Plugin - MQ2Mage (1 Viewer) 3.1.52471.11

Just wanted to show my love for this plugin. I have had some targeting issues intermittently but nothing that isn't surmountable with reloading the ui or switching targets on my MA. My two mages are BEASTS now and constantly pulling agro from my SK. Guess I need to learn to tank harder! :D In summary, this is going to be awesome.
 
I changed zones and now I can't get the stereo button menu to come back up. I've tried various combinations of
/plugin mq2mage load
/plugin mq2mage
/loadskin default
/reloadui

to no effect... any ideas?
 
From my research those are the only 2 Lore groups that effect the mage.
So apparently exigent minion/servant are lore to each other. But don't appear to be assigned a lore group.

Also, since everyone keeps checking this page. Please don't PM me/sic on discord/here for issues with mage. Post the issue to this discussion.

Reason:
My PMs are many, your message can and will get lost and I forget things.
Sic can't see my PMs, and I can't see Sic's PM's. So If I'm online and he's not, but you sent Sic an issue. Nobody will see that issue until he gets online + reverse.
Other users might be aware of the issue - and know how to work around it.
It may have already been mentioned here, if you Quote/mirror someone elses report, it confirms it's an issue for more than just the one person who reported it.
Some things are hard to track down and may need additional information. This is where I will try to get that information unless it requires an indepth look at your specific character.
I had over 100 messages when I logged on this morning, lots about mage, most were duplicates. If you keep it here, I can find all the information in one place and it will make this faster for everyone.

Changing zones alone won't hide the window, but if you X'd the window out, to open it you type /mag show
 
This has been amazing so far... One more question- is there a way to get a stereo button to turn off Summon Firebound Orb just like we have for the Glacial Paradox? If it's there already I don't see it.

Spear Lines - Would it be worth adding an option to replace the two spear spells with Rain of Molten Komatiite & Rain of Scimitars?

As you can see, Rains in theory do more damage to single target for half the mana. Obviously there is the issue of it being AoE and mezed mobs which is why a toggle would be great. Also I know the issue of this AoE being able to strike the caster could be an issue however from my testing in a group geared mage. If it strikes the mage, it appears only the first wave hits caster, most of the time its resisted and should it hit you the damage is generally VERY low at 115. Also, for alliance purposes I do not if each wave counts as a fire spell or only the initial cast. Again this is just an idea and I'd love to hear from others.

Gem 6 (Veil Line), Gem 9 DS Line and Gem 13 Alliance - currently these slots have toggles for them. Should you turn them off they appear to be wasted slots at this time. This leads me into my next item which would be to use Thaumtize Pet for the extra mana regen for one of the slots should one the above be turned off.

Restless Symbiosis Buff Line - Plugin currently doesnt seem to be using this buff.

Gem 10 Twincast: I have not been able to get this to fire, it uses AA twincast but not the spell version. I need to test more but would like to know what the criteria is for this to fire.

Pet Weapons - As others have suggested I would love to see it only use fire and ice weapons.

Pet Mask Visor of Shoen (luxury item) - While you cannot give these to mage pets, it would be great if this was added for other non-mage pets for the 23% haste.

Pet Armor & Jewelry (luxury item) - Would be nice if mage summoned and provided these to non-mage pets.

Pet Clickies - Would be nice to have Imperative Servant & Imperative Minion clickies used on burn fights. I wouldn't suggest resummoning in combat but rather only during downtime.

Alliance - Is it possible to make a toggle to only use this on Named and/or during Burns? I often find it casts it on trash which is a huge waste but I dont want to have to keep toggling UseAlliance on and off.

