Plugin - MQ2Mage (2 Viewers) 3.1.52471.11

1. Can this thing get a toggle for Symbiosis? It doesn't really make sense to use it when running with a Necro, since it's just going to get overwritten by Atrophy. All that winds up happening is the Mage memorizes the spell, casts it real quick (or doesn't cause of mobs in camp), and then has it overwritten in short order by the Necro's cast.

2. Maybe I'm overlooking something, but it doesn't seem like twincast (the spell) gets used when twincast aura is up from Enchanter. Burn Always is on. Burn Named is on. If this is intended, then I have to ask why. It really should cast the spell even when enchanter aura is running, considering I'm pretty sure that the twincast 100% chance is just used while it's running, and then when it's off the aura's chance to twincast takes over.
1. you can block symbiosis if you don't want it, or block the atrophy spell. but no plans of adding a toggle.
1b. same thing with a few spells in the game and pet haste
2. will check that, that is likely a bug, thanks for that info. the rest of what you said isn't helpful.
 
@Kazimere confirmed that twincast aura is causing things to think that it has a twincast buff (and we obviously don't want that), thanks again

@Chibz pretty sure that this is that inconsistency we couldn't find

Is there any way to get MQ2Mage to stop casting Ecliptic Companion other than BYOS? I've tried blocking both Ecliptic Companion and Ecliptic Companion 1 on both my pet and on myself and it still appears to be trying to cast it on cool down. Due to the way lag works in EQ, the more procs a pet has the slower it swings its weapons, so it ends up being a DPS loss anytime there's even a tiny bit of lag for each proc that the pet has from any source (pet weapons, buffs, etc).

no, what i told you this morning is correct. you would need to byos and not memorize it if you don't want it.

as i mentioned we only use it during burns or when you have twincast available. blocking the spell doesn't do anything as we're not treating it as a buff for buff purposes, we're firing it if it is available and is met by those conditions i mentioned. in this case blocking it on your pet doesn't do anything, except make the spell not take hold

Would it be possible to add an option for it? I'd prefer not to use BYOS if I don't have to since you end up losing some of the other features of the plugin, but it's generally regarded by most main mages as a spell that does more harm than good. See for example, the guide written by Sancus, one of the top mages in the game, https://docs.google.com/document/d/1NHtWfaS6WJFurbzzWbzBOZdJ3cKn3F34m1TL5ZO3Vg0/edit where under the Pet section he states:
Procs: Pet procs reduce their DPS. This includes weapon procs, procs from buffs, and innate spell casting. Any and all of these are significantly detrimental to your pet’s performance, with a much larger detrimental impact in laggy raids.
Spells NOT to use (this list is not exhaustive): ... Ecliptic Companion ...

I've got MQ2Mage tweaked pretty closely to follow what Sancus recommends, and it's doing pretty great. Being able to stop using Ecliptic Companion is one of the last remaining items. If that goes against the plans for this plugin and I have to BYOS, then I will, but I figured I might as well ask.
 
will consider it. many/most folks aren't only using in "laggy raids".
and yes, chat and i know who sanctus is, and know about google docs etc.

i'd implore anyone and everyone to actually vet information themselves to see for their circumstances if it actually made a difference that matters, before trying to ask for changes to things. or even ask dbg to change it so a class defining progressive ability actually brought something to the table.

you don't lose anything from byos custom. perhaps you should take a look at that more closely.

I just noticed that it appears that MQ2Mage is buffing my pet with Burnout X, the level 91 spell even at level 120 when we have Burnout XV. Am I doing something wrong to cause it to decide to mem and cast the level 91 Burnout X spell?

the only thing i can think of is your "Burnout X" is earlier in your book than "Burnout XV" and maybe it is grabbing it when trying to memorize "Burnout XV"

I'd check what spells the plugin says you have when you load it up,

but we definitely use Burnout XV

I'll try re-arranging my book to see if it helps. The plugin says it's using Burnout X (91) though, and I have several levels of Burnout higher than that (see pictures). Trying to mem Burnout XV and use BYOS (which I didn't expect to work since Burnout is a buff, so it did nothing) and BYOSCustom (which just unmemed Burnout XV to mem Burnout X) didn't change anything FWIW.

Is there any sort of debug mode I can toggle to try and see what it's selecting that spell?

Played with it some more, I moved Burnout X to the very last slot in my spell book and unloaded/reloaded the plugin and it picked up the level 116 Burnout XV and started to correctly use that instead.

I'm not sure if this is a MQ bug or a MQ2Mage bug, but wherever it belongs, it appears to be related to the order in the book.

I can fix. this is a pretty weird circumstance. AND it is self-inflicted trying to whack-a-mole broken eq stuff

it was what i thought it was, but it wasn't why i thought it was why.

At lvl 58, I'm using the first Burnout instead of Burnout IV unless I have it scribed already. I scribed it after it casted Burnout.

