Tip - Seeking the Sorcerer - Success!

Do not mez the adds. Don't even bother touching them. Take 1 character and pick up the ground spawn that pops during the fight. This gives you a single charge item that casts an aura that pulls all the adds into it. It's a free-target spell, so you can drop it anywhere you like, just make sure to drop it far enough away from your group. You don't need roots or mez to do this fight.

Exactly what I do. I pause my wizzie then pick up the item, do free target ring and unpause him. Once I figured that out it came from being frustratingly hard to ridiculously easy.

Rangers get knock back root/snare, but as others have said, it’s not necessary. Just use tue clicky in the event to cc adds

The problem is there are already 2 adds destroying my group before the first groundspawn ever arrives.

BigDaddys strat worked flawlessly with my Shammy just booting them away so its a really a moot point anyway.

I just found today that my group DPS and HP has risen enough that I can safely ignore the single add I get. So that's something to look forward to as your character's power increases.

Well, my guys will never get raid geared. Im going to try to get them all T3 ToV but cant go beyond that. lol

Regardless, your strat worked like a dream bro, with my Shammy its truly a trivial task now, so thank you for that!

So I have only noticed that the ground spawn happens right as the second named dies.

Do these adds not have aggro lists or something? What I'm struggling with right now is that my SK cannot get these adds to peel off of anything, and it's frequently the mage (which I am controlling to pick up the ground spawns) which gets gibbed while im trying to place the target ring

You can’t get aggro on the adds. It’s a mission mechanic. They auto stick to whoever got emoted - spit on by the namer. Either punt them away or hope your healer keeps everyone alive until you finish the big boy

So a BRDs "Wave of Sleep" song is 100% guaronteed to mez all the adds then? Another poster said the mez is hit an miss.

Sum1 do RNG also get some kind of knockback root like the SHM does too?
Bards mezz is hit or miss

So I thought I would try this for the first time today...just zerging it with SK Ranger Wiz Mage Enchanter and Cleric. Did not go well...actually did not go well, over and over...and over sigh. I changed out the Mage for Zerker...still did not go well. Decided to dump the chanter and add a monk...still...not...going well.

Did they change this to make it harder? These toons are all max aa and in T3 gear with Ice Encrusted weapons, using MQ2 Monk and Zerker...Ive got the ranger tuned up like a motherfkr and he is dpsing like the wizard...

Start the burns on 1st mob engage and the burns are still running at second mob-trying to just ignore the little shit add but for some reason it doesnt turn out good. I tried punting the add with my ranger etc and that works for a bit but the rangers lack of dps on the boss seems to make a big diff..

Can someone here that can zerg this event, ignoring all mechanics including mezzing try this and see if they changed it? Or do I need to re add the enchanter sigh...

Just did this today and didnt see any nerf to it. Are you using the macro someone posted earlier that automatically picks up the slime lump for you? I will say, having a shammy to be able to boot the first fleshling is awesome but after that, I let the macro auto pickup the slime and click as soon as I have it. Once the slimes start spawning, if you have OK dps, which Im guessing you do, you will never get another fleshling in your mix. The only "anomaly" is it seems if my DPS is not fast enough the witch will come up, she doesnt get moved by the slime so having the shammy able to boot her as well is priceless. Between my shammy and the slime pickup macro this is basically trivial for my group and they are nothing amazing, same deal T3 group gear max AA.

It really just comes down to dealing with the click mechanism. F that up you wipe unless you are above and beyond with real group not boxes.

I regularly get this down with a T3 geared tank and T1 geared rest of the group.

Just out of curiosity, what kind of DPS numbers are you seeing? Your group should be able to do this without issue, no problem. If you're not doing the groundspawn click, that should make this trivial for you.

I am also having trouble with this damn event. I do have a shaman, but I have not tried punting the adds yet. My DPS is just ok, and it seems like I wipe every time at the 3rd boss.

A couple of things I’ve picked up on while researching this, but I haven’t tried:

1. I read somewhere that you can go kill the witch before the event even starts. This would help me out a ton and I’m going to try it this afternoon.
2. I normally manually play my warrior, and I could not figure out how I wasn’t able to hold aggro on the little slimes. I’ve read somewhere else that they are aggro locked. Also, seems like enchanter mezz is hit or miss, so shaman punt could be what I’m missing
3. For the click, I hit /mqp on, then @jande ’s? hot key, and finally set the clickie target area and /mqp on
4. On transitions between bosses you really have to be on your toes as one of your toons can get murdered pretty fast.

