thanks for the purchase! don't forget to check out the > Getting Starged with CWTN < vid/guides as there is decent amoutn of adjustments depending on your usage.

your error msg - that isn't an issue with mq2shaman specifically - it looks like you have a launcher issue downloading mq "next".

if my really piss-poor German is any good that says that you can't update "next" eqlib because it is in use by another process.

you might want to restart your computer and re-patch fully.

but also the cwtn plugins sync up licenses with "next" every 4 hours, so your downloads show that you are trying to download MQ "Next" but are downloading mq2shaman for mq2 and not NextShaman for MQ "Next".

unfortunately that means that to sync up, it is going to be 0-4 hours before the server syncs up and you can download mq2shaman via the launcher

Didn't expect it to be as complex at it seems to me.
I'am an old oldfashioned guy who may could handle some step by step written instruction better than video guides.
Pc is off for today, but still attempting to understand, what to do on next attempt tomorrow.

sorry dragon, I'm not sure if i was unclear in the message above.

you have 2 things working against you at the moment.

1. you are having an issue with the launcher downloading the patch - easiest fix is to restart and hit the launcher again. currently it thinks a file is in use and can't patch while it is in use. this could be for a number of reasons, like antivirus, or game is loaded with toons running, etc.

2. "Next" licenses get sync'd every 4 hours, 6 times a day, like in that link i shared above with the longer answer. until your next license syncs you won't have access to the plugin on mq "next".

For the Rez clickie, can we get the target on it like "Using Item: Staff of Forbidden Rites" on target.

It moves so fast on raids, I miss it.

I mean I could, but it would require reworking since our item usage doesn't report that.

what actual value are you getting from it? it fires and changes back target so fast i don't see how that information actually helps you much in the moment

If we have a situation on a raid where alot of people are dying, I toggle back to the shaman and look at the output. I see it cast the rez but I don't know on who, so I can't chew their ass if they are just slacking to come back in or it rezzed a different person.

if you have showtargeting turned on, you will see every swap it makes if that's important to you

Its not going to be a "i'll just do that tonight" update, because a few things will have to be swapped around to accommodate that, so maybe/maybe not soon situation.
 
ok not sure if anyone has had this problem, but I am running into an issue with the Shammy that when ever he zones he keeps trying to mem "swift like the Wind" but then plugin freezes with the spell book open and does nothing else until I close the spell book and then he remems the spell that was originally in my swap slot, but not only that but "Swift like the Wind" is not his best haste spell, he has "Talisman of Celerity" both AA and spell.

if you have talisman of celerity AA we would only try and use the actual haste spell on a pet specifically if they were missing the haste buff.

if you're getting stuck in your spellbook you likely have an issue with your background frames as mentioned in the FAQ. You don't want automation trying to take place in the background while starving it of juice to do work.

Q. I sometimes get stuck in my spell book?
A. This is often due to your background fps not being high enough. It is strongly advised to utilize at LEAST 30 fps for background, recommended 60+ background fps. The fps cycle for eq is where "work" is done. If your background fps is set to "min" you can and will have undesired results with all sorts of automation activities.
Alt-O -> Display -> Advanced - > Max Background FPS
You will also need to check if you are using any external background fps limiting software - like isboxer - and adjust that accordingly.

Thanks for the question, I noticed that this wasn't one of the items in the > Getting Started With the CWTN Plugins < link, and it should definitely be, so my apologies for that.

for the caster toons we already default a "loose" stick, which is intended to help eliminate that issue, this is particularly noticable with beastlords and their sha's reprisal AA spell - eq/mq will show/look like they are done casting, but if they move too quickly, it will actually not allow the spell to "finish" so we default those castery types to a loose

I'm going to make a new post and sticky it and add it to the getting started thing, but here is the answer specifically:

In February 2021 we added some additional "StickHow" options to the plugins. They come with a default list for their character type and then a bunch more (10 total) pre-populated "StickHows".

