Release MQ2Grind (1 Viewer) 3.1.52471.11

It seems I missed the notification here, my apologies!

It seems like you're in a better state with the functionality, all good now athor?
All perfect thanks. Congratulations for this magnificent plugin.

I didn't have to modify anything, since I realized that it only happened when the process started. So I wait for it to work right the first time and that's it.

Then I had problems with autosize because I set it too small. With sizeself 3 it got stuck frequently. So I set it to 6 and it hasn't stuck anymore.

I say this in case it helps a fellow who is starting.

Greetings

Good Evening Everyone. Was just looking at all the MQ2Grind locations and instances, and i have run through about every single one of them (for fun and to exp) Now as a community What is the best MQ2Grind instance to flip and why? (obviously pending crews yes maybe each of the expacs has a catch per level?)

Me personally i like Mean streets for NOS - i have a very high end crew and i blow through it and its fantastic for new TS mats etc.
TOV = Restless Assault because it is simple easy for F2P to enjoy and max toons.

Also has anyone tried Fade/Umber mission for exp flipping? What about all the other misc ones in MQ2grind. Most people just do EOK Goblins of fools + Restless assault in TOV then that mainly what i see.

I actually really liked doing the GMM one a couple times... but I've been doing Restless Assault and Mean Streets primarily.

I noticed a guy on my server he runs like 4 box crews through Restless Assault and i always wondered why? exp is garbage at 120? i understand mobs kill per min and less deaths etc. makes me wondering if vitality sharing is in the process of it hah

Mq2grind has a robust discussion thread, please post in it. You don't need your very own thread called "MQ2Grind"

I've been running restless assault for a while now with no issues, but twice in the last day or so my characters got stuck at location 10 on a rock. Not sure why the issue after so many flawless runs.

Hi guys - Now that I'm up and running with MQ and kissassist and some CWTN plugins I've been thinking about whether Grind is right for me. The concern is that my group is mixed level right now -- my tank is 116, wizzy is 115, then i have an ench, shammy, and rogue who are 100-102ish. Right now I'm just manually grinding in Overthere because I can generally pull singles, and an add wont wipe me. But my ench and shammy are still useless for crowd control the ench is too low to mezz, and the shammy can get 1 rounded if he draws aggro. It feels like the 95+ tasks might be too easy, but the 110 task too difficult if there are usually adds. Do you think I should wait until the younger chars catch up a little bit more?

Bard using kissassist, after rezed just chases group. Not sure why kissassist doesnt resume. This only seems to be the case when using grind. Any suggestions?

Interesting setup. You will definitely run into some kind of problems with missing CC, depending on your tank aoe hate and beefyness. What I would do: ask @hytiek for a trial account, and give GMM (I'd try that first) and G&F a try. Exp will suck for your mains, but probably help your alts to catch up? Then you will see how that works out. I believe GMM could be better because I very rarely got more than 3 mobs, at the most 4. In G&F - could be 7+, then it gets hairy :)

Ah - I see you jumped the gun already and invested in a grind license, you won't regret it! Also seeing from a different post that G&F is playing out well for you - that's great, the level cap on the gobbos is in your favor (and the high lvl of the driver is keeping add # low). Give GMM a try, the mobs there scale to, uh, 111? It's also a semi-good mission to complete at the end of the day (run grind, pause before last waypoint, then run and kill the other wereorcs, lot chest for nice stuff - everything prestige only, though, if I remember correctly). Also bonus: traveling there is fast.

Hey there - when such a thing happens, I need the LOC, a screen shot of said rock, something to help me identify the thing that caused the issue.

Also - out of curiosity are you running a crawl with selos? :) If so; stop using selos... you will over shoot locations and gain proximity aggro unexpectedly

You have a scenario for sure! If I were in this situation ... I would AAXP on the higher level toons while normal XP on the lower until they are balanced on Level.

You've got to find the best place for your group though...