Re-Rains, the issue with those is you can hit yourself. So while I wanted to add rains, I've not yet done so because if I set it to not nuke yourself, and you're in range to nuke yourself, then you don't do damage at all.
Re-Symbiosis - already done, see above pending patch notes.
Gem 6 - should put Orb there if they're off so you don't have to keep memorizing the blasted thing.
Thanks for the report on twincast, seems I was using a target designation on a self only buff, which is no bueno. Will test to ensure the fix.
Pet Weapons: See above mention of petweapons not self destroying if we opt to do specific weapons. (Would result in tons of extra crap in your bags).
Mask - No way to know if the pet has one. Maybe do some internal tracking.
Armor/Jewelery - See mask response.
Servant/Minion - Looking into that right now.
Alliance - should be during burns, but shit happens lol. Looking into it.

As mentioned above it appears you can only hit yourself once on the first wave. If its not too much trouble to just swap the spells on an option ill gladly test it extensively.

Agree...one correction though...mages have always been beasts...you just didn't know...lol

Agree 100% for single group config. If you're doing aoe config hunting (3x mage, enchanter, bard, cleric)...on lowbies (blue cons) it may actually be more effective to drop nukes, go aoe rains, w/ swarm or many using pet clicky build (see above). This is a specialized scenario...and you'd need really good gear, high EM on mages, and it'd go at least 1 earth, 1 wind, maybe 1 water to reduce risk...

CWTN can you check on your comment above re: Exigent (clicky servants)...i'm near 100% sure you can use your clicky summoned pets (both) with regular pets, swarm pets...and pretty much all your other clickies (not in a cooldown all at once). Summoned clickies are usually two separate spell lines and work together EX: 113 & 115 spells. Maybe I misread the commend above?

Just loaded this up and got a message to please report to CWTN. Message is "Groundswell StanceSteelstance from Pet Stance is not a valid spell!". My character is level 90 and on a TLP server if that makes a difference. Hope this helps and sorry if you already know this.
 
I did use it, for like 10h+ for 3 x mages... seems like theres 2 x major issues. 1: it does alot of jams (char just stops casting). 2. DPS with plugin selected methods is bit low. I do better, when selecting mq2NUKE as primary source, and ingnoring all summoned shit, that supposedly do damage instantly. Sry, no parse recorded, just comparisions, by eye.

re: "ignoring all summoned shit", the summoned items get used during GCD. While another user mentioned twincast wasn't working, and one requested that they not be used during normal twincast, they only get used on GCD and would only benefit DPS output.

They actually do damage. Instantly when used, during GCD when you're otherwise unable to use something other than an AA, and they are done at the very bottom of the routine, meaning there are no AA's needed at the moment they are triggered.

When making my plugins I never "guess" what the DPS is. I use something to parse the DPS, then make adjustments and try and determine if it was beneficial to make the adjustment or not.
If you have some insight to what you feel specifically the plugin is doing incorrectly, and would like to share it based on parses, then I'm all ears.

Not sure what you mean by Jams. My toons are casting full tilt 100% of the time.
Some information that might be useful would be:
When you do /mag missing do you get anything from the output?
What level are your characters?
Are you on a TLP?
What mode are you in?
Are you in a group, out of group, solo?
Do the character have gear on? (referenced for focus effects)

I would like to point out it's a beta plugin, and while I appreciate you taking the time to provide feedback it's hard to know what you're asking for us to do with so little information.

This button only effects the memorized spell and not the AA. This is a toggle because at 115 the one you memorize to your spell bar is garbage. So you can turn it off. The SelfModRod and AA Mod Rod are not a toggle.

are you sure you have adjusted your settings appropriately?

if the mobs are sitting outside your campradius, you're not going to attack them.
need to ensure you adjust your assistat, and your campradius

Strongly recommend scrolling up a bit...and getting all those clickies listed on all your chars. More than half of them can be made or bought pretty easily. That Parse is going to change drastically when your whole crew is petting it up

Do you have UseCombatGather on?
Also, if not, sometimes the mage will be casting this when the pull arrives. This is a 12 second cast time.
What is your NukeManaMin? Possible you've hit the min value set and the mage doesn't want to expend anymore mana due to the setting. (The idea is to save mana for a burn ideally, though may need adjustment).
Also, if you're not burning and you expend all the Orb/Paradox item, it will recast them. Which in turn makes you stop doing damage. The idea being if you're going to be in constant battle you'll do more average DPS if you summon in combat (Must already be memorized).