The "stick" stuff is from mq2moveutils if you need a reference

- StickHow has been replaced with StickSelection, with StickHow0 - StickHow9 options available.
-- AS ALWAYS the "stickhow" options are only for during an assist mode.
-- The default for "castery" classes has been updated to be more functional for castery classes
-- AS ALWAYS Do not use percent signs in the stickhow listings, unless you double percent it like: 55%%.
--- You will crash otherwise.
-- So if are currently using a custom StickHow you will want to ensure you go and update your StickHow0. Since the StickSelection is 0.
-- There are now (10), yes that many, StickHow0-StickHow9, options you can pre-define in your settings ini.
-- The UI window now has a dropdown for stickselection choice
-- you can also swap with slash command /zerk stickselection 2

This is the only thing in the cwtn plugins that you have to open your mq2pluginname_toonname.ini and edit directly. Long term this will be adjusted to allow for changing/setting them with a slash command, but at this time you have to edit it directly in the .ini.

for MacroQuest "Next" the location would be in your config->CWTN folder under the pluginname_toonname.ini --- for example, MQ2BerZerker_zerkerdude.ini
for MacroQuest2 "Legacy" the location is ->Release pluginname_toonname.ini for example MQ2BerZerker_zerkerdude.ini

This is an example of what that section looks like for MQ2BerZerker:
The 0, 1, and 2 are "useful" pre-populated entries, and the rest are just "dummy" entries, with the intent that you would change them to meet your needs.

and on the fly you could /ber stickselection 2 or /ber stickselection 8 of if you're using the cwtn/cwtna aliases in the Sic's HotKey Guide you could just /cwtn stickselection 2 and have the rest of your group swap to their populated stickselection 2

My first use was at Zlandicar. B4 the fight started, he insisted to constantly run towards to the NPC to zone out. All other group member have been positioned at the dragon at that stage.
To stop him running away I had to /shm pause on
After the fight started I unpaused and the fight was running as expected.
The whole further session went fine. Learned also a couple of tricks I weren't aware of.
Will dive deeper in the available Infos, but for now after first successful session I am happy with this plugin.

re: zoning in - you probably had a camp set at the entrance when you zoned in, upon changing zones you would place your camp where you zoned in.

I normally leave my entire group (sans the tank) in mode 2 so they just automagically follow my MA assigned tank even after zoning. with huntertank modes and manually driving around, i almost always leave everyone else in mode 2 so they just follow me and do their job. maybe give that a try and see if that is for you

otherwise, you will want to mode 0 to clear your camp, move where you want to go, then mode 1 to set your camp in the new location. You can tell what your camp is by the red circle on your map

in the > CWTN Info < i have a hotkey/movement guide which will go over some of these things, might be worth checking out > here <

but yeah, if you have a camp, and you move out of your camp, you're going to run back.

Often ma=puller so 2 would might cause doubts at the other groubmembers in my evening sessions ;)
I've got the luck to have a full group of real players for about 2h each day to hang around with.

Does not prevent receiving bad frontal ae's or riposte, but much less movement.
When bad mob(s) arriving I strafe to the side of the mob. Dps in hybrid mode today seems much better, than yesterday in dps mode.

the stances change your spell loadouts "dps stance" loads more damage abilities than hybrid or heal. that's it

the dps spells you have in hybrid would be the same you have in dps, just dps would have more dps spells loaded.

This is the first item in all of the FAQs, and something explained in the CWTN UI information video.

you save the settings by issuing them with slash commands.

so if you wanted to change your assistat value and have it saved you would /shm assistat #

A. This is intentional. The UI acts as a "hot swap" allowing you to adjust on the fly. If you want to "save" your settings, adjust it with the slash command.

yes - of course... , and at least in the foreseeable future there will not be one for a number of badcoding and logistical reasons.
 
Question regarding DPS Stance, nuking, and TLP. I have one shaman in DPS mode, dots on, nukes off, but he only mems 2 of his 3 dots, and leaves his DD memmed.

He has the following dots available: Blood of Saryn, Breath of Ultor, and Bane. Yet, what he loads is Blood of Saryn, Breath of Ultor, and Velium Strike (DD). Any chance in an update we could have shamans load up their 3rd dot in place of the DD when DD is turned off?