That's a great idea - it makes sense since the free AA gravy train ended at 115 and will allow me to move up to a slightly harder task while still catching up the youngsters. Thanks for making an amazing plugin. With every solution comes a new problem even if it's a good one, and now mine is since Grind dominates mobs so quickly I need to sort out a more automatic looting tool!

Thanks, I'll try that one out next! As Grind was dominating the Goblins I was thinking to myself it would be great to be able to stop it from quitting the task at the end of the night so i could finish off the task, but I didn't see a command for that. Pause just sounded too easy!

If I may, avoid GMM ... the mesh / zone is a dumpster fire.

Rather, spend an hour or so and sort out Contract of War progression (TBL) and use that until you are up to acceptable levels.

For autolooting, find lootly or yalm

I had a similar situation as I added some new guys to toons I had collecting dust. With grind, even the lower mission, xp will add up and help the lowbies catch up. Then I ended up just testing the waters, and slowly was able to knock out the higher mission with some upgraded gear to the noobs who would get 1 rounded when multiple were pulled into camp. Shoot, my zerk was naked except a weapon until he was like 100 or 105.

I did the 1st mission (in frontier if I remember) than I went to GMM. I did have to watch them a bit more closely to make sure they weren't stuck on rocks or some overhead object that got them hung up on occasion. I am still working through the progression for statos mission, but I ended up maxing AA and 115 before I needed it, so now I am just working some old school progression stuff while I wait to bite the bullet and buy new expac.

I am still working through the progression for statos mission
Yea, the progression for statos mission seemed a little hairy, so I am hoping to avoid that if GMM allows me to get everyone up to 115ish and move over to ToV

I might not be a good benchmark here, but TBL progression took me an estimated 12 hrs (ok, could shave off 4 if you don't find out halfway that one step is individual and not group) - CoW is a very sweet zone for finishing, but XP wise, about the same as GMM I'd say.

I poked around in TBL, the first two quests are relatively easy. But then it comes to doing one of the trials and it got very complicated very quickly so I bailed out. I know this is old content now, but I have to believe there’s suitable 110-115ish tasks somewhere that arent nested behind 5 tasks.

I tried Restless in GD and it was doable with singles and doubles but there’s a few spots where 4adds can come and that felt too much without intervening and using some discs.

I’ve headed back to GMM to just do a slow and very easy grind until all my alts are 112 then trying again. Onward and upward!

So i've been cycling GMM task, and i thought I'd be nice to my guys and turn on the "wait for full mana" button. i'm not that greedy for xp that I want to work my chars to the bone, everyone deserves a break to full mana. But little did I know I was setting them up for disaster because while they were paused in the breakroom a Bloodmoon darkfist came in and smashed his proverbial fist into all of them, and they did nothing about it because they were paused. This good deed went punished, so i turned off the full mana option.

I think it's just a roamer at the end of the 27th spot, but it foiled me more than once before I figured out what was happening.

Yes, that happens if the 11th mob of the first charge does not end up being killed :) 1 in 100 G&F runs, I was surprised with 2 mobs at zone in, that was also fun :)

Good day !

I am new to these nice plugins so apologize if this has been answered already. I have a bunch of fresh level 100 with horrible gear and even the lowest grind is tough on them. My tank just runs from WP to WP without any regards to the group mana/endurance situation. Been trying to find a way to let everyone med before moving to the new set of mobs. Can anyone help ?

Hi :) I feel you, having started at 95 at Goblins & Fools. This hopefully is helpful to you: https://www.redguides.com/community/threads/mq2grind.75417/page-30#post-546508

(I would definitely also try GMM and see how many adds you get)

I actually really liked doing the GMM one a couple times... but I've been doing Restless Assault and Mean Streets primarily.
Do I need 2 healers for Mean Streets? I have a full group at 120. SK, SHM, BRD, RNG, BST, ROG. Most of the important AA's are done on all of them. SK is in group gear. Just over 9k AC buffed. I seriously can't stand to look at Restless Assault anymore lol.

No, but your bard will need to mez. There's a few triple pulls

Question, does the plugin run the two NoS missions (Shar Vahl Divided & Deepshade) or just kill mobs and such and loot collectables in the instances?

