Problem - 12/5/2023 EQ Windows Randomly Closing? (1 Viewer)

Logged in with my 6 accounts and have had the windows of different accounts randomly close at different times. Seems to be no rhyme or reason for it. Anyone else experiencing this since the new patch?
 
Still quite a lot of crashing when I zone. Maybe you get the dump uploads, idk.

Playing without maps and I may as well not use MQ! Minimum 1 out of 6 crashes with every zone. It's just roulette as to which one it is. CWTN, KA, no automation (manually played), etc. Doesn't matter.

I was experiencing the same symptoms, but after disabling everything in the image sic shared above of the plugins that have calls to "OnAddSpawn", I stopped seeing crashes. And while in the zone, I turn mq2map back on and all is well, just remember to disable before zoning.
 
not sure if this helps. but i noticed the highest level of crash whenever I asked all 6 boxers to move to another zone /bcaa //travelto <>. They don't all crash. Only one or two crash. I will try again after disabling all plugins except mq2nav

I disabled almost everything including mq2map. I am still getting one of my box crashed during zoning. Will try again with the only absolute needed for zoning in via autotravel.

Temporary Solution for EasyFind Travel and 'Come To Me' Macro for those who just want the abillity to travel while the devs are working to fix the crash bug:

Have a macro in your social that looks like this:
/bcaa //target <Your main tank name>
/bcaa //nav target

Prerequisite to using this:
-Have MQ2EQBC plugin turned on.
-In each of your character window, type in /bccmd connect.

That's it!

Here is also my basic .ini file that does not seem to have that many crashing during zoning. Perfect for those who only want to use the travel feature. Note: You do not need mq2map turned on to use mq2nav it seems.

This MacroQuest.ini works for me. (I only posted the plugins section from the configuration file)



Hope this helps someone who just wants the ability to travel! I will use this as a base and incrementally turn on plugin. I tested this with all 6 boxers and I am no longer randomly crashing.

Incidentally, if you need to turn off and on all your other boxer's plugin

create a macro that says:
/bcaa //plugin <name> load/unload
so that you can still use those plugins as needed and turn them off when you are about to zone.
 
FWIW, I loaded MQ2Maps on my SK and crashed immediately upon zoning the next time. This is after not crashing with at least 100 zone changes in the last 24 hours with map unloaded.
Fun little test with unsurprising results.
 
Have a macro in your social that looks like this:

Good macros and work-arounds. One comment here is to default to travel without targeting, especially when the targeting may be outside LoS:

/bcaa //nav spawn <your main tank name>

That will have the same result without (potentially) targeting across the zone.

ever since update and release of new xpac I seem to have a random toon crash when zoning sometimes. Been happening pretty frequently any ideas?

Yep, do a search, there's lots of posts about it. Some people have good results with turning MQmaps off, but it seems to have made it worse for me, I went from losing one or 2 per zone to 4 or 5. My new plan is to lurk until I see a fixed post then play again.
 
It is a problem with MQ2Map. I reran the mesh updater and no problems yet. Will advise.
Yea I ran mesh updater yesterday too and all were updated. I thought it very strange as I check that 3/4 times a week. Literally ever file was received again(?). No crashes last night. Didn't really do much 'n not been on yet today. Side issue any known reason why Dogpile can't deliver Krono purchases promptly? It's past a joke now, gonna have to buy outside I guess, good suggestions anyone? Thanks
 
Hi, sorry to bother you all, i can log into game, pop chars but in a few seconds an error apears randomly one char o another diferent, and im not able to solve it. im using last version, and just updated

Thanks for the reply. But in my case that is not the solution, since I have the GameFace Inspector=0 line set correctly. I'm going to try it in different areas, so I can know when it does it most often.
Now it happens to me almost always when entering the zone when using MQ2grind.
 
on that post if you read it, it was suggested that you delete that line entry. im no expert but just following what the developers are saying
Sorry, I didn't understand it correctly. I have only looked to see that I had that line as they put it, that is, equal to 0, but I have not eliminated it. I'm going to try to delete it and tell you. Thanks anyway for the help.
 
again i know im in the wrong place but...couldnt find the trouble shooting after last patch update spot...so here goes

after the last patch have been loosing multipul toons when i zone. the crash could be one toon or 10 of the 12, never know. I unloaded mq2maps and it stopped. not sure what is going on but figured i would see if anyone else has the isses? love these programs and thanks for making them.
 
I've had characters crashing who were sitting in the GL not moving.

But all things considered, this has been a very smooth launch.
Same here. Most of the time, I crash (on one of the two toons I am boxing - never both at once) when I zone, but more than once I have crashed just sitting in lobby doing nothing at all, or possibly browsing bazaar.
 
I'm sure the devs will get it figured out. :) At the moment for me it has got worse. Every time I zone now someone crashes where as before it was only sometimes (maps and spawnmaster are turned off). Once in zone no problems, crashes will happen just sitting at lag piles as well.

Edit: Happens only when I have chaseon/follow me... and they auto click on the door. If i do it manually no problems

seems to be all sorted now, yesterday game was almost unplayable as toons were crashing left right and centre, even just sat in lobby, However today not one single crash, so it was either the power cut or the fresh build downloaded.

The cause of the crashes or the cause of the message in the log from the actor subsystem?

The crashes have been fixed. I figured it out late last night.

The log you posted above is irrelevant and doesn't mean anything to you.
