MQ2Grind

Release MQ2Grind 3.1.52471.11

not sure why, the crew were just sitting around not going into GMM for the last 4 hours.

Debug mode tells me...

[MQ2Grind]DEBUG :: SANITYCHECK Step 1 scCounter++[1]

Steps taken: unload and fully close RG Launcher etc, reload and update then re-launch. Result = same
About to re-boot PC, will update if that works...

Update:
Worked ok for a while after reboot but when I got home from work they're all standing around again having another wee sanity check...

By chance are you seeing the Step 1 scCounter++ [1] every 5 seconds?

So you never saw a message that said "Found a blocking shared task [... task name...] - dropping it" or this red message from EQ:

1706366723203.png

I just cannot see how it would be stuck in that cycle without one or both of those things being printed.

HaF grind........... ERROR: Bad pTarget for zone in request, safety exit. Show this to hytiek asap

Is there a way to skip a specific location but continue with the rest of the zone? Using the mesh provided and not running selos my toons are getting stuck on the rock on step 12 of Dont Fear the Destroyer.

And you have the Brells mesh updated?

MQ2Grind performs a spawn count look up for pc corpses and if it finds one it pauses. When that corpse is gone it goes into a waiting period which you can configure by adjusting the DelayAfterRez value.

You must tweak this setting to be in line with how your toons operate and to what spells they have access to.

I'm very curious to understand by which toon you saw the corpse? Was it on the driver toon or the one which died? Assuming that you saw it on your rezzed toon and not your driver I would suggest revisiting your `/hidecorpse` setting. If the driver toon cannot see PC corpses it won't wait.

I hope that this helps. If it doesn't and I've misunderstood or badly comprehended what you've shared, please elaborate and help me address the issue you're facing.
Hey Hytiek,

Thanks, the delay after rez is helping. I’ll start tweaking it.

Just to clear things up, it wasn’t my driver who died. It was a lower-level character I'm power-leveling in the Restless Assault instance.

I didn’t explain my problem right before. What's happening is my character gets a rez with zero XP, and then my main, the warrior, moves on. This leaves the resurrected character's corpse too far away for an XP-earning rez.

My healer's a shaman and my driver is a warrior. I’ve got a rogue too, but he’s not pulling the corpse like I thought he would. They're all using CTWN.

Hope this makes more sense!

hytiek updated MQ2Grind with a new update entry:

Introducing recycleCmd and fixed some other things

1/28/2024
--
Updated
- Introduced new General configuration: `recycleCmd` (command to be executed once successfully exited the instance once configured)
- Fixed a defect found in Laurion's Song where Grind would not try to restart even though it said it was going to
- Disabled the ability to Pause the Grind if it was not started
- Disabled the ability to End the Grind if it was not started
- Additional geofencing for LS: FF quest mobs, seems Thornel likes to go on a walk-a-bout from time to...

I’ve been using MQ2 grind for awhile now and it is awesome!

I’ve ran into a problem running mercs in Restless Assault. I have been 5 boxing but recently decided to drop down to War/Cleric/Enchanter with 3 DPS mercs. It will run fine and will randomly just stop advancing. It says moving to location XX and when it gets there nothing happens. If I move my War back a few feet it will start again.

Is this due to me running mercs?

Is this problem new as of today or you ran into this problem yesterday and been trying to figure out what's up?

Rogues only go grab corpses in assist mode which isn't used in grind. Also go get your shaman his rez stick so you can xp rez in combat.

What levels does this work for can I go 1-120? If I make an FTP raid force?

Added target clearing for Line of Sight failue to avoid waiting around for the wrong reason
This is creating some pingponging issues in Brells Rest at WP 25 or 26. Mob gets targeted but cleared immediately, and the group runs back and forth indefinitely.

Thank you, I'll have a look at this.

UPDATE:

EQFoli: I cannot replicate this issue. I'm going to need more information from you. Would you enable debug (`/grind debug`) and share with me what is happening during this back and forth business please?

Hey hytiek,

I'm running a crapload of gnomes around, and I seem to get them stuck in GMM [The Darkness Howls] consistently at -7.08, -61.00, 2.58 under some sort of debris pile my taller dude just runs right over. They're running to location 4/27, and are heading east by southest.

