I may have missed it somewhere in the 25 pages of discussion, but I would like to make a request for outside dps support. Perhaps there is already, but I was wondering if there was a way for outside dps support? I know with the interface "assist" it will assist based on MA. Is there a chance to add a text box to the interface where you can manually type in the characters name you would like to assist? Would be a nice feature to have. This would go for Bst,rogue as well since i have them.

Loving the utility of this plugin. But I have yet to see the massive DPS that others are reporting. Actually, I am seeing DPS well below my mage and druid, both sustained and burn.

Leveled to 115, have all tomes/discs (none reported missing). T1 ToV 2HB/2HP. Have auto-granted AA's and starting to work on AA's full-time. Everything is pretty much out-of-the-box settings for MQ2Zerk (no BYOS).

I expect that with minimal AA's he might not perform to the level of my other toons with full DPS AA's, and am willing to put in the AA's to get him up to snuff. My question is - what AA's should be prioritized?

I can/have looked on the zerker sites and have some general ideas, but I figure there is little point investing in AA's that the plugin won't utilize (or create my own burn macros - but I don't see people saying they are using any to get the results being quoted). I have tried initiating a burn and watching the plugin output, but didn't see many being activated (could have been on cooldown - it wasn't a well controlled experiment). Can anyone provide a list of the burn AA's that the plugin will take full advantage of?
 
HDex directly influences your chance to hit. With berzerker doing massive hits every time it lands, if you miss, then you lose on a lot of DPS. Hunt HDex Augs.

AA's are pretty important for a berzerker and autogrant while helpful isn't sufficient to get the numbers that others have. For instance, maxing out Savage Spirit, getting the Synergy AA's maxxed, Burst of Power, various other abilities such as intimidation maxed out, as well as thing such as your veteran's wrath and anything else that might effect your critical hit chance/damage. If you gleam through the Class or Focus AA tabs you'll find that there is a ton of stuff that will assist you in getting more DPS out of your character with every AA spent.

The plugin will try to utilize any Active AA's that produce more DPS. Change the filter for your AA window to "Can Activate" if it adds to DPS, it's used. Savage Spirit being the trigger for your primary burn disc.

Communion of Blood - This will help sustain your Endurance. Highly recommended even though it doesn't actively give you DPS, it's nessesary to do other things that do.

Synergy - It's a TON of AA's. But also very important that you understand that when you start on this the plugin will automatically want to use a lower level ability in an attempt to trigger Synergy. Lower level abilities will mean lower DPS potential. But it will be higher than if we never triggered Synergy because the buff goes to the entire group as ADPS. Max out your Synergy to use your level 111+ abilities to trigger it and get the best bang for your keypress.

I hope this gets you steered into the right direction as far as AA's and augments go. Should hopefully lead you to a much better DPS experience.

But my first attempt at a manual burn only showed 2 AA's being fired (can't recall what they were right now), which I figured was a bit low seeing as auto-grant gets me at least some level in almost all of the activate-able AA's. But like I said, it wasn't the most controlled experiment in the world.

Without being able to look 'under the hood' it's a bit difficult to figure out what order makes the most sense. Good to know about Synergy - I usually just try to blow through to the max level so that it is used, but knowing the behavior at lower levels will avoid some confusion.

to add to what chat said, zerkers while they do give *some* stuff with synergy and whatnot are primarily "takers" - you need to provide them adps from classes like, bst, shm, bard, etc, parking 1 zerker with a 5 wizards isn't going to help you much. They are selfish "takers". I personally usually run 2 zerkers (with forcealliance) and 1 bst (and bard) - with a 110 group (not 115, 110), with a mix of tov t1 and heroic gear I could 1 drop griklor with this group (sk, clr, bard, zerk, zerk, bst) - not max AA for 110, but they had their focus and such, both zerks had 2.0, bard had 2.0 etc

since it sounds like your zerk is relatively new, definitely don't put off getting your 2.0 - you should stop what you're doing and immediately go and do that if you haven't already.

definitely make sure you have axes (tho we have it spam you if you are missing axes)

re: dicho/dissi - don't forget these are progressive abilities as well - not only do you have to double check that you *actually* have dissident, because dbg is incompetent, but increasing your ranks via progression is a large boost to dmg

(in case you don't see it using dissient)
Q. Why does it not use Dissident?
A. EQ Has an issue where it doesn't give you your rank 1, even if you have Dissident Rage - If you have Tier 1 of Dissident ensure you actually have the "Dissident Rage 1" in your spell book - if you do not, go to Virtuous Dusk in Stratos and say "reminder" to "update" your rank 1 ability

the only things i change on my zerkers (i usually run 2 in my main groups) is i use usealliance with forcealliance on, i have my assistat set for 100, and i have switchwithma on - other than that they're out-the-box

Hdex - you see some nice jumps at 1200-1400, then again at like 1900 -don't skimp on type 5s, even getting the 32 hdex type 5s from TBM is a fast/cheap/easy way to get *some* hdex

I also (my new team doesn't have, but definitely on my short list) recommend getting one of the +5 accuracy type 18 augs for either a piece of TBL chase loot, or the ToV earring

Your AAs are an absolute significant amount of damage, because of how zerkers function - the focus tab is also obnoxious because of how dbg did it --- you can actually *LOSE* dps by going from 110 max AA to 115 without keeping your focus AAs in line because you lose your focus on your new skills until you get the correct rank to give your 111-115 skill the focus boost.

everquest is a game of inches, and there are a lot of inches to gain, and they add up pretty substantially over time.
 