Let me know if you guys know any other tricks. I’ve thought about manually playing my enchanted for the adds also.

I use the shammy punt to boot the first fleshling because there is no slime ground spawn yet but once the slime starts spawning I can keep them all away from the group for the rest of the fight. The only time I have to use his punt again, is if the witch shows up. This is the macro I use to auto pickup the slime, I have a couple /autoinv in there because it seems to get stuck on the cursor sometimes for some reason. Then I have a hotbutton linking it from my bag to just click it.

INI:

@batweed66 where are you setting up to fight everyone? I just tried this mission again, while focusing on my SHM, and it seemed like his SR wasn’t working? on the slimes. I’m sure I need to give it another try, but the initial trial run went poorly. Not sure what I’m doing wrong, but it seems like I’ll lose a group member in half a second whenever those damn slimes get on them.

Maybe I just need more dps?? I feel like I should be able to do this mission, as I have an enchanter/shaman.

I do this mission all the time and never see the witch. Burn, burn, burn, pickup ground spawns, click it off to the side somewhere. Do that maybe 2-3 times and then the event should be dead. If you’re seeing the witch you’re taking too long. Take a look at your kissassist.inis or something to optimize burns/dps.

From my own struggles with this, the Shammy with constant clicks on the slime are the key even with low DPS. If you can keep the Fleshlings away from your group you will win from what I have seen. I bunch all my guys up at the entrance and I ignore all emotes. I have Cleric running KA and Im playing the shammy manually but WITH the auto pickup mac running so he just grabs the slimes when they appear.

Be ready for that first Fleshling to appear cuz it seems random who he runs after. Boot him quickly with the shammy, I have noticed that sometimes his VP wont work but his SR seems to work every time.

If you can keep that first Fleshling from killing anybody it will be all downhill from there because there will be enough ground spawn slimes for the shammy to just keep the Fleshlings away even on a long fight. The only other "tricky" bit is if the witch comes up you will need to the shammy to boo her too because the slime doesnt work on her.

100% with your group make-up you can do it. I failed 100 times until BigDaddy told me the shammy trick earlier in this thread.

@Sum1 What hot key do you use to burn constantly? I've been using /burn with KA, but it doesn't seem to want to work sometimes

This is how I do it and it works 90% of the time. The biggest problem is that I have to use someone other than my shaman, because even in the downtime it takes me to pause the macro, pick up the lichen, click it, and drop it somewhere, the add frequently pops up behind one of my toons and downs them. So for me it's mostly been based on luck and hoping that the add isn't targeted to a cloth wearer. I use MQ2Bst so maybe ill look into that macro posted above to auto pick up the ground spawn

Yes! This is what keeps happening to me. Almost every time I pause to pick up the lichen, one of those slimes murders someone. Maybe I just need to be faster? Or able to attempt this in a different spot? Right now I’m trying to set up at the zone in.

If it helps, I'm 115 and max AAs on most of my toons.. T3 on tank and T1 on everyone else (SK/Zerk/BST/Bard/Mag/Shaman) and I can only do this if I drop the mage and swap in a cleric. Otherwise I haven't found a way to win yet. Gonna try the pick-up macro later today though and see if that speeds it up and allows me to drop the cleric and sub the mage back in

That being said, using Virulent Paralysis on the first add to pop up is an absolute god-send. Once I did that it alleviated most of the pressure. Which allows me to just focus on the clicks

I imagine that if you have any toons that are using MQ2Bst or MQ2Zerk or any plugin like that, you can just make this snippet its own independent macro and let it run while your toon beats the mob down

Im sorry, just save that as "slime.mac" or whatever you want to call it and run it on the toon you want to click the slimes. So in game it would be "/mac slime" on that toon.

I also make a hotkey for the slime itself in my bag like this:

slime.jpg

Like formoro said there can be a bit of luck involved always. If the shammy misses that first punt on the Fleshling and he makes a bee line for the cleric and wipes him then its basically game over. But, in my struggles with this I have seen every time, if I can boot that first Fleshling off I will always have enough slimes to just keep them away for even a long slow fight. I sit there with my guys in a clump spam healing on the shammy to backup the cleric and clicking slimes. The only other toon I am looking at is my WAR to manually change targets so he doesnt try to go after a Fleshling (which he does with KA)

The only other "luck" piece that has happened to me a couple times is the slime spawning like 300 feet away in the outer room. This is VERY rare, it almost always spawns around the mobs feet but this has happened to me a couple times so I have to run out, get it and then come back and click in time to avoid the next Fleshling.

