MQ2Shaman

Plugin - MQ2Shaman (2 Viewers) 3.1.52471.11

So if I have a group member die my MQ2Eskay sits and stops pulling(great). Then my Mq2Shaman tries to /corpse summon the dead toon’s corpse but can’t because he does not have consent. So now we are just stuck with my shaman trying to spam summon the corpse.

Is there a setting on the CWTN plugins or is there a different plugin that will auto consent upon death? If not I think it would be a great addition.
everquest has auto consent built-in.

you should turn that on

I did. And then deleted my post. I guess I didn’t delete fast enough. Hopefully someone else learns from this. I’ve played since early 2000 and still feel like I am learning new things all the time.
@Ladon has his optimize.mac which might be handy for running on new toons - one of the things in that is turning on auto consent

Good to know! So, ...
1. when would you use `/shm pause on` versus `/shm mode 0`?

I really read/watched everything again and tried my best to gather all the questions I could at once rather than leak them slowly on to the forums. Here they are!...

2. I noticed my Shaman is using unneeded stat buffs >~50 when we are mostly at cap. I see there is an option for no SoW line, but can we turn of the str/dex/agi/etc lines that do not also add attack or haste? Something like `usePureStatBuffs`? This seems like a common need on live servers so maybe I just missed it or it is supposed to happen automatically? It seems like a possible workaround would be to toggle on BYoS and just not load those buffs (which is a pretty cool way to take control anyway) it just seems like this would be cool to have. At 55 he is pretty much out of mana all the time so I'm looking to optimize mana use a bit.

3. `UseMelee` off should stop the Shaman from running in and hitting things right? If so this seemed to get bugged on a raid. I just want to confirm this is what the option does. I don't have enough info to report a bug but I can keep an eye on it. I was in Assist mode and Heal stance at the time. Do I HAVE to use the /shm command? The FAQ seems to say this.

4. What is "XTarget". This is skipped in the video. Update: I figured this out as the FAQ mentions this uses extended targets. I assume this is for out-of-group stuff, like when on a raid. It would be nice to have this info in a more obvious place.
4b. Followup question: Who can run `mq2cwtnbuffs`? Anyone with MQ2?

5. What are "Reporting" commands? I hoped this would cause the toon to gsay info.

P.S. I'm asking some of these in the hopes it can help improve the docs as well.
P.P.S. Should I have posted this in the discussion thread from the plugin page?

1 - pause pauses the plugin from doing anything - mode 0 just doesn't set a camp or do melee assisting stuff - it still does all the shaman stuff like heal and buff and such

2. - you can block any of those spells you don't want on the toons that don't want them - this is an everquest feature - if we check that someone needs a buff and its a blocked buff - we don't cast it on them

those low lvl tlp buffs were requested so many times i added them - they're not used at higher lvls - and i don't intend on doing a toggle - because folks will want a toggle for xy but not z or yz but not x. block anything you don't want to receive buffs from. or byos and then handle your buffs/spells manually like you mentioned

3. if you have /shm usemelee off - it does not melee assist - if you want to "save your settings" yes you have to use the slash commands as talked about in the FAQ and the cwtnui vid - the ui is a "temporary toggle state" from what your current setting is now. like if you had to make a change in a pinch - and then come back and log back in tomorrow you wouldn't have forgotten that you had changed your stuff. but 100% if you have usemelee off, we don't melee

4. xtarget - this is your xtarget window - your extended target window. this is an eq thing - you can add non-group members to xtarget to do things to them - like add tanks/healers for healing etc.
> Extended Target Window Info <
1614727995410.png
4b. mq2cwtnbuffs are local - on your pc - toons with macroquest - all the cwtn plugins load it - so after the first time cwtnbuffs is loaded - any toon running mq2 logging in will be running mq2cwtnbuffs

5. we do not output anything to group/raid/guild/fellowship. this exists for your cwtnui (or mq2 window if your cwntui is hidden) so you can make your cwtn window "less spammy" if you didn't want to see AA usage, for example you can turn off aa reporting.

5b. the only exception to output anything is for enchanter it has an option to report mezzing to eqbc/dannet - but we have no plans to add that for anything outside of mezzing.

Thanks for the complete set of answers!

Things seem to be working for the most part but I still get some intermittent weirdness. All in about 2 hours the following things happened (this is not a CWTN bug as far as I know, it seems too wide spread). I have one character that just will not chase. Every now and then I can start/stop a bunch and it may start working. Once it simply waited a long time and caught up. One time my MQ2Shaman just stopped doing everything, including heal, and my bard died. I had to manually change the mode to manual and then assist to get it to start working again. It is really odd and I haven't spotted a pattern. Before getting MQ2Shaman my Muleassist shaman never chased, now that seems solid with CWTN but my Muleassist wizard won't chase now (he did before). Another time I could not get a character to stop chasing when stuck in water. I could manually back it up but it wouldn't turn left or right, even with mqp and muleassist stopped, so it got stuck on a wall. Muleassist seems to want `/chaseon` but also `/chase on` can work at times. When it works I get the command feedback and the nav line appears but when I try to send the next command I only see the `/bcg` lines echo but I don't see the lines where the character responds to the command. I checked my macros in the ini file and they seem to match what I saw in other threads. I don't know what is going on but if anyone has any idea how I can debug this let me know. I'd like to be sure there is no macro collision going on between characters but I don't know how to prove anything. If there are any files I could check, or move out of the way to regenerate, or reinstall, or anything at all, let me know please.

