way too long to find the info, I figured I'd create a guide for other idiots like me. Open your MQ Folder -> Release -> Configs. Within your Configs folder, you have 2 cfg files. 1 titled CharSelect...

did you install to a different directory perhaps? can you open those files up and see any changes from what you had before?
 
@bb4 The next version of the tool will accommodate local changes to those two files. I should be able to get a new version out later today. Sorry for the inconvenience :(

Installed to same directory. I decided to live life on the edge and risk it for the sake of testing.

@bb4 new version is up. The update process will no longer overwrite those files if they already exist. Sorry again for that.
