When using /zone to or from anywhere Everquest ends up crashing.I've tried running MQ2 as an administrator and re downloading the latest compile to no avail.A friend of mine using the same compile has no issues zoning at all, does anyone have any ideas as to the problem?

/plugin mq2addicts
/plugin mq2piggyzone

If you are still crashing sounds like something is bad in your compile. Download the latest compile and try running it right out of the folder after unzipping. Don't copy or paste anything just see if mq2piggyzone runs out of the new folder. If it does work check your normal mq2 folder and delete any old mq2piggyzone dll or ini files.

Have to ask, you are not on an EMU server right?

you wouldn't happen to have an old plugin that we don't support running do you? If it's blocking the wrong packet, that could cause the zoning issue.

Yes i did, was a fresh down load from two days ago and have since redownloaded and am still having the same problem.

Unloading and reloading piggyzone fixes the problem but i have to do it every time i log on.

I am having the same issue, just redownloaded and still crashes while zoning. can /warp within zones just crashes while zoning.

Here is the macroquest.ini fresh download new folder.

Any ideas?

'My wife and dad both started having this problem when they bought new computers with windows 7. We have not yet figured out exactly what is casuing it or how to fix it, but here is what we have tried.

Dad - Thinks it has to due with the order in which he loads the programs, (I forget which is first) but once he changes toons he will crash every time unless he restarts the computer.

Wife - Tried setting all programs (EQ & MQ) to be run as administrator. She gets an error whenever she loads EQ that must be canceled / ignored, (I forget which). She rarely crashs but also she rarely changes toons once we get logged in.

We all use the not-addidcted official compile, downloaded seperatly for each computer. I have tried coping my entire macroquest folder to the other computers. It did not make a difference.

I am blaming windows 7 for the problem. Unfortunatly one of my computers is having trouble starting in the morning so I too will soon get to deal with windows 7.

Start menu > Run > CMD

type "net user administrator /active:yes"

Activates windows built in administrator account. This is not "Administrator Mode"

Log out and log back in as administrator

Fire everything up and try again.

Well I seemed to find a way to get this to work on the computer affected by this but I have no idea why this works.

Step 1) empty out any plugins that auto load in your macroquest.ini file. So your plugins section is empty
[Plugins]

Then after you are in EQ, load the following one by one using /plugin name
mq2addicts
mq2hud
mq2chatwnd
mq2piggyzone

Now zoning works fine. If I restart and it auto loads those plugins it crashes immediately to desktop but repeating this procedure works fine. Perhaps one of these plugins are initializing too early or in the wrong order??? Either way this works now without too much awful hassle. No idea why the other computer with win7 doesnt have this issue.

alright ty, i also crash randomly when running a macro. Actually saw the crash for the first time just now. was in the middle of casting a spell no errors in the macro and suddenly a black screen. had to tab out and force close eq

i use mq2twist and crash, but as i've mentioned to you before, i crash on only some of the char's and once i reload them they usually don't crash again until i log all the way out. occasionally I will log the toon all the way back in from a crash and will have them crash again.

so after further test i have unloaded all my plugins camp, reloaded a few by hand. and tried to /zone and still crashed. so it seems everytime i have to login i have to unload and reload piggy zone for it to work.

funny thing is /gate works fine

More info, i did a complete reformat of my computer installed all of my newest drivers and redownloaded both everquest and macroquest and i still crash unless i unload and reload piggyzone.

It seems other plugins have a similar problem. mq2dpsadv wont show up unless i reload it every time which is annoying since i have to also reload my ui which takes ages. DoCrack also has to be reloaded every time

debug info not sure if i did this right but i got something so we'll see
