Hey guys,

In pretty new here and just started using mq less than a month ago. Would you all recommend i use an input for a warrior or plat him as he is the tank? Thanks!

i think you mean something like "which automation should i use for a tanking warrior"?

there are a lot of options
kissassist
rgmercs
mq2war

you should try all sorts of stuff and see what you like

You can do either, personal preference. Since you're just starting out, my suggestion would be to play him manually and have a 2nd toon that is automated so you can get a feel for MQ, its settings and, like Sic said, you can test out different automation options.

I started out with kissassist, but you have to update an .ini file with spells, abilities/AAs and such, so it can be a bit overwhelming with the initial learning curve. The CWTN plugins (Sic linked mq2war for the warrior class) simplify that significantly to the point that you basically have a start/stop button with in-game checkbox options for that particular class. Those CWTN plugins are $30 per class for an entire year, but well worth it imo, or they are free to try on the Test server.

A second question buried in there may be ‘who do you manually play?’ Vs automation.

Most drive from tanks but you can drive from anyone.

I personally drive from the tank because I can hit my “oh crap” buttons if invis fails or I have a momentary lapse and screw something up.

Even then, I still use some automation and use mq2plugin - just leave them on manual.

Test them all out and you do you!

I would say either Rgmerc (included in the Lua section with Level 2) or MQ2War. I have MQ2War and love it. Kissassist is what I started with but it has alot of upkeep to it and I think RGmercs/CWTN plugins outshine it. Its overall going to be a personal decision.

Thanks! I know how to play manually but never did the auto stuff before. Just looking to be more self sufficient as I go along is all.

Currently i have a sham/berz and am bringing in the warrior because driving with a berz sucks with the whole blindness stuff. If I can get decent I'll probably add a bard but who knows I am pretty slow. 🤣

Thanks for the advice!

RGMercs is very easy. I followed this guide from the forums and was up and running on Test in less than 30 minutes with a fully automated group.

I had previously used kissassist, which took a lot of time to configure. RGMercs does a great deal of the configuring for you automatically.

Mercs is great but just a note on this CWTN plugs are free on test! Should give them a whirl too and compare!
