• Hail, we're RedGuides. We want you to play six (yes, 6!) EverQuest characters at once. We have scripts and a friendly community to help, please join our playstyle and say hello! 👋
  • We've added LLM sections to our Terms & Rules and Resource Rules, for everyone's sanity & in-game safety.
    a. Do not replace your voice with an LLM. This goes for your posts and your scripts. Drafting and editing with a tool is fine, but don't take you out of what you share.
    b. Do not replace your EQ character's voice with an LLM. We don't want scripts that speak over /ooc, /shout or other public channels. This has been an unwritten rule that's kept casino scripts off the site for decades, but we're now compelled to make it clear: keep automated communication private.

    Why Does RG Review Scripts?
Nearly every LLM-written Lua script we see is making your character do impossible things, and rarely in a way that's beneficial to you. We've seen heavy server hammering, /target over impossible distances when /nav spawn would passively accomplish the same thing, a spawn search that fires 20+ times per second, and other pointless actions that are likely annoying GMs.

You are welcome to use LLMs as a tool to structure, draft, and edit your work, but please read critically before hitting /lua run

Question - Basic Guides to Play (Specifically Warrior)

Is there a site that shows how to play the specific classes? I've mostly only played casters. I started my toon squad with a warrior as the main and I have like BASIC questions. What's a good weapon? Should I dual wield or use a shield? That basic...

That made me wonder if there's a site that has those guides easily findable... any help?

Edit: I just hit level 35 last night. Test server. Some of these responses assume I'm way higher level. Haha

It might help if you give us more information. Are you on a TLP? Live server? Raid guild? Group Gear? Raid Gear? Bra size? etc.

A recent warrior guide posted to the class Discord server. Fucking wordy, so if you want short and sweet, this isn't it. For a 125 warrior, easy enough to downlevel skills.

Not a raid guide; group focused. And for your one specific question, dual-wield if you can handle the mobs, which once you are in current gear, you will be able to. Most warriors are almost full-time dual-wielding these days. Much higher DPS and appropriately geared warriors don't need the shield (use your own judgment on named mobs). Possibly depending on your weapons, use 2Handed if you're second tanking and do more DPS 2Handed or draw too much aggro (pulling off the main tank) with your dual weapons.

I'm level 35 on test with defiant gear.

Thanks! This helps out for some of the basic questions. I'll try reading the guide to see.

Lots of reading here.

Although this is for progression, it may help with the lower levels more so than other resources

This has some further links in it to good resources

Hope you enjoy your warrior! (should have made a Ranger!)

This is much better information for your situation. Very different game below 100 than after 100.

This is so good! As a raid tank myself I picked up some new stuff from this. This would have been so helpful 2 years ago when learning my warrior.