Edit to add: I've played with this area a bit and it does appear the gnomes get stuck all over the piece of debris going to location 4, and again to location 5. I knew I shouldn't have rolled gnomes...

I'm fairly certain I've removed that from the mesh ... FWIW here's the GMM mesh I use. If it's different than what you are running, please let me know. I'll ensure its updated on the mesh repo.

Thanks bud. I'll try this soonish and report back. I haven't updated my mesh since around Jan 15 so that may be it. Mesh updater stopped loading for me so I manually grab them all from the repository about once a week.

Replaced my mesh with yours. Tried two more times and all 4 gnomes keep getting snagged up on the edge of that log thing. The frog and human had no issue walking over it.

Happens earlier in the grind as well; a bit of pingponging, but that solves itself. This location (25) does not. It runs far away, then back, in a loop.
I've resorted to stopping the grind at 14, since between 14 and 25 there's a lot of movement through the tunnels; seems to be working okayish; at least it loops.

Let me preface this by saying I don't think this is in anyway an MQ2 grind problem, but I'm not really sure where to post it since it only happens to me in the LS missions while running grind. I'm running framelimiter with the recommended settings from Sic's post, six-boxing on one PC. For some odd reason, once or twice a mission in both HaF and FF grinds, my shaman will take off to a random corner of the zone and faceplant into the wall permanently until I run him back to group. This only happens when he's in the background. If I leave him foreground, it doesn't happen, and it never happens to any of the other toons. The shaman and everyone else in group, except the KA bard, are on CWTN plugins.

Anyone got any suggestions on where I might begin to troubleshoot?

Do they go into water at all? I've seen that behavior when toons go swimming.

On your CWTN toons, try changing this toggle:

I don't believe he's in the water, but I honestly haven't caught it immediately as its happened, only after the fact. I just notice, hey the tank hasn't moved and then I see the shaman is off nowhere close to the group anymore.

Thank you for sharing the debug but I see nothing about moving back and forth between locations via Grind instructions. I expected to see Grind say going to 25 going to 26 going to 25, etc. I don't see that.

The only thing I can imagine you mean by ping pong, is if/when the group starts to move away from the Grind location because NPCs are within range of attacking. This will take you away from the Grind location and when done, Grind will take you back to the location (for instance 25) before progressing to location 26.

I need something more to visually see what you're talking about. I've had several testers and myself go through this for well over 30 hours before it was released and no one complained or saw such a scenario. Please understand that I believe you are experiencing something... I just don't know what based on personal experience and from what you've shared so far.

I'm sorry Darkwynd, I've never see that happen before and I Grind upwards of 5 groups throughout the day, to catch / fix issues. Maybe sic or CWTN have insight they could share based on the plugins you've described.

I would post something in the MQ2Shaman forum since it's your SHM (running on plugin) that is causing grief.

I get you; I'll try and record something so that you can see more clearly what its doing.

@hytiek

Error message occurring for only 1 member of the group, while attempting to zone into the Hero's Forge instance for a Grind:

DoCommand - Couldn't parse '/squelch/nav door click|log=off'

When this happens, the Grind never progresses because it is waiting for the missing character to zone in. Verified that I have the latest Mesh for the zones involved. It seems like there is occasionally a lagpile forming in front of the Zone-In door object, into Hero's Forge, and the characters attempting to reach the door get blocked by the literal pile of other characters that are standing in front of it.

I wonder if the Grind nav path could be modified to use the back side of the door where it is less crowded, and therefore easier to reach the Door object?

Thank you for reporting this defect! I've just fixed the typo and pushed towards Red Guides for a rebuild. It should be available in the next 30 minutes.

Does anyone have any suggestions on where to best grind out some AA's for a group of 125 Toons? I have not tried it in a while, and was just wondering if anyone had a good place to go to Grind out AA's on maxed out toons? Thanks for the input.

Do you mean outside of the context of MQ2Grind? If you want to grind in static zones Hero's Forge in the forge area or Pal'lomen in the rallosian area are the two highest density mob populations in LS.

Wut?

Use grind and rejoice

Laurion's Song has a pair of instances which are quite nice.
