Plugin - MQ2Mage (1 Viewer) 3.1.52471.11

I am getting a recurring crash on the mq2mage plugin as well. It started happening with the latest EQ patch. I am on Live running mq2mage along with 5 other cwtn plugins. The mage is the only one experiencing the crash. I will attempt to PM a crash log to Sic and CWTN.

sorry to hear about your troubles.

yep, I got the pm as well as read the post.

both mq2 live and test are awaiting on some updates and it is likely related to that.

mq is also waiting on an rebuild to fix some clicky usage to be fixed related to items that are familiar/mount/illusion - those have been found and made and just waiting on the rebuild.

the mq2 stuff test/live is still waiting for mq2 fixes before we can adjust our stuff.

the crash is an "eqgame" crash, so the dump doesn't really tell cwtn or I much about it

Thank you for your update =) I came here looking for this very thing. Mine does the same crash about every 15 minutes to couple hours. I've tried toggling on and off different abilities and so far if I toggle off "Use Servant" it happens less frequently.
 
Request: Can we add some priority to Shield of Destiny (SoD)? Especially if Veil is not being used? In the perfect would I would like to see SoD memed in Veils slot if Veil is unchecked. It would also fire off in combat should rune drop as its pretty huge and a short cast.

don't really intend on doing that, but i can take a look
 
I have a question and it relates to more than just the mage plugin, the enc, cleric, and shaman ones I also have that could benefit from this. I noticed the "buffbot" feature only works in guild hall, is there a way that can be changed? For example what I am trying to accomplish is this. In a raid situation and a group wipes, they could send a tell to a specific enc sham cleric or mage to get group buffs instantly.

GH buff Bot is for guild hall.

I was working on, and still am, something more "universal" for redguides outside of the cwtn plugins and licenses for that - but it won't be for a while - it has been very busy around with multiple MacroQuest versions, and i will likely not continue working on and release/finish until "Next" in the main/sole/stable version that RG has.

but yup, does exactly that.

we say "is there a pet near us that is missing primary and secondary weapons, if so, give them weapons" then we summon a weapon and hand them to that pet.

We don't check players or hand the items to a player

when we go to trade we say "is the spawn id of our target the spawn id of the spawn we've identified that needs the item"

can you PM me a screensnip where it says it is handing items to your tank (if you don't want to pm me your toon name that is fine, but if you can show me somehow your toon and your pet that would be useful)

I finally figured out how my SK is getting loads of mage summoned weapons. Mage gives those to Enchanter charmed pets, and when those are killed, the weapon ends up in my SK's inventory, as loot :D

I love it but just one draw back for me, it just keep casting summon Imperative minion over and over over till i run out of mana or i pause can u help to get it to stop

Re: your review. I'd need more information. Such as are you using live/next, are you currently up to date? Check the launcher and make sure you're not using an outdated version. There were issues going into this EQ patch that needed to be corrected.

You can also turn off UseMinion to get it to stop casting it until the issue is sorted in the future.
 
Any updates on the crashing issue? mage still randomly just yeets itself right out of EQ. I thought it was happening when I used servant, but that was busted when it happened while afk in lobby. wasn't even casting anything.

Y33ting you out of game without a dump is no bueno, because I can't check anything, not that I'm positive that the dump would contain any useful information. But rather I'd like to be able to see it happen.

Have you tried using next to see if the issue occurs on that build version as well? I do see that you're on the latest live VV version.

I spoke briefly with Sic about this yesterday, MQNext mage is blowing up on occasion, the .dmp's were submitted. It looks like its EQ side from the brief discussion we had =-(

the reason you likely see it on mage (assuming it is in-fact an eq issue or just a broader mq/mq2 issue and not just either a: with mq2mage or b: just mages in general - is with mq2mage we cast a bunch of clicky items like exigent, minion and servant - (there is no option to turn off firebound atm)

i'd suggest turning those off until it is figured out

Always a safe bet to blame DBGs spaghetti code...or lack of code at all if they are to be believed....hard to imagine anyone just losing thousands of dollars of computer hardware capable of storing EQ code....

nah, thank you for the offer, all the next crashes are automagically sent to the mq dev team as well as cwtn and myself via backtrace.

It doesn't look like you're currently running next, which you should consider doing, as next is going to get the most updates and attention and potential eq-work-around-bug-fixes

I have a level 65 mage on rizlona and I have the face mask from plane of time that casts malosinia. I was able to add the item and I chose offensive hoping my mage would cast it on every mob, but it never gets casted. I have use malo turned off because I assumed that would cast the spell version. Do I need to turn that option on to get my mage to use the face mask item?

add clickies for things like that don't necessarily work like you think they would/should with regards to casting stuff onto mobs.

you do, however, need to be in melee combat.

make sure you understand the stuff below with regards to Offensive clicky - you'd likely be better off with an mq2react until we do the overhaul.

I have noticed that sometimes the mage has pet toys stuck in hand and or the pet window open and the window not clicked.

Just crashed again when Frostbound Paradox finished casting

I would double-check you're not running your background characters with max background fps set to "min". this fps is where "work" is done, and if you have your background toons set to 0/min you can run into problems.

All 6 running at Max FPS 90 and Max BG. FPS 30

30 is *probably* ok, but i recommend 60.

depending on what else is going on you might be having some background resource issues - like cpuaffinity starving or somesuch.

some folks have fine with 30, but i definitely recommend 60+

since you appear to be running next, you can easily set that to 60 and let frame limiter do its magic and have super sweet performance all day long
 
Quick question, I have been trying to figure out how to resolve this issue. Elevation issue with regards to assisting off a raid assist. Is there a way to counteract this? For example certain raids mob might be tanked on a platform and caster dps away from platform, but the toons wont assist me.

they need to be inside your campradius, and within line of sight

if they're far away you likely need to increase your campradius

Just a helpfull note (and I just discovered this Wednesday) you can make the camp radius bigger then the 100 (that the window allows) with the slash command, that has proven useful for me using a mage on raids.

yup, good point we specifically limit the radius in the window, because it is more likely that someone would fat finger such a large radius

you should use the slash command if you want larger for sure
 
Sic updated MQ2Mage with a new update entry:

If you are on "Next" update and you can use item clickies again.

Thanks to a whole bunch of work and digging from @brainiac It appears the mysterious "EQ Mage" crash has a fix/workaround for MacroQuest "Next".

tl;dr - fix'd

longer explain: it is an eq bug, which appears to only happen on mages (tho potentially on non-mages) and in particular with the Paradox clicky. It is most noticable on MQ2Mage since we default to using paradox clicky item.

This EQBugFix is only in next, so if you're still running legacy MQ2, you are likely going...

Hi Sic, I can't figure out how to get GatherCapabilityat to actually work. This is on Live, MQNEXT, Gold.

I have it set to 80

no, that is the correct line.

lol, it appears when I added the adjustment, it doesn't actually use the new value =p i'll update

sooo needy. I thought you just wanted to adjust the value and get some output - not ACTUALLY USE IT at the adjusted value.