Just to be clear, are you saying they aren't doing any damage, or they aren't casting at all?
 
I haven't tested this plugin myself, was really just out of curiosity. I watched the video Sic made, and saw a lot of things/ spell routines added that I'd personally never use. That said, for a solo mage in the group, the spell order should be something like Riotous Servant > Spear of Koma > Chaotic Pyro > Spear of Arcronite > Chaotic> then back to Riotous and start again. You want the fire focus from RS to trigger on your spear cast, and you want 2 chaotics for the chance of twincast.

If you're running with a few pet classes, or a burn with host of elements, you'd want to move your Spear of Koma, and replace it with Shockwave of Many, still opening with RS, again for the fire focus. While burning with ITC on, you'd want to replace your Chaotic spell, with the 110 spear, so something like Riotous>Shockwave of Many>Spear of Koma> Spear of Arconite.

Also to maximize DPS, you always want to use the water pet, and if you can pick up a cheap dagger from the bazaar with a Backstab mob, even better.

I've tested a lot of things, and raid in a top 10 guild, I'm usually a bit ahead of the other mages, someone stuffed in with the melees, besides a zlandi burn, that lag is brutal!! If you have any questions, I'm more than happy to help. I have 2 mage boxes I wouldn't mind getting this going on eventually !

To avoid overrides the second mage casts firebound covenant with a check condition. Note: these mages are running in 6x max pet clicky build team (everyone is activating their pet clickies as soon as available). Personal preference was to prioritize pet crits on group pets swarm cycling for increased sustained dps.

OK love the new plugin and will be buying it when it is ready to buy I already have all the other ones, and I love them all.

I ran into a problem today using this mage plugin if I have a void shard it will keep trying to chain cast Grant glacial paradox it seem they are in the same lore group but it does not seem to know when I have one on the mage.

Thanks for all your hard work on these plugins they are fantastic.

you saw a routine that you wouldn't use in the video? I didn't fight anything in the video.
lots of things get added the the plugins that people would use in BYOS that we wouldn't necessarily memorize/use out of the box. this also includes lower level abilities and spells, and things for differnt circumstances.

best bet would be to load the plugin, and test it out

OK love the new plugin and will be buying it when it is ready to buy I already have all the other ones, and I love them all.

I ran into a problem today using this mage plugin if I have a void shard it will keep trying to chain cast Grant glacial paradox it seem they are in the same lore group but it does not seem to know when I have one on the mage.

Thanks for all your hard work on these plugins they are fantastic.

its mentioned and addressed several times in this thread and in the FAQ :(

should not be a problem next update (unless for some reason you're storing old shards/rods in housing)

Sorry, meant spells like the sand lines, monster summoning etc. In no way meant to disrespect, sorry about that.
 
Re-Rains, the issue with those is you can hit yourself. So while I wanted to add rains, I've not yet done so because if I set it to not nuke yourself, and you're in range to nuke yourself, then you don't do damage at all.
Re-Symbiosis - already done, see above pending patch notes.
Gem 6 - should put Orb there if they're off so you don't have to keep memorizing the blasted thing.
Thanks for the report on twincast, seems I was using a target designation on a self only buff, which is no bueno. Will test to ensure the fix.
Pet Weapons: See above mention of petweapons not self destroying if we opt to do specific weapons. (Would result in tons of extra crap in your bags).
Mask - No way to know if the pet has one. Maybe do some internal tracking.
Armor/Jewelery - See mask response.
Servant/Minion - Looking into that right now.
Alliance - should be during burns, but shit happens lol. Looking into it.
In regard to pet weapons,
I would much rather have to clean out my inventory than have any pets handed rage sword, or anti rage sword.
