Release MQ2Grind 3.1.52471.11

Follow up to @omgmir's post - Darkness Howls in GMM.

I have seen the same issue around 19/20/21 while watching. It does not happen every time (I usually monitor grinding -- like watching a movie ;-) -- and what I've seen is that in the area marked, there is a mob that sometimes roams or sometimes gets killed before the group gets to the 19/20/21 step. (Doing this from memory, have been a couple of weeks since I last did this.) If that happens, the group just stops, or at least until I move them to kill another mob.

Again, not 100% sure if I got the spot right, as I am doing this from memory. That said, I do recognize omgmir's observations, although for me it has been far from an issue for every instance.

Hope this is useful, and thank you so much for a nice support tool -- I have many happy little alts getting closer to their goal of running with the 'big dogs' using this :-)

asru59

That looks like the right spot. I noticed as well if I moved them around manually or killed something it would move on to the next step. Sometimes it would then complete the run or it would get stuck again right after. Something to do with that cul-de-sac area asru59 marked.

just got this today and having alot of issues setting it up the first time. I am doing the goblin on in frontier mountain but after i zone in half of them camp out. and as they move point to point the other characters are unresponsive so the tank end up dying with no heals.

My kissassist group setup is working fine as i can sit at most camps for many hours with no issues.
Are you starting KISS in the same zone or instance? I had this issue when having KISS started and unpaused in a different zone

@hytiek Darkness Howls feels like it needs some love, the nav is getting stuck around 19/20/21, and occasionally around 14. Not sure what is causing it but the output will just say "Moving group to location X" and then nothing happens they will just stand there. Am using the mesh from the FAQ.

Done 5-6 runs and each one they have gotten stuck somewhere. Maybe I am doing something wrong.

I'll have a look, thanks for the feedback.

Would you please let me know what race your group are and precise locations where you are getting stuck. This will help me find the issues quickly.

When testing, I run trolls,de,dwarf, wef, and gnome.

By chance are you guys running selos / levitate? These are both bad things to be using.

Also what's your group distance when you get stuck, enabling debug for Grind should output something. Please enable it and share that output. (/grind debug).

I've noticed a "getting stuck" on the roof of a hut. I've added 9 one way connections to see if that helps, I'm testing.

FWIW I have seen a few locations where it's getting stuck and as I find them I'm doing what I can to resolve them. It's a break due to a fake wall.

Even with the hang ups, Grind caters for hiccup by detecting lack of movement and recycle the instance for you even though you haven't finished. For instance:

I let this run and saw where the group was stuck several times, and MQ2Grind exited after noticing a lack of movement as designed by this highlighted configuration (see: SafetyExitMinutes):

GMM is a dumpster fire. If you can get out of it, please do so.

So I'm 122/123 on my characters would it be better to do the "non-hard" 125 level missions or do the "really hard or really real hard" 120s? Sorry just looking for opinions.

I think it depends on the characters gear. I know if I am twinking a toon up, they tend to not get upgraded gear until they hit 125. If they are appropriately geared and auged, it would be whatever instance provides the fastest XP gain. I use XPTrack to get some baselines when I am leveling like that.

The best route is what you can do without death.

Grind is doing the work. It doesn't matter if it takes a few days or a week.

So I use this constantly for grinding my alts and persona chars. Wonderful tool. I was wondering if it could be adjusted to be a "BEtter Hunter" mode for places like "Chambers of Pus.." and The Gildeded Spire. All your locations would traverse both multi-level zones and skip NPCs. This would allow me to hunt for named and clickies. Hunter mode is good, but limited by geometry. You already have the waypoints, just do it in the real zone and not the instance.

Hey there, great question.

Grind is solely designed to work within an instance. There will not be such a feature added to it in order to cater for this.

Simply put : three risk in open world is too high and only will bring burden to ask involved.

May I suggest that you look into pocket farm and or MyPaths by Grimmier.

Good luck to you!

+1 to mypaths. I have a ton of them.

This functionality is done at the end of the route, not mid-run; are you certain this is what you're thinking it does?
I believe so. I want my group to sit in the instance and get to full mana, full end before recycling zone. It works for mana, but my melee are usually at 1% by the end of the grind and need to regenerate too. Usually, the casters are full mana far before the melee get full end and the isntance cycles with the melee still not topped off.

If I'm understanding you, this sounds more like a feature request to regain Endurance since melee don't have mana. Is that what you're asking for?

While I consider this, why is this important? Lots of melee class sustain DPS at very low endurance. If you are using the CWTN plugins, they all perform this way very efficiently.
So, my team is essentially 1 healer, 1 adps, 3 dps and my WAR. The WAR is my main and the others exist only to supporrt and enhance my WAR. It's really 5 super-mercs in my mind. I swap out various combinations to see what works, but my WAR is always the main. We're on FV and I have ToB raid level weapons on the WAR. He rivals my wizard for sustained DPS, but he runs through endurance like a fox in a chicken house. I'd like to pause and refuel before restarting so that he has the most sustained DPS. Seems like if we can wait for the casters to tank up, we could also allow the melee as well.