We intentionally don't change loadout based on usenuke or usedots being on or off, as folks might want to toggle that for a fight or a mob, and it would be a hassle if your loadout changed in between mobs - the second you had no aggro on xtarget - because of that, so that's not going to change.

you can byos and load up any spell the plugin says it has if you prefer a loadout in a certain way.

having said that i'll take a look and see if swapping the velium strike is preferable as the ColdDD is just a "let's put this here if we don't have other stuff to put here".

also, your gems appear out of order - did you manually swap your gems around at some point and then load the plugin? because that isn't how they would load. I did notice that dps stance we actually won't load mending either, so i'll fix that while im here.

and we put bane in gem7 if you have useavatar turned off, otherwise gavatar/avatar goes there

I think it makes sense to toss the HexDot in that gem5 slot before coldDD if we have a hexdot and before we get lioness, so good suggestion, i'll make that change.

You will probably want to consider making the swap over to MacroQuest "Next" sooner rather than later, as the rebuilds of MQ2 are much less infrequent, and some updates aren't getting backported to MQ2
 
Shm's grouphot triggers Synergie-effect (once all related aa bought) putting an 'song' (short therm-buff) on any group member which will beef up any direct heal landing by somewhat 21k hp, similar like Clerics groupheal does. When in healing stance, is there a way to get the grouphot recast whenever shammy is idle and the short term-buff is worn?
For me it seems, that actually the grouphot is recast when it has run its course (which is fine for me for all stances but healer)
Maybe one more parameter like: GroupHotRecastOnIdle for future updates?

if we're in heal or hybrid stance and we have xtargets, we already keep up our renewal Heal over Time on our MA, which was added in november of 2020 during pre-release (and this is the *actual* only functional difference of the "stances" which primarily do your loadout).

Synergy benefits the next 3 lvl 100 and higher instant cast heals. we're not going to recast the HoT over itself. Shammies have plenty of spell casting to do. re-casting something that we're already getting the benefit from is a waste of a cast imo.

so no, I'm sorry, we're not going to make that change and definitely not on the toggle option.

you might want to consider another tool to do that like an mq2react if you want to just chain cast that while sitting around idle, just be aware that trying to use more than one automation tool can and will get you conflicts.

It waits til combat has ended, loads counteract poison/abolish disease and cures itself, and then begin to cast Blood of Nadox for the rest of the group. It'll use Radiant Cure in combat, but just won't use Blood of Nadox til it has cured itself.

Blood of nadox/avoiling does have some specific handling, but that should be to only use blood of nadox for poison and disease, so there might be some wires crossed.

are you frequently in this situation in a way that i could pm you a fix to test?

Yeah, there are a lot of mobs currently that spam AETash line, so it's a pretty easy test.
 
Also, another interesting note about curing while you are looking at it, if you have both a curse and poison/disease at the same time, it won't even Remove Greater Curse anyone til the poison/disease are gone.

it checks if you have a debuff it can remove, it is ready to cast it removes it, then does the check again, if you still have something else it can remove (if the cast is ready), it will continue removing those are removed

again, specific debuffs here might shed some light as they likely have more counters than your cure cures or something

hrm. can you test this with the current 260 that you just downloaded? I made some adjustments to a few things that would have been in these recent updates. if you're saying earlier than 260, then i believe it is already fixed.

With next updating as frequently as it does it is really important to be running the current version when reporting an issue - it is a little challenging at the moment when RG isn't doing the next building as you don't see the individual plugin patch notes outside of mq2 being built.

re curing self first before moving on, yeah that's to be expected in the current implementation, if there is something it can cure on self, it'll do that before moving on to the next group member, and will cure the next group member until they are free and so on.

but as far as not curing poison/disease with nadox, that should be happening

Yeah, I'll report back as soon as I can and let you know if it is still happening. Just jumped into a raid so it'll be a bit before we hit a boss that will gives me problems with it.
