I have most of your mq2 class specific stuff, is awesome. I noticed my shaman never seems to slow mobs. What am i missing? I have useslows on. does he not slow in some modes?

none of the stances or modes change the actual behavior at all.

We also only care about the actual mob the ma is fighting. ( we use our virulent swarm if you have useslowaoe on, and you have 3 or more mobs in range. and the ma's target meets the other normal requirements.

if the mob is already pretty low once you get around to the slow part of your routine, you're not going to slow it - for the slow AA that is 50% mob health, for the slow spell (like lower lvl / tlp) that is 25% health.

or if it is already slowed with a percent that is higher than your slow.

more than likely the mob isn't inside your campradius, or you don't have your MA assigned.

it needs to be inside your campradius to nuke/dot/debuff

Sic Thanks for the reply. I have him in DPS mode, as I also have a cleric. I have just never seen him slow. He is doing great dps. Is there a way to make him slow the target with AA slow at like 95%? Is this a setting somewhere? I am testing on mobs that don't need to be slowed, but in higher zones, I kinda need them slowed pretty soon in.

it checks for slow and malo as the first thing it does after heals and before dots and nukes (well sends in pet at same time, but you get the idea)

I dont seem to see where my Shaman is casting any DOTs. He will cast slow / malo but nothing else. He will jump in behind the mob and melee though. I have tried it in DPS Hybrid and heals. m I missing something?

If your fights are too fast, meaning mob is too low health before he gets to his dot portion (80% unless named), he won't waste the cast. Mine dots as expected, and if u are engaging in melee then it's not an assist or campradius issue. I would also double check he's *actually* not casting dots.

Hi,

1) Question on BYoS: I still expected the Shaman to use the spells I load automatically (heal using the heal line loaded). When using BYoS he seems to stop doing anything. I expected BYoS + manual mode to be the full manual version but when in Assist still case automatically. I think I read a clue upthread here that implies it is totally manual. Can you clarify this for me and I'd also love to hear if it could work the way I expected if it is not that way now.

2) Now that my toons are all of an age to group together, I still need to use BYoS because the Shaman chain casts a high level buff that won't land on a lower level group member (shaman is 73 and monk is 48). It looks like he tries 3 times, then switches to another one, then switches back for 3 tries. If I could turn off buffs entirely it would prevent this I suppose. Any ideas? Do I have to blacklist buffs on this character until he levels up more (I think I read that this is possible?). I know I can flip on BYoB, load my low level buff spellset and buff him up myself and then turn BYoS back on, but then the spam cast issue comes back and it seems to slow the Shaman down and increase risk of death (I find if my low level char dies suddenly the Shaman starts being more awesome. I checked after a pull turned in to a train and I can see the spam in the in-game log window but no heal attempt at all. My monk, bard and wiz all died but my MQ2Shaman and MQ2Eskay managed the rest of the train as a duo, haha. )

1. he will use the spells that the plugin says he has when you load the plugin. you can't just toss in any spell.
2. you should block that buff on the lower lvl toons, or keep byos on. there's nothing in spell data that gives a max lvl a spell can land on.

Thanks for the reply.

I did notice this in your FAQ
Q. Shaman is chain casting something?
A. There are a few lower lvl / mid level buffs that eq/mq2 reports stack that do not. You either have this situation, your buffs are full, or some other issues. I would suggest checking for the red error text that eq gives you to tell you WHY it didn't successfully take hold and then go from there. You can block anything you don't want cast.

I searched and couldn't find the place to do this. Is it in the video perhaps? I am not able to watch it right now. A quick pointer here would be great!

My replies below contain feature discussion and I totally understand if you don't have time or plans to add them. I do development work so I get that well. Just thinking aloud. I don't really know what you have access to in the code so I have no way to judge how easy this stuff would be...

1. he will use the spells that the plugin says he has when you load the plugin. you can't just toss in any spell.
That would be a pretty cool feature of BYoS if this were possible. E.g. if asked to heal, look for the expected one but if not there see if any heal is loaded in the line.

Another interesting feature could be a BYoS gem number so I could, for example, take over only gems 8, 9. I could run these classic-box-style with socials (e.g. I could keep my lower level haste spell there to buff in combat... /shm byos on and /shm byos on 8,9)

there's nothing in spell data that gives a max lvl a spell can land on.
Tell me about it! Just trying to figure out what buffs to use manually is a real pain. I wonder if this would be possible to detect since the spell fast-fails (it does not cast, returns control almost immediately) and it prints a message that could perhaps be parsed for only when a spell fast-fails?

this is your red error text in your chat window that eq would give you

nah, unfortunately, as said before, it is specifically set up to use the spells in the lines that the plugin says it has. there are few exceptions with that in the cwtn plugin series - and it mainly has to do with there are many things that have to be considered with some of the rando spells and a bunch of other things that

these plugins aren't intended for granular specificity - if you want something that isn't mq2shaman, you will want to use something else that allows you to specify what/where/when/how/why - the whole point of them is so you don't have to do that work. the byos allows you some flexibility, but its not intended for completely redoing everything.

if you load up summon cool guy stick of doom - its not going to do anything with that

Is there a way to make the shm bandolier depending on stance?