[Edit] Maybe I'll take each character out one at a time and see how things go.

sounds like your shaman was either paused or you were invis without a camp set - in which case it wouldn't heal or buff or such - but outside of that, it will always do stuff.

i can't really assist your other issues unrelated to mq2shaman in the mq2shaman thread - that would get really sidetracked.

there's no "macro collision" as only 1 macro can be run at a time on each character - assuming you're not trying to run a macro on top of one of your classes running a cwtn plugin (mq2eskay or mq2shaman for example). Unless you mean if dude1 is using xyz and dude2 is using abc --- but that would also be a no as kiss doesn't care what anyone is running, nor muleassist nor the cwtnplugins

running in water can be challenging for mq2nav if you have the dynamic recalculation on (which you normally should leave on) due to how the layers of a mesh sometime end up. that stuff just comes with practice and sometimes editing a mesh or avoiding an area.

as far as your command issues and team management with muleassist - you'll want to ask those questions over in the muleassist section.

but tl;dr as long as you have your mt/ma assigned in your group window (for the cwtn toons) and you have corrected assigned your ma for muleassist when you start it up, and you /chase on for mule assist and go mode 2 for cwtn - you should chase.

I appreciate you taking the time to reply like this. I added the extra info in case it might add context or trigger a memory. I think using /mac scribe required me to stop and restart some things. Again, I'll keep an eye out and if I spot something meaningful to share I'll do so. Cheers!

Tried searching but I suck or it hasn't been asked before: Is it possible to get the shaman to use a mount?

? yes, turn auto dismount off either long form /shm autodismount off or check the box in the quick change pane every session.

If you mean to auto mount, not as far as i know

add your mount to downtime clicky.

if you have autodismount on it will only make sure you have the buff - if you have autodismount off, it will make sure you have the buff and the mount.

would it blow your mind if i told you this is actually gone over in the CWTN UI video / settings video? at roughly 8:30?

Morning Sic, I'm getting a weird issue for a few days now where the shaman isn't rezzing. He battle rez's but not rejuvenation of spirit. I have the setting turned on, I've even deleted the dll and reloaded. Here are his settings, any ideas?

nope, haven't seen issues there - are you sure not only you are out of combat but also in fast regen?

(tho there is an issue if you're in raid mode where it continually is checking for corpses and doesn't continue onwards and do some of our other downtime stuff like buff - which is fixed for next update)

yup fixed next update.

what about adding a root feature to help with some of the group missions like ToV mission

very specifically do not have any plans on automatically punting mobs around.

from the FAQ:

Q. Root Punt / Paralysis AA?
A. We won't be doing any punting of mobs. It can quickly turn into a bad time if you're punting mobs around.

When the quick select "use raid mode" is checked, shaman wont buff xtarget, or do some of the other task.

As soon as I clicked off raid mode, summoned food (option i have on), summoned and buffed pet, then buffed xtarget puller. Is this normal?

always works like this btw - bug exists for a while that no one notices, then some how the universe is like "hey you fixed this bug that only 1 person saw that was kinda hard to track down and now other people are going to notice while waiting on a rebuild"

Just an idea: would it be possible to make the sham switch to 2H bandolier if usemelee on 1 and on burn?
Or just keep doing that manually?

howdy mr. P
definitely no plans of doing any bandoswapping built-in.

hiya sic, thx for answering so fast.
Will do one more hotkey to do that then.

You’re going to want to do 2H 99% of the time with COV weapons. Heal amount is more and proc is better.

Any chance you could have the plugin(s) treat IVU the same as invis? Annoying to camp out with IVU on in an undead area only to log back in and die.

IVU and Invis are already treated the same.
correct - we treat being invised as invised (with all of the cwtn plugins, not just mq2shaman)

eq, however, doesn't always treat ivu the same - sometimes when "re applying" it when you load in or zone you will be missing it's "reapplication" (which came up heavily in ToV, and i thought they were going to fix it. It sounds like that might be your issue here)

Hey sic, ive looked and cant actually find an answer out of 20+ pages of comments.
Is there anyway to make the shm check the cwtnbuffs file on different computers? i typically run 3 computers(up to 5) and if someone dies on one of the other computers, the shm wont buff him. There anyway to change this? been looking and coming up with no solution. hoping you might have an idea. All are connected to the same eqbcs server, all on same network at home.

from F.A.Q
Q. Why does my shaman not buff the group?
A. You will need to run /plugin mq2cwtnbuffs load on all of your characters that you would like mq2shaman to buff. You also need to NOT be in /shm byos on mode. As "Bring Your Own Spells" assumes you want to handle your spells and your buffs. MQ2CWTNBuffs requires characters to be local characters (same PC, not across network or space/time).

no there isn't - local toons. (it is mentioned quite a few times and in the vids)

How do I get to see MQ2Shaman text in my Tanks MQ2 window?
Howdy prackers

you can not. and we don't have any plans of broadcasting anything outside of mezzes

you could always use a small macro to broadcast when you're casting

Code:
#event Casting "You begin casting#1#"

Sub Main
    /while (1) {
        /doevents
        /delay 1
    }
/return

Sub event_Casting(line, castspell)
    /if (${Me.Casting.ID}) {
        /bc [+p+]${Me.Name}[+w+] Is Casting: [+g+]${castspell} on [+o+]${Target.Name}.
        /while (${Me.Casting.ID}) {
            /delay 5
        }
    }
/return

Thanks, that should work! It is only a case of checking he isn't asleep/dead without having to switch from my Tank.