Thanks for the replies. I fully expect to have to put in the effort to get there - primary question was where to invest the AA's, since I can't peak under the hood to see what will get used when.

Had the same sort of issue with SK, but it was easier, e.g. the standard MQ2Eskay spell lineup doesn't really use DoT's, so I am leaving DoT focus AA's till the end (eventually, everything will be maxed anyway). With Zerker it's a bit harder since there is no spell lineup to look at, so I can only go by what I see being fired off.

With KA on my other toons, I can, say, focus on maxing DoT AA's and then change my DPS section to prioritize DoT's until I work on my DD AA's. Or arrange my burns based on the AA's I have. With Zerker, I still feel a bit in the dark. But that's OK - still love the simplicity of it.

Just wish Zerker gained AA at the same rate as my SK. SK is getting 1.7X more AA XP per kill than the Zerker.
 
When you buy the license for this is it only MQ2Berserker or do you get access to the other CWTN class plugins? If not, is there some sort of bundle deal if you buy more than one?

each plugin is separate 1 year license
you can try everything out for free on test server with your regular VV membership
there are currently no bundles

I chalk it up to my inexperience and lack of knowledge, but I cannot get my Zerker to work outside of group.
I killed the KissAssist_Character.ini and made a brand new one. Then target the MA/MT and start it, then MQ2Berzerker on mode 0. Nothing. Sits there.
 
i just got some circle of power items for the zerks last night. if i put them in the burn clicky will they both fire them off at the same time?

the plugin will check to see if your have the circle of power buff before clicking it. It’s just that they are trying to fire simultaneously. Variously try
1) stagger your assistat. Try 98 and 80
2) register them in different /addclicky modes one in Offensive and one in Burn and one in Defensive maybe
3) set up an MQ2React, where Name is Steve then fire at 98 and else where name is Austin (and not have buff) then fire at 95
 
@vandersl Where to put the AA's is 100% up to you.

The plugin uses all active AAs to the best of it's ability. It's good to unlock at least one rank in every AA that can be activated. They are primarily used for burns. Burns matter only when you are burning. It's BEST to max them all out.

Passive AA's which give DPS the plugin doesn't need to use and are always active, regardless if you are burning or not. I cannot say which passive AAs to get in what order to get more DPS sooner than later. I can only suggest getting them all.

Synergy should be done sooner than later, keep the ability maxxed for your level.

I'll look into having it handle both targetable clickies and self only clickies. ShrinkGroup was added, but ShrinkSelf was not. So the plugin only knows how to shrink the entire group with a targeted clicky and doesn't check to ensure it's not a self only clicky.

The download only has a .dll file is there suppose to be more? Where is the installation instructions?
 
Nope it's just a .dll. Once Dled place it in the release folder. Then once in game on your zerker do /plugin mq2berzerker load

Once you purchase it you will download it from the redguide's launcher - you don't need to download the .dll directly as the launcher will not only download it, but place it where it needs to be

is there a way to save my selected settings and window placement? I am playing on EMU and love the plugin, but every time I log off and back on everything resets to default settings/placement.

We discussed rogue actually. He doesn't use one and me and him need to sit down and go over the class is all. He did say he planned to make one at some point.
 
I do have a rogue. Stuff just takes time.

I was only testing zerker and rogue, i didnt help with any coding on them until after they were released, starting with warrior and monk, then eskay, clr, and bst really, wasnt until i started helping that i started doing the more in depth vids, especially since the entire suite of plugins has gotten more options and more complicated.


I have a long list of vids i need/want to do for cwtn stuff and mq2 in general
 
@ChatWithThisName @Sic Thanks for the work you guys do on this stuff. I only got in to mq2 because of your videos sic, and both of you guys make me want to learn how to code etc....it has always interested me but never had the time to sit and attempt to learn until now.
 
@ChatWithThisName What would cause my zerker to spam "this life was better off alone" & "Time bleeds like a wound that's lost all meaning" in say over and over? I have his default settings in all windows to group but it keeps going to say and its over n over and pretty obvious.

@Sic Thank you! I do have MQ2Events loaded on the zerker and I do have the performer stuff in there. Thank you so very much for pointing me to the problem appreciate it!
 
I bought Mq2berzerker hoping to use it on test server. I download mq2berzerker and placed in the macros section of the red guides folder. Then I updated mq2 VV then updated mq2berzerker from the launcher as well. I still get the popup error message as shown on this overview page. What am I doing wrong here?
 
hummm if i remember well , mq2zerker is free on test server.
On launcher, did you select test server instead of live?
 
I had a similar problem. I think the issue is that you DL'd the live version of MQzerker and copied it to the Test instance. All the CWTN plugins come standard with the VV install on Test, you don't need to download it again. I would wait till VV is updated for today then do an update . After you do the update, the Launcher will give you the option to Reinstall. Good chance that this will fix the problem.