I also notice that my rogue(s) run low fast as well. The plugins are very good at what they do, but on low or no endurance, they are limited in what magic thay can provide. I use grind to level and max AA my personnas on my 5 merc-like accounts. They each have 2 or 3 different classes each so I can mix and match all sorts of combinations. I use grind to quickly level them and that means the faster we kill the faster they level. Full endurance makes that the fastest.

Any chance you add option to do EQBC over Dannet?

My concern with enabling EQBC was the risk of a toon(s) being controlled offsite from the PC that is leading them. This decision was to isolate the risk for those involved.

Can you not load dannet and use it for this plugin or you were specifically wanting a friend off network to tag along?

My guess is tone is using linux, and so no dannet.

No dannet also breaks other things you're checking

I've been able to hack my way through dannet on linux

I have a few nodes that do not work with it, but literally mq2grind is the only reason I have a few windows boxes while I continue to tinker

Ironically the reason you suggest not doing EQBC is exactly why I want EQBC lol.

I have applications I write that can monitor/react to EQ via EQBC that I cannot do with Dannet

I have a macro system that is very much MQ2grind before your plugin, but I stopped bothering with maintaining it so I can focus on other things.
Paying you a license cost has been awesome so I can focus on other areas.

You have developed one of the cleanest experiences with MQ + Discord I have seen it's pretty awesome.
So, I'm just seeing if there is any chance at getting EQBC support, so I can have the flexibility to use MQ2grind how I play, vs having to make dedicated windows nodes for this / dusting off and maintaining a similar solution.

I can continue to hack away at the little nuances of dannet now that we have IMGUI working on linux.

After such a compliment (thank you very much!!), how could I say no to looking at adding the feature set. ;)

How about "Soon (tm)" ?

Hello,
I have attempted to search and this may be a rgmercs question and not a grind question. My rogue keeps stopping the grind because he goes hide/sneak and when saying ready the quest giver cannot see invis. Is there a very simple setting/config for this?

Hytiek,

Im trying to use a LEM with grind but I would like to pause grind from sending movements to one character in group without pausing everyone. Is there a way prevent Grind from moving a toon for a period of time? I'm obviously pausing the CWTN plugins but grind appears to keep moving the character in question to the next nav point.

Thanks in advance.

To accomplish what you are asking you would best solve this from your endless mana script an unloading of dannet until you are ready for the mage to continue and then load dannet again on that toon. Absolute hack but would achieve what your want.

I am assuming that's your use case. If I'm wrong let me know with more specifics please.

After more thought, if everyone but this one toon is able to conitnue is that one toon actually that useful to pause the continuation of the group?

I’ve been watching Grind for a while, and I think this would be useful for several reasons. It could help to add a setting so that when movement is triggered, it only occurs if the character isn’t currently casting. I’ve noticed many buffs repeatedly try to cast but get interrupted by rapid movement. I realize there are logistical challenges here, and I can try to build a workaround myself, I just wanted to check whether something like this is already built in.

Grind does not look at group mana to determine whether or not to continue.

This is covered in the FAQ:

My group doesn't stop to med, why?

Forgive me if this has been asked before. I went back a year + and didn't see an answer. I started out at 85 with Brell's Rest. At 95 it slowed and i get the warrior a bunch of new gear and did The Grounds. I got to 100, tried Darkness Howls and got killed almost instantly. Went back to The grounds to very slowly get to 102 and retried darkness howls and can even make it halfway through the first mission without a group wipe. Then tried Frontier Mountains. Even with the mobs being level 100. They were still killing the tank before the enchanter could get control. Am I just way to undergeared or is there way to pick the lower level version of the HA?

iirc Darkness Howls is a decent jump in difficulty, but I would think FM would be alright. Are you autogranting AAs as you level? and what kind of gear is your tank wearing? I believe FM was the non-level increase expac after TBM so they probably expect you to be in at least that level of gear.

Hello, I'm having issues with the Kael Drakkel (ToV) mission Icebound Avatar. Every time I start the plugin, my driver (warrior, tank) screen crashes instantly with no error messages or anything to provide a clue as to why it is just closing Everquest. No crash report from MQ. It only happens with this mission specifically. It works fine with the GD (ToV) mission, and I used it all through TBL in the Esianti mission, etc throughout the past expansions. Not sure why this is happening, but it's the only issue I've had with the plugin. Any clues as to what I could do to remedy this situation? Any help or suggestion is appreciated! Thank you. Plugin is amazing btw, I love it.

I have fixed the Icebound Avatar issue, sorry guys. I need to comment out a feature that I'm not done testing yet and I'll publish the fix soon.
