It appears the mage is trying to give his own pet a pouch of quellious continuously but the pet isnt taking it...
Show me a snip of the window where mq2mage window says it is doing that plz

would make sure you don't have any empty top level slots being taken up by non-bags
would also make sure that you have at least 10 slotters - they're like 1pp

the expanded bags are pretty cheap to make as well.

also - you can now turn on to delete items you don't want, but that of course requires being able to have *any* space to do anything.

if you think you're crashing because you're getting too much on cursor (like autoforage putting too many items in a backlog because you can't get items off your cursor - you're probably going to crash.

All of my inventory slots are filled with super duper big bags...i am on a live server.

As my pet keeps flashing as he tries to give it to him.

And the minute i manually give it to him when mq2mage isnt paused i get EQ crash detected message

- how many open inventory slots do you have (non-ts specific or collectible only)?
- is this your personal pet or someone else's?

None, i never leave any running unless actively using (like TSC)

If by open inventory slots, you mean bag slots, about 10-20 usually. as i dont ever have an main inventory slots open....

my bags are full of a bunch of mage goodies....and some collectibles... I have one bag for TS but it doesnt have many slots filled and the empties in the bag werent counted in the previous line.

Though i just cleared my inventory to see if that helps any..

Mq2mage doesn't pause or unpause itself at all. (Unless camping)

So you have something doing that
 
Yeah, whats weird is that the mage is the only character with that behaviour. Strange. I'll do a reboot.

EDIT: Yeah, cauldron.Lua is the culprit.
 
Can i request the GHBuffBot so guildies can request there own DS's while im afk
 
You should look at mq2buffme - they could just /tell magenam buffme all
Did not know this was a thing. Thanks again for the quick response. Btw, I did end up buying plugins for Mage, SK, Cleric, and my Enchanter. I'm absolutely loving them. Soon as you have Ranger done ill buy that as well. Thanks again for all your hard work.

So this is pretty awesome so far. 1st day doing anything like this. Still fairly newly back to EQ after 20yrs away. I have a few questions.

1) My mage doesn't try to melee, move to mob or even turn on autoattack. UseMelee is on.
2) My mage doesn't sit for mana ever, not even in a lull between pulls. Mana is a problem. Elemental conversion, relentless symbiosis etc seem used late.
3) I don't know why my mage memorises spear of molten komalite as well as the superior spear of molten luclinite. Do I have to go rebuy the type3 spell augment for komalite spear?
4) I appear to sometimes use trash mod rods like pelagic which gives just 2,970 mana but is on same timer as dazzling which gives 35,000 mana - this seems sub optimal.
5) Recast of Komalite orbs seems a bit hap hazard even while there's a break while mob is being pulled.
6) Mage is using komalite orbs, but not using thaumaturge's focus AA (instant cast). Isn't that missed dmg opportunity?
7) Shock of carbide steel? is this just memmed incase there's a fire resisting mob? Never seems used. Thaumaturge focus AA not being used either? Suppose I better buy aug3 for this incase it does get used?
8) Will turn summoned or Unmend Unnatural ever be used for relevant mobs?
9) which are the aoe spells that might get used if I turned aoe on? I could get aug3's and train AAs for these if I knew what they were.

10) how do I get MQ settings/plugin/options etc window back?

I realise some of these questions may be common & stupid newbie stuff, but if anyone does have the patience to answer any of them for me I'd really appreciate it.

1. Make sure you're in an assist mode with mob in campradius and group main assist assigned etc.
2. Again, you sound like you're in manual mode. Don't be.
3. Sure. we use 2 spears.
4. Turn it off. it is recommended to turn off "UseGroupModRod". in fact, i'm going to default the option to being turned off.
from the FAQ:
Q. I don't want to use the older Pelagic mod rod.
A. You can turn off UseGroupModRod --- you STILL will use your AA Mod Rod.