IE heal stance use bando for that
dps use bando for that
IE when in heal stance i typically have my shm shield/spear
DPS sstance i have it 2hp

no, you can use an mq2react tho

/if (${CWTN.Stance.Equal[Heal]} && !${Me.Bandolier[Heal].Active}) /bandolier activate Heal

I was actually talking about that last part from the FAQ here:

The error message is something like "that spell is too powerful for your target". I was hoping for a pointer about where/how to add the blacklisted buffs for the character. I assume it is an ini but is there an example for syntax and such? I really just want to shut the buffs down long enough to PL my toon up to the group level and do away with these special concerns.

Thanks again for all the replies!

gotcha - that's a built in eq function

you can either right click on the spell and "add to blocked buffs"

of go eq button -> character -> blocked buffs

Hahah, Awesome, thanks! Another "returning player moment".
lol all good - lots of stuff like that

like assigning people to xtarget - some returning players are like "wtf is xtarget"
or autodismiss familiar in the familiars keyring

nope, haven't seen issues there - are you sure not only you are out of combat but also in fast regen?

(tho there is an issue if you're in raid mode where it continually is checking for corpses and doesn't continue onwards and do some of our other downtime stuff like buff - which is fixed for next update)

yup fixed next update.

when someone asked to be able disable it - I forgot to add it to the command line

Sic, I've been experiencing this same issues as well. I don't have rez stick but he's lvl 110 with the AA and in rested xp mode. Rez call is working in combat but I'm having to manually rez everyone currently.

Make sure you go into the alt+O option and auto-consent your group. Mq2Shaman tries to /corpse the body to them before rezzing. If they do not have consent the keep trying until they are on top of the corpse and then they rez.

if the corpse is greater than 10 away, it will keep trying to /corpse

utilize the eq-built in auto consent in your alt-o window

I have auto consent turned on and have a rogue with CWTN who brings it back to the shaman's feet if its far away. They can literally be underneath him and he doesnt do anything, he also is not doing /corpse like i have happen with the cwtn cleric plugin.

As i do every time someone says something isn't working - logged on some toons and went and tested it. Turned off rezcall and rezstick, left userez on.

I'm not sure what to tell you - Rejuvenation of Spirit rez works as expected.

Keep in mind - and this comes up occasionally (enough I'm going to add it to the FAQ). Rejuvenation of Spirit requires out of combat AND fast regen.
So if you're not back in fast regen, it won't because it cant.

their rez "spell" Incarnate Anew does not

Why do use a low-grade spell??
I have lv4 Composite roar spell..
but use lvl1 Dissident Roar spell...Is there a solution?

the only time you would use lvl 1 dissident over composite 4 is if you were wearing the TBL/ToV raid chest which gives you extended duration on dissident

Q. My old breastplate makes my old dissident last longer but the plugin wants to use the new version.
A. We don't look at your gear for what spell to use, we pick which spell is better. Currently don't have any plans on changing that. We will use Dissident if you are wearing tbl/tov raid t1/t2 bp after the next build from feb 12th 2021

Yup this. If my shaman is just in manual or vorpal mode he doesn’t sit down when out of combat so he never enters fast regen (gold swirly next to name) mode. As soon as I make him sit, he instantly starts rezzing. This has more to do with EQ requiring the fast regen mode rather than the plugin.

I know there isn't much to be done, just wanted to echo what's been said about the rezzing issue. I'm unfortunately having the same issue, have been for a few weeks now. The shaman is definitely in fast regen and out of combat, but still nothing. I've tried reloading the mq2shaman files and nothing. It works on another computer and I've even tried loading those files, but it doesn't change anything.

TheQwon's issue is because he was using a bad UI that didn't show fast regen - which is what mq2 uses for combat state.

You should check there. because it rezzes as expected when the information to mq2 is available

try

/echo CombatState: ${Me.CombatState}

I'm happy to keep looking if there is an issue, but without being able to re-create it its near impossible - lemme know

Yeah, the combat state returns resting. I also just verified that I have the same UI setup on the computer thats working and I do. I reset the ui to default, no difference. He's not even trying to summon the corpse to him, he just buffs and sits down.

So you have 1 pc it works as expected, and another it doesnt?

Correct, so I know it's working. It was working fine on the PC in question up until about a couple weeks ago, not sure if it had to do with a new build or what. I'm using the same configurations on both PC's. Is there another file that could have an issue besides the ini and the mq2shaman.dll?

you're unfortunately on test server, correct? (i say unfortunately because i have to rebuild everything to get a debug built for you)

Not sure what your seeing. Just messed up a Any run, ran back with sham, he rezzed and buffed.. group 3 sham hasnt had issue in kael when things go sideways..

I am on Test, sorry man, let me try a bunch of fresh installs and see if I can't fix it before you go through a lot of work.

Not sure on this, but Avatar seems to not be casting... Shammy is 67 toggle is on. The spell, Ferine Avatar, is getting memmed, but it hasn't been getting cast.

if you are in combat with useavatar on, it will cast it on your MA first, and then check your melee toons

beginning to think might have another issue that could be causing... have mage in group and they fighing for pet buff superiority tween mage aura "Earthen Strength" and the Shaman buff "Spirit of Might"
