Bypassed the patcher so dunno if there was an update but working fine more me on test after the emergency down time today.

Anyone else crashing after the char select screen but before they can load in? Ran the updater a few times and restarted my computer and it still does it.

Yea looks like something is up with this compile. We'll have to wait and see.

Can you post the plugin block of your ini?

right-click MQ2 icon -> ini file

copy & paste the [plugins] block

if a dump file is created, please send it on to @eqmule

So it crashes while logging in but if you log in and then start eq it seems to be working until you try to zone and then it crashes again.

Was another update to test server after the patch. :(

Friday December 15, 2017 5:50 PM . Just curious if anyone else is waiting on test update? Just going through withdrawals atm and wanted to make sure it wasn't for nothing. HaHa.

I know they changed a lot with the last patch and Mule had a lot to deal with in this patch, has there been any updates on the compile?

Still working on it about 16 hours per day. We have the offsets ready. Doing structs now. Hopefully I can get it working before they patch live next week.

This long delay is a temporary thing, once I have this exe figured out the next will be done within hours as usual.

Test players suffer the most cause I take my time with that client to learn all the changes so patching live is faster...

This is the most changed exe they have released for years which is why it takes long, sorry.
All the tools that I use for automated fixing has to be retargeted for the new exe. This is very rare and hopefully they will last for a few years after it's done.

I'm ingame with mq loaded currently but there are many plugins that needs fixing as well, itemdisplay crashes me right now and there are many more that needs looking at...

Test was patched on 02/26/18 - I am just wondering when Very Vanilla Compile TEST SERVER 20180226 is going to come out? I need my MQ2 fix :D

We are still playing catch-up upgrading our tools etc (IDA 7.0) which is why this is taking longer than usual I'll try to have it done today.

Thanks for updating! I just updated it, but when I run EverQuest and after I log into the Test Server, EQ force closes and only force closes when I run "RedGuides Very Vanilla (Test)". Any ideas?

@eqmule I am also getting a hard crash when i log in, right at the end of the loading screen before character select.

I tried with the base compile, and tried with less and less plugins and re-logging in.. (one at a time)

This is what i ended up with, but still crashing.. didnt want to remove these last ones as my understanding is they are required:

I shouldn't have uploaded that last compile, it had a crash in it, I apologize.

In the middle of figuring out the issue and the servers came down, this might need to wait until tomorrow or late this evening.

I'm uploading a new version of Very Vanilla, untested due to servers being down.

On default macroquest.ini settings (deleted my ini to let it create one anew), same thing, no crash window, but at character select, right when its about to go into the game, instant crash to desktop with no popup windows from EQ..

I did not get a crash window either. It just shuts down the EQ windows. It does this when using the MQ2 autologin and when refreshing injections after getting inworld using the EQ launcher.

I forgot to add, it will also shut down the EQ windows if EQ is already running and MQ2 is loaded.

I'm not finding a crashdump because of this quick hard crash its doing.. not allowing it to generate one that I can find..

any suggestions? I know logging isnt going to do much because it doesnt actually get IN the game..

You need to attach visual studio to the process and debug as soon as it starts, it will catch the crash. I just found a ctd feature in MQ2FPS that way.

Just tried the new Test compile with the fixed item issues. It is still crashing same as before. Sorry, I do not know how to use VS to debug, or I would.

Just tried both the full download, as well as tried with the installer and ran updater, same action.. crashes between char select and getting ingame, or if loading to an existing running eq game, insta-desktop crash..
