I used the anniversary tower to mass equip my team but it is seasonal and only once a year. Anyone have other good methods?

check for t1 group gear that is tradable on the bazaar (the base item, which you no-fail craft) for whatever highest xpac you can get. it is very viable starting point.

then do whatever missions you can - even if you go back an xpac or two, the type 5s are huge if you're missing, plus you'll get type 7s and gear/spells that you need.

Can you say this dumber for me or point me to the quests you're referring to?

Questing, farming plat, killing named. Doing one open raid so you get access to raid merchant then buying gear from him. Mobs man mobs. The point of having a bot team is being able to kill on your own.

t1 gear - every other expansion the t1 group gear is bazaar tradable https://ls.eqresource.com/groupgear.php

you can get the non-visable items like that, the visibiles (armor) pieces are crafted from a pattern piece https://ls.eqresource.com/creatingarmor.php

the quests are missions - each expanion has missions that you complete to get currency, Laurion Song had 2, but most expacs these days have 4, tbl had 7 or 8 (which was awesome, even if tbl sucked).
eqresource is another good resource to find out the mission details and whatnot.

Is that raid gear that you purchase from the raid merchant prestige? What currency does it need?

over time getting to know some others from random interaction on your server can mean forming like voltron and doing raids on your own with a couple other like minded players. even if your 125. the T2 gear form NoS is still better than LS/ToB group gear. and to be honest a couple of the NoS raids are complete pushovers at this level/aa standpoint. untl than all the above suggestions are great ideas for sure.

this is just my opinion but even though RG enables us to do a lot on our own. norrath still has a social element to it. so finding others to box with shuold be just as important as finding the gear to do so. herein lies the rub ... given the nature of what we do (cheat) meeting others in game is not an easy task and it takes time to build a level of trust etc. but it is possible!

100% peak eq/mq imo, is a couple of friends who are doing the same shit. Sometimes that just looks like co-play, sometimes that is teaming up, sometimes that's parceling some shit.

The currency is from the missions and raids in the expansion you are doing..... so, if you are doing say Laurion's Song Missions and raids, you will get currency for that expac there....
you can see your currency in your character tab under the Alt Currency tab

My method is use the bazaar! I can go farm plat faster and easier than I can take down named for drops. I am not a very efficient or talented player and don't raid.

Usually spend more time looking stuff up and trying to figure out what to do than actually doing much in game lol.

That being said, what levels are they? My mid team was only about 115 during Tower so what they got is only about 6k stat. But that is all they could buy. Now they are moving on up in levels and I am looking at what's in the baz. Stuff like this:

For 125 I am picking up these pieces when I see a cheap one in the baz Obscured Chest Armor of the Enthralled makes a nice 13-14k item (from tob)

For 120 I went with the Faded stuff from TOL armor like Waxing Crescent Mindlock Robe. About 8-9K stats. Again I bought the pieces in the baz and the other 2 items to make the combing can be bought off merchants.

We also have a lot of TA and rots offered on my server. So that might be an option - I avoid them but nice stuff does come up.

But if you want the best then you need to raid.

hell ya, i still enjoy the social element of eq ... just not with normal eq players haha

I'm on a TLP and raid with my box crew, so they are always in current raid gear! IMO by far the best way to keep them geared

I use Laurions inn for type 5 augs (the entire area respawns each hour with a chance for rares; look up for djinns, efreetis, liches and spectres). You also get all vis and some non vis items this way for other slots.

I only box 6 (no way I could do more!). And I tend to, as stated above, do the group mission for the currency, whatever it may be, and named for the armour drops, or, as stated above, trawl the bazaar for what is needed. I tend to find that as long as my tank and, to a lesser extent, healer are ok, geared, the rest can be got at a more leisurely pace!

I run a 6 man team. I tend to use these rules and techniques

1) Tank eats first. A beefy tank who can take hits for a bit goes a long way towards team success
2) Healer is next
3) DPS get mission level weapons and gear to increase their DPS. If the tank does his job they rarely take a hit so AC is done after everything else

I farm missions for armor linings and other gear. I also use MQ2Grind to garther the raw materials for ts. If you want to equip you team efficiently, then TS Are a must

1) Early on in a level-increase expansion, the TS armor is quickly obtained as we are leveling and maxing AA. Got to be a blacksmith
2) Augs (like type 18/19) are a must for lore based augments. Maximize Jewlery. Yoiu can also make earrings, rings and other enhacements. It's cheap if you have farmed the materials
3) Food and Drink are nice little additions - also free for the most part if you are farming the mats. Baking/Brewing for the win.

Secondary levels fgor TS
1) Charms - Pottery
2) Some weapons and most shields require Fletching. Also, cheap of free when you are farming all the mats

Most of this can also be sold in the bazaar for plat to fill in the holes. I'm just a single group and I easily clear 30m in the bazaar every month with things I see - either TS items or drops from Gringing.

I am probably insane but im just grinding completing each expansion one after another.
Each expansion so far I choose one character to be my first toon to gear up and they get the first of any of the expansion armor.
I started back with most toons 90-95 and started back in May halfway through HOT now im almost done with TDS and they all just hit 118 and as of now most have COTF or TDS gear.

My tank gets 2nd set if it is are than 1 expansion behind.

A lot of good info here. Some rules I live by:

1. Tank eats first. Even if it’s a smaller/minimal upgrade.
2. Don’t take it too seriously.

That’s about it! It’s always more fun with (the right) people. The beefier the tank, the more content you can take on, so it’s more drops for everyone else.

For most, traceable T1 stuff is fine. Missions for the type 5s. For the type of type 5s, lots of opinions. I do hdex on my SKS and dps, balanced on my warriors, and stamina on everyone else for the hps. It helps takes decisions out and I have a plan for everyone!

It’s also handy to keep a spreadsheet of all the toons and their gear because it can get confusing once you go past 6, especially with augs.

Rolled a new team - enjoyed going back to the old world zones . Got a couple of Fungi Tunics, Swift Blade of zek, Blade of Carnage, and a Seb Croaking Dirk. May not be the efficient way but a lot of fun and good memories LFG.

don't forget augs, they are like gear for your gear

A good point, I'll start a new thread on that. Where are people farming their augments from? I had previously gotten the anniversary tower, and LS type 5 augs of named. Anyone have any other suggestions for good camps for augs? Is there a nice cluster of named that are a good camp for boxers?

there's no reason for a new thread.

the type 5s and some of the type 7s i already mentioned in the first reply in this thread.

there are several from the last couple xpac missions - and then you can check eqresource for type 7s. for type 5s i'd just keep doing the current missions and max out as you can

also - for absolute trashcan toons, dont forget there are some mage summoned type 7s you can use to gap-fill

Type: Augmentation
Aug: 7,8 or 5 or whatever type aug you want
Order/Scoreby: HPs, or AC if you're a tank, or hDex if you're a dps. You get the point.

Not only will this give you a list sorted from top to bottom of what you're looking for, but you can limit it by expansion. It gives the mob that drops it (Or calls out how to obtain it, like a Type 5 that is bought with currency) and everything.

For bonus points, copy/paste that list into that excel sheet I referenced earlier :)

My team is all group geared. Its pretty easy to get solid stats even with just group armor. I go for the tradeskill group armor in every slot. Each piece is called something something of uprising for ToB. You need a no drop item from a named and combine it with a tradeskill player made item from bazaar. I do alright, and the team bulldozes anything in the group game. SK, Shm, Bard, Rog, Monk, Ber.

I just take a full group and kill rares for level 1 gear. Redguides makes it pretty easy. Dont miss those days when they have better percentage rare spawns. You will gear up quick.
