MQ2EQBC

Release MQ2EQBC

So my accounts log in just fine, I log in using the profile but when I go to issue commands it says it can not connect to the server. I did search online but nothing I found relates to this. Any ideas?

are you trying to use eqbc? (some folks aren't, but clicked something and now it is doing a thing) --- dannet is the "default" and suggested/recommended these days
do you have eqbcS (eqbc SERVER) running?
did you connect and set autoconnect?
/bccmd connect 127.0.0.1 2112
/bccmd set autoconnect on

is eqbc allowed on your firewall / windows permission?

make sure you load the plugin mq2eqbc., and have run the eqbcs.exe and its currently running, then use the

/bccmd reconnect
/bccmd set autoconnect on

to set your toon to autoconnect in the future

I am. I prefer to KISS so I ran it with very little change. I should have put in that it was working fine last night. I camped to desktop, logged in today and i've got this issue.

kiss uses dannet (and prefers it for checking buffing) just as a means of clarification.

well something is off.

either
a: you dont have the server running paired with the plugin in game
b: you're not connected to it --- the 127.0.0.1 tells it "connect to myself" - if you're using a different ip address, ensure that the local ip address you have to connect to matches, if you were 192.168.1.104 and changed to 192.168.1.105 it wouldn't connect
c: something is preventing it from running like firewall issue or A/V

I’m in the same situation, with getting “not connected” warning but I’m not trying to use EQBC. I’ve been using Dannet for years. Not sure what changed or what I accidentally clicked. I’m full Kissassist boxing.

Sorry, I mean K.I.S.S not KISSassist. I realized after I typed that that that probably wasn't the best acronym to use.

It actually self solved, I compeletely rebooted the PC and poof, works like a charm. Thanks for stepping in by the way, appreciate the quick reply :)

Hi. I got a new PC. Installed MQ2 on it. But I can see the console in game and can’t get my character to connect to my other PC. What am I missing?

Thanks
P

I feel like you're referring to something like EQBC?

First you need to launch EQBCS (should be in the right click of the MQ tray icon as an option)

If that's the case then you need /plugin mq2EQBC
on both computers.

then /bccmd connect
on both computers.

If this isn't what you're talking about, then we'll need more information.

Hi, I'm trying to launch the game from Redfetch, and I have a question. All the characters enter the game (after rewrite profiles...), but MQ2autogroup and others isn't working. I checked, and I see that /bcga isn't working. It used to work fine (see screenshot), and now I can't send commands to the other characters in the group. Any ideas? I tried the option in the MQ2 menu (at the bottom of the Windows taskbar) to activate the EQBCS server, but it didn't solve the problem. Could you tell me where I can find step-by-step instructions on how to activate Redfetch so that everything works like it did with the original version?

Thanks, and please excuse my English (I learned it in EQ).

Are your characters connected to eqbc `/bccmd connect`?

Is EQBCS running (black box application)?

In your Macroquest directory you can open EQBCS.exe and the black box will come up. Connect your toons with `/bccmd connect 127.0.0.1 2112`, and you should be good. If it says they're connected but they really aren't `/bccmd quit` then try again.

I highly recommend reading the docs for eqbc, as it's one of the most powerful tools that ships with MQ. https://www.redguides.com/docs/projects/mq2eqbc/

Once you get familiar with it, and get more advanced you can connect 3rd party apps to EQBC, and even compile it on a Linux machine for more stability and to be able to communicate with all the other computers that are connected to it.

Had some issues the past couple of days. Not sure if it is because I tried installing redfetch instead of the launcher or not. But EQBCS was working great and yesterday it stopped working even though it looked like it was still connected. I closed it all and restarted / reconnected a few times and eventually it started working again. But some hours later it stopped again.

The cmd window is still open and I can see characters reporting stuff in there but they don't communicate with each other.

for eqbc to work you need:
eqbcs (server) running
eqbc plugin running on each toon
each toon configured to connect to eqbcs (server)
unless you're having it run on another pc, or have something unusual with how you're using your eqbcs (server) you can just follow the instructions tab
Less:
/bccmd connect 127.0.0.1 2112
/bccmd set autoconnect on

this says "please connect to eqbc on this computer and set it to automatically connect to it if/when i come in game"

There's not really a way that they can be *using* eqbc/eqbcs but not "see" each other - which differs from dannet - because eqbc has to connect to a server, and if they're all on the server, then they see each other.

It works most of the time it just must have crashed or something. Last couple of days it stops broadcasting commands after hours of use. My only clue is that I logged in a trader and it said, "MQ2EQBC: did not receive expected ping from server, pinging.."

I think I worked out what's happening. /bcga does not work. /bcaa works but only for the character I use it on. I have no idea why. Also both work for a while, it just stops working after a while. Maybe it is a problem with the server I'm on? /gsay shows up still. So weird.

p.s. I tried disbanding the group and remaking it. Still no luck.

Also the group based dannet commands are not working either.

The only thing I can think of that changed is that I installed button master. But then I uninstalled it.

p.s. Ahh I had about 10 MQ icons in taskbar. I guess it crashed or something.

Are you using multiple computers? or just one? If multiple, may need to check that they are all in same workgroup in Windows. Also need to make sure that the computers not running EQBC Server are pointing to the one with Server running.