This may be the same issue discussed earlier in the thread . Since the spell beginning is the same name, you may need to move the most recent burnout closer to the beginning of your spell book than all other scribed ones. It should grab it then.

this was *supposed* to be fixed with this last patch, so let me take a look
 
Morning all,

Yesterday I noticed that my MQ2Mage is not summoning his Ait Pet. The Pet box is completely empty. I checked the FAQ and I don't see anything about the mage pet not being summoned. Should I delete MQ2Mage and then reinstall it again? The settings in game says Air Pet. I'm currently in "Assist Mode". I clicked on BYOS and then I put the Summon AIr pet spell on the spell bar and I cast it, and the Pet box is still empty. Thank you.

or

don't forget each resource has a commands tab with commands

I tried moving the newest one at the front of the book and then at the back of the book. Would only give me the lowest one regardless.

Yw. Moving spells wouldn't have fixed it, because it was a bug with the fix to the book issue

I added the /shd addclickie downtime to the SK, and that's helping, but the mage wont give them to him fast enough. How do I add this?

Both toons are using the CWTN systems.

I just purchased your MQ2Mage yesterday and have noticed a few issues on my end. It is scoring fairly low on dps and I decided to watch it. On some mobs it with have several gems up and ready to cast and it doesnt cast them. Like i watched Roiling Servant stay up during a named fight and again the mage was hardly casting. The only problem is....it does it sporadically. Mana level is fine and mob is in camp. Its weird. Maybe its because I'm in FF Pass and the 4arms PH's keep telling it they are named? Thanks for any help

we go through our whole routine every time

that's not really much information to go by

using mq2dpsadv is also not a great utility to get actual numbers, if that is what you're using.

sounds like you checked the basics - mob in camp, i would make sure your "i have plenty of mana" is more than your "nukemanamin" value, which is defaulted to 60

do you have the same issues elsewhere?
we also don't treat those ph's as named
 
Similar to the post I placed in MQ2eskay where there appears to be an issue with the TOL/UP - Zlenithak raid, MQ2Mage does strange behavior when it comes to pet summoning/weapons. I belive this is also linked to the fact that upon death we are rezzed into the raid and automatically placed in combat mode due to AE's and the tight quarters this raid requires. I again realize I may be a bit short on the info you need but I wanted to post it before the next raid so I know if I need further information to diagnose the issue

My guess is that it's related somehow to the option of combatsummonpet being checked and being rezzed and placed immediately in combat. I definitely want it to do this but the plugin spams "you do not have an open slot" or text very similar after a rez and it appears it's related to the Pouch of Quellious. It attempts to summon the pet weapons and I noticed the weapon backpack in one of my inventory bags and it's also trying to summon one that gets stuck on the cursor. When I first load up, everything works as normal as seen in the image below upon loading MQ2mage and there is no weapon pack;

Again I realize this may be a bit to vague for you to recreate as I am unable to anywhere besides the Zelnithak raid but I wanted to post it before the next raid so I can be sure I gather any other necessary info you may need to look into it. The only way I have found to prevent the issue is to delete all summoned pet items, their associated packs and then reboot the toon and let it load from scratch when resting. Otherwise it just spams. I'm kicking myself for not taking screenshots but I was focused on the raid and tried to do a snippet (to reduce useless info) and was unable to save it during the raid. Will SS next time and snippet from there, sorry.

Thanks for entertaining this issue, I appreciate it. Being the only one reporting the problem obviously indicates I am doing something to cause the issue.

The only change I made with the xtarget slots is on the main (SK) to add the RAID MA1's target (SK is listed as group MA in group, but not MT or any raid tags). I use a slot way towards the bottom and change it from auto to RAID Assist 1's target to make assisting the RAID MA's target easier/faster. Could this possibly be the cause for both toons odd behavior? If so, I can avoid doing that on the next raid and test, then add the RAID MA on xtarget and see if it recreates. Easier to not do that going forward if that's the cause than a software adjustment.

The pouch never showed up in inventory upon login or initial summon, but a new one seems to show up and get added to one of my bags since there is not a top level inventory slot open due to being filled with bags. If I take the second bag in inventory (generally empty) and pause the plugin, then put that empty bag into another and place the pouch in the top level inventory slot it begins working again. we don't care or need top level inventory slots. leaving one blank is just a waste for yourself.

Can't say I have this problem (mezzing with bard, not ench) but then I do have "/pet resume" toggled on which is probably why

When we engage a mob we send in pets and send in swarm pets, every time
 
Interesting.... maybe my /pet resume is not on, i did not see that option on the UI let me look through commands and try it out. Because my Rage pets defiantly do not go back into battle LOL i start over.

resume is a new(er?) thing, and we'll probably just ensure it is turned on for toons that have it available, so i don't think that is it

but any time we send in the pet, we also do a /pet swarm
 
It sounds like you're not switching with the MA, or there is no MA set or the MA isn't attacking anything.