5. we check this pretty low in the priority of "stuff to do" intentionally. working as intended
6. we don't use thaumaturge's focus - it is limited to "Magic" spells and usage is pretty niche
7. shock is a generic "filler" spell for memorization purposes - yes we do use it. as mentioned about magic usage with thaumaturge's focus, it is pretty niche, but the "bases" are covered and we try not to leave you with an emtpy gem (most of the time). you can always byos/byos-custom if you hate the loadout.
8. you can byos/byos-custom for SummonedNuke (unmend), we don't memorize it.
9. did you try? you can try and you'd see it. we'll memorize firebeam - but you'll use firebeam and/or magic beam - we only use silent casting if useaoe is on. we don't do rains.
10. you'll want to check the sticky/faq/commands. /mag show

you seem to be missing a ton of the "basic" stuff. Like the modes, FAQ stuff, options, byos/byos-custom

Download meshes from the launcher.

I‘m away from the computer otherwise I’d post a screenshot of where to find it, but there is a mesh updater on one of the menus.

it is crucial. Definitely hit that link i shared with you.

yeah, the error message telling you it can't do that because you don't have meshes means you can't do that because you don't have meshes.

it gives you a red error output, tells you that you can run the mesh updater on the RG Launcher and puts something on the middle of your screen.

just do what the plugin says to do, run the mesh updater on the rg launcher

Told the launcher it had to check meshes, that didn't work right away, but after restarting EQ movement melee etc works now. Sitting for mana is occasionally working too.
tank mode and assist mode returns you to your camp and sits you down after fights every time.
chase/vorpal will sit everyone down if your MA sits
pulling modes only stop when you need to based on your groupwatch settings
manual mode doesn't sit
sictank mode doesn't sit

Hi, I'm not meaning to sound critical, in case I am coming across that way. So the thing I am seeing when using assist mode is:

my mage often returns to campfire, sits for a second, but then stands immediately and redoes a buff or summon item, and remains standing afterwards rather than make another attempt to sit until next mob.

If there are mobs on xtarget, we won't sit down. Otherwise we sit down after returning to camp unless we cast something, then we sit down after unless the aforementioned xtarget has aggro mobs on it

Thank you for explaining, I understand the behaviour now, that makes sense.
 
1) Can someone tell me which of the mage 'modes' makes the pet tank and is good for Solo or Molo mage?
2) How can I turn back on mage pet defending me behaviour? Currently it just watches me get beaten to death and does nothing now?
3)Why am I fighting the targeting so much? I'm set as main tank and main assist yet... It puts the target back on my character like 3 times at the start of every mob? Is it Veil and SkinDS, can't it put those on the pet tank? Turning off veil and skin does seem to help more, being assist and targeting myself is a problem.
4) Also is it intended that the inferior? Earthen Strength 5% dmg to skills add aura is used instead of Rathe's 10% to skill?
5) Targeting is generally problematic. What can I set better here? Can it be set better? Even with veil and skin off it feels clumsier to manage targets and start fights and pull.
6) I really like the buff and clicky management, so I want this to work.
7) It would be nice if Chaotic Largesse rebuffed itself as a spellcast, and then ophiolite bodyguard would trigger the recast of thaumaturge's unity which would save a bit of mana as chaotic largese is such a tiny duration buff.

you'll want to be in a tanking mode or assigned group main tank (and main assist) in the group window - which means you'll need a merc.

the overview page has a flow chart on that
 
I solo with my mag also. To add to what sic said, I use the mode 7 SIC tank mode. While your assigned the tank and main assist you can switch targets when you have multiple mobs attacking you. Your pet will switch with you to get aggro on all.

This mode is used best if you make a hot key to reset your camp radius. If you have the map open you will see the red circle around you. This has worked out good for me so I hope this will help you also.

They cast on yourself not pet with tank role, and it makes it so you keep targeting yourself on inc, which makes your pet not taunt or pickup mobs which can be fatal?
But if you remove tank role, you don't use heals or stance for pet.
I really like the plugin for managing buffs and clickies, I like how it swaps the lesser spear to flame beam for aoe and so on.

being main assist and maintank you will target the mob when it enters your campradius.
 
two questions, i looked through all the settings, and couldn't figure out how to turn off using monster summoning, instead of best elemental pet.

reason i am asking, going to a lower level zone, it summoned a denizen of the zone and got stuck on giving it weapons, which it would not take.

you would change what pet you summon.

/mag PetType 0,1,2,3,4,5 - PetType [0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 : fire, earth, water, air, monster, highest]
 
Btw, the mage plugin is using the inferior 5% buff of Earthen Strength and not the superior 10% buff of Rathe's Strength. Unless I'm misunderstanding something about these buffs.
