As a virgin computer geek with a resentment toward women, as they won't blow me for even a fist full of dollars, I find this whole idea of taking a geeky past time, throwing in a couple of hot chicks, who would never be caught dead in the same room as said geeks who play the game let alone fuck them, turning said geeky past time into a staged hot bed of sin, sex and utter depravity... THEN filming it, utterly appalling and ironic!

What the producers of this "artistic" piece are saying, is that World of Warcraft is sexy, steamy, popular and the people within it desirable beyond all measure. However, when one looks at the ACTUAL people that sit their fat arse down, log in with their cheetos stained fingers and actually play this game, you quickly find that the sexy moniker is certainly NOT relating to the people who are in effect the denizens of Azeroth.

I for one do not want my past time portrayed as a virtual red-light district, where one can get their rocks off by simply walking into a female orc camp, dropping your chain mail pants and yelling "Zug Zug", when in fact the only action I get is from Mrs Palmer! It's NOT FAIR! >

Why are you complaining? I'm an extremely attractive hetrosexual male and I play WoW too and yet I get no play off the women (in WoW), the problem is that women who play either do it because:

A) they aren't women but gender confused men
B) their significant (male or female) other does, so they're off the market anyway
C) they are indescribably ugly and enjoy "cyber"
D) they are attractive, intelligent women however, think that all the guys who play are immature and U.G.L.Y.

So they uglies should stop complaining as they would get no play anyways whereas us studs need to complain as by playing WoW we get less play than standard, you should be used to it by now!

I am complaining, because as you have said yourself, people who play WoW get no sex, yet low live SCUM that produce droll piece of artistic CRAP like World of Whorecraft are making our game out to be a hot bed of easy sex and plentiful sinful delights.

Now if reality imitated art and I got frequent BJ's from purple skinned, long white hared, long eared women, then I would not have a problem. Well I'm sorry to hear that, in hindsight I probably should have had a look at WoWh but it's behind a filter/firewall here and not being an IT guru I can't get past it.

You say this like you don't know that this site is based on satire and stereotype. Most of what is written is meant to be funny and not to offend. Unfortunately, most people in our society are brought up believing that anything offensive should cause a just rage and just self-righteousness.

Both sides of an issue like this are to blame. If there were more open minded people and less people that make a good case for stereotyping, then we wouldn't have this issue.

So apparently someone was like, /1 OMG it's mia rose. and then someone else was like /1 She's not even that hot, her nose is fucked up. and then she was all /1 nuh uh, I got a nose job, it's good now, learn to google or check my myspace.

And then like 5 mins later, someone ELSE posted her exact myspace link in general and she got a 72 hour suspension for it, ROFL. I mean, sure that suspension wasn't exactly fair... but in a kid's game, to be running around with your character having a porn star name and encourage people to randomly search for that name on the internet, when it's going to bring up explicit material... and then act miffed when you catch a ban for it... Not to mention act like you get unwanted attention when you NAMED your toon after your porn name in an obvious grab for attention or publicity...

It's just too fuckin funny. She caught a lot of flack on gaming blogs last week and then tried to defend herself in their comments quite pitifully as well. She really is just a dumb, attention starved, literal whore. It's great.

As far as this site and the forums being satirical and comedic....I'M one of the people that has actually said that before. However, I think men don't realize how much SHIT women gamers actually take. A man playing games....well that's not novel. No one even BLINKS. Women catch a lot of hell for gaming, and not just from their spouses, like some men do.

When you are continually berated for doing something you love....you tend to take comments directed, yet again, at that thing....more seriously. And it's especially annoying when it comes from other people with the SAME hobby who SHOULD have some sort of understanding about it.

Instead of waiting to hear back from Blizzard on what the real reason was for her account getting yanked, she contacted a gaming blog who'd be more than happy to print her story. Later, she discovers that the account information was wrong.

An excerpt from an interview with Mia Rose with Amber Night.

Mia: Four days after all of this happened, I tried to login but was unable to. Then I discovered that I FINALLY had an email from Blizzard saying “sorry, your account info is wrong.” They closed my account but gave me the option of getting the owner to fill out paperwork, get it notarized, and then fax it back to them.
I technically don’t own the account, at least the way that Blizzard sees it. A year and a half ago, “Dez” (the owner of Whorecraft) talked Craven “Cory” Moorehead, a director for Peter North, into giving WoW a try. He played it to level 3, decided the game wasn’t for him, and asked if I wanted to take over the account so I wouldn’t have to buy my own copy. I loved the game—obviously, 70 levels later! lol!
I have “owned” the account ever since. Not in Blizzard’s eyes, of course. But I deleted his level 3 character and played “Mia” for the next year and a half. I payed for the account myself and have the statements to prove it. Some months ago I changed the contact info but was unable to change the name (Cory’s) to mine. I was told if I didn’t get an email regarding my suspension, the information on the account must have been wrong. But I know the email address was correct because I’ve reported some kids for harassment before. (Some examples: “you deserve to die of AIDS,” “whores don’t play WoW,” etc, etc.) I always got email from Blizzard saying they had received the complaints, so I’m still a bit confused as to why I didn’t receive the suspension email.
But the bottom line is that I was banned for a legitimate reason. Although the Terms of Service used to state that trading, giving, or selling an account was okay as long as you had the CD’s to prove you owned it. But the TOS was changed because of gold farmers and power levelers who profit from selling accounts. This fucks Blizzard out of money that is rightfully theirs.

But seriously, two people coming to this forum to point out that there are some exceptions to every stereotype isn't going to disprove whatever reasoning the previous posters have. Neither will trolling our forums, as you so gently put it. Yes, this is a joke thread with joke posts, no most people here don't believe every gamer is a Harvey Pekar lookalike that lives off mountain dew and hot pockets. The only reason such stereotypes exist is because a sweaty virgin is much funner to joke about than a square jawed Adonis. That's it, there's no more to it than that. It seems that they honestly believe this and you know what it's wrong on multiple levels, including the level in which they hurt themselves by listening to streotypes and not actually getting out there to experience that the streotype is wrong, and as for a few exceptions, most if not all stereotypes are just wrong because they tend to be based off a select group measure and not the group as a whole, and you know that is what I have a problem with!

im glad to have found this thread to be honest, cause i know that stereotypes exist for a reason, theres no denying that, and im not stupid lol. but also, the demographic of the gamer population IS CHANGING!! this is the twenty first century people, and you need to understand that. the fat gamer joke was funny back in the 90's but the vast majority of all gamers these days do not fit that stereotype any more. take a look around a gamestop the next time your in there... look at the people around you and behind the counter. i expect you to find that the majority of them will not fit this stereotype. i sell video games for a living, i see the people that come in to my store, the people i talk to and help every day, and i would say that only about 10% of them fit the "fat, ugly" bit. is actually amazed at how hot some of the people are, both male and female. XD