Sometimes i run with a dmg merc, and if the merc dies it doesnt get revived so it wont be able to cycle to the next task because the quest giver thinks not all group members are nearby. Is there a setting i'm missing for it to revive a merc 5 mins after it dies? Preferably i'd also wait inside the last task for that to happen rather than in the open world. Thanks!

you could run Cannonballdex's Lua "easy" .. it has a section for merc handling...

Thanks so much for the continued hard work on this plugin, saved me tons of time leveling alts and catching up with AA's. I hope the baby girl is happy and healthy!

I've been grinding in the "Mean Streets" instance with my almost 100% group geared group/tank. I didn't see anything in the FAQ or the ini, but I'm curious if it's possible for me to adjust some of the waypoints. My group (SK/BL/BRD/SHM/BER/MAG) is very much on the cusp of being able to run this without incident and only self-buffs, but there are a few waypoints that put the tank (Group geared SK) into a less than desirable position for a pack of 3, and when cleric/druid buffs fade, these 3 pack groups have a small chance of wacking my tank. This generally happens because the tank runs to a pack of 3, there is a delay (~1 second) after the mobs engage and MQ2Eskay takes over, and the tank will have his back turn to 2 of the 3 mobs for ~2-3 seconds before AE mez goes off. I think this could be 100% mitigated if the MQ2Grind waypoint was a bit further off from some of these packs of mobs so it pulls the mobs, increasing the likelihood of all 3 of them staying in front of my tank (increasing melee mitigation) and giving a little bit more time for the bard to get that AE mez off.

I know replacing 1 of my DPS with a Cleric merc would probably solve this as well (going to test that soon once one of my DPS max out AA's), but I think I could help greatly improve survivability with just 1 healer :).

I'd like to be able to play around with waypoint location, but if this isn't currently an option, I can document some of the more problematic waypoints for you and give feedback as well.

Thanks again!

I messed around with a melee DPS merc with a 5-box for the longest time, and I finally caved and made a heroic Mag (which I've been leveling with this plugin and it's wonderful). If you can at all swing it, highly encourage you to replace that merc with a DPS class of some kind, you'll be so much better off for it.

I'm very open to re-eval the way points, if there's something specific (location) that you want me to look at, let me know what step # or the location area and I'll be more than happy to look.

For what it's worth, if you aren't happen with how the way points are, you might look into using the `/grind custom` side of MQ2Grind which gets you into the instance, then at the staging location executes a script that you configure and have written to do what / where you want.

Just 2 cents.

Thanks, yes I agree a real char is preferred. I decided to go with 5 first and wait for the 6th so I could find out what I felt I was missing the most then go back and PL that 6th char with 5 120’s later on.

That's exactly what I did as well haha. I messed around with a few methods of controlling the DPS merc, and couldn't find something that allowed me to keep it on "burn" and consistently alive. I didn't have much issue on "balanced", but it's DPS is abysmal already and keeping it in balanced dropped it to like 200-250k dps. By comparison, my heroic mage that I'm PL'ing with MQ2Grind started out DPS'ing my AA maxed out melee DPS merc around lvl 113 (still wearing lvl 100 heroic gear lol).

Oh I completely missed the /grind custom option, I will check it out. I moved over to the Deepshade instance (The Spirit Fades) and it seems to be much more manageable (I don't think I've seen more then a 2 pull).

I have noticed an issue I've seen twice now with location 11/30 in this one though where it seems to move onto a rock nearby it (haven't yet caught why it moves here) and just sits there until I manually move the character off of it, at which point MQ2Grind picks back up and continues on it's merry way. Will try to see if I can catch the situation where this happens, have only seen it twice in maybe 30 runs so far.

I've seen that if you running with selos. Are you?

Been doing a ton of restless assault, got so bored that i actually fell asleep and my party wiped and i slept through the 3hr res window. I dont recommend that :)

Of the TOV and COV tasks, which one would you say has the least number of large pulls? Singles and doubles are fine, but when it's 3-4 sometimes i start to lose my tank on a bad damage spike