You could always edit the KA settings for that specific zone and list the adds as a mob for your tank to ignore!

Edit: unless that only applies to pull settings. I could be wrong and have no idea what I'm talking about

I wipe to this every time...10x a day. I havent tried the macro yet... Ive got super solid toons... Ive run this with zerk, monk, ranger, wizard, sk, cleric...swapped out with chanter, mage...tried punting...those fleshlings just seem at some point to warp onto either the tank or cleric and its just a rezfest.

I zone in, and stay there. By the way...where do the corpses go?

I guess the most important q is how long does the click last before you need to click another?

If I went in with 2 zerks, 2 monks, a bard and sk could i own this with no healer? :)

My group of 115's have max AA, 8/8 visible t1 armor, t1 weapons, and RoS/EoK gear. (Yea, I'm slow to gear up!). Easiest way to do this is to just follow the mechanics. There is no need to try cheesing it.
  • Pick up the ground spawn
  • When the adds come out, right click the ground spawn you picked up and "drop" it far away from your group
  • If your group has CC (knockback + roots are amazing) then this fight is even easier
  • Stop trying to pewpew hard and just do the simple mechanic
The macro definitely helps but for sure is not needed.

I don't bother with the ground spawn mechanic at all. As previously mentioned, I punt the add using shaman AA Virulent Paralysis. (Lately I don't even bother doing that unless I get 3 adds because the event is over so quickly.)

This assumes you have all burns and discs ready at the beginning of the event.

Set your group up behind the 2nd mob to completely eliminate the need to pull the 2nd and 3rd spawns. Start the event and pull the Toe mob to where your group is standing.

Burn right from the beginning. Melt the first one, continue burning on the 2nd one that's standing right there. You should still be burning when the 3rd mob spawns and that's when you might get an add.

Punt the add if necessary but keep burning. The 3rd boss goes down really fast. If necessary switch to your punter and punt the adds but really you should rarely ever have more than 1 add.

The 3 bosses go active back-to-back so you really don't want to pause at all between them. That's how the event would lengthen out and you'd be overwhelmed with adds. I use a 2HS with a fire dmg proc on my SK for the entire fight so he is contributing good DPS. I use Leechcurse right away on the first mob so Mantle and Carapace are both available if needed. I mash it all on the SK early so I'm not losing anything later if/when I have to switch to the shaman for punting.

@surfdog21 im with you man, this mission sucks

Im going to try tomorrow it in a different vantage point

@B_I_G__D_A_D_D_Y how exactly do you burn that long? Are you continually hitting /burn? Do you set up the burn section in KA differently?

@B_I_G__D_A_D_D_Y how exactly do you burn that long? Are you continually hitting /burn? Do you set up the burn section in KA differently?

I use Conditions mostly. My Burn sections are set to automatically activate on all Named mobs but there's very little actually happening in the Burn section. My Mage and my Enchanter are doing the bulk of my group's DPS. The Mage ramps up really slow. The Enchanter doesn't hit Chromatic Haze until I have a lot of pets on the mobs and then my Mage fires his "Of Many" nuke and my SK fires Harm Touch. Meanwhile all my characters have some sort of swarm pets and these pets last a long time. Also by the time the 2nd boss is active my Bard has twisted 7 or 8 mostly ADPS songs further enhancing the Mage and Enchanter. I haven't posted my INI files in probably a year and I should do that soon.

Edit to add my Chanter INI file...

It is 100% doable with your crew my friend. SK, CLR, MNK, BER, RNG, WIZ can definately do it. Sum1 said the ranger can use his Blusterbolt just like the shammy does. Once you have booted that 1st Fleshling you should basicaly be safe for the rest of the fight just clicking the slimes. BigDaddy says he only uses shammy knockback and doesnt even do slimes but I prefer the slimes because they are 100% effective no fail and you can send them far away. Regardless, you absolutely can do it. If my crew can (WAR, CLR, MNK, SHM, BRD, BER) you can

I do this with SK, CLR, ENC, WIZ, BER, RNG every day. I never see the icy witch. Just watch for the groundspawn on your map and have the closest toon pick it up and click away the adds. To help with this, I make sure alll my casters are separated a little to crest the space for me to see and pick up and click the item

The adds don’t have a lot of health. I think the adds will appear before the ground spawn so killing off the first one might help prevent you from getting overwhelmed. Or just kill bosses fast and none will appear.
