this still working? leveled up a necro, and it will not do anything at all for me.. sucks because i went 1 to 67 from last night to today lol, with barely any play time really so I am missing quite a few spells

Be sure to open the trade window with the merchant before typing /scribe.

I've tested this on various levels of mage, wizard, cleric, sk, and bard, all the way through 1-90, works great. Kinda scary watching it buy all those spells at first and watching your plat plummet, but other than that.

yeah its working now, ive used it tons of times before, had the merchant open and everything.. but shes 70 now and it worked fine, but would not at all through 1-69 for some reason..

I used this a few days ago on a new level 50. However I did have on oddity. At the 1-25 merchant it bought stuff I already had in my book. I did notice that I had the merchant filter to show all instead of just show what I can use. On the next merchant I made sure the filter was on and it didn't double buy. Also, because it bought something I already knew it got stuck in a perma loop when my inventory filled up. It kept trying to scribe to make room and couldn't because it was already scribed. Then it would try to buy and be out of room and try to scribe, lather, rinse, repeat.

If the macro depends on that filter to not double buy then it should be mentioned in the instructions. If that was fluke, do with the info what you will.

WTS extra copy of Burning Arrow cheap. Merchant has poor return policy. =)

I haven't been able to duplicate that issue. It doesn't use the filter to check what you can/can't buy. It uses ${Me.Book[${SpellName}]}. I've used the macro on a couple of rangers a week or two ago and didn't have an issue with that particular spell either. Must be a fluke :(

i love it too back cant do a lvl range instead of all the spells form 1-100 would be cool if could be able to set a range like 73-76. i pl a lot on toons so a lot of spells arent needed

It does.

Rich (BB code):
/mac scribe 73 76

I'm crashing when i use this. no other mac has crashed me before. and i can say with some certainty that it is this mac crashing me, because i ./mac scribed and crashed immediately multiple times.

Did you open the vendor window before typing /mac scribe
Are you suing a custom UI?
Is your UI up to date ie fully patched?

Thanks i didnt know never saw it in the write up and never tried so thanks for the fast responce

A.) yes, vendor open to start
B.) Nope, Default UI
C.) N/A

it crashes after spells are purchased and it goes to mem spells in bags. also noticed this, first bag is a normal bag, second bag is an extraplanar trade satchel for trade skill items, third and all following bags are normal bags. it mems the spells in the first bag then crashes. think it has something to do with the extraplanar trade satchel. going to troubleshoot that and see if that's it, I'll update this post with the answer.

put your trade satchel in slot 10

did that still crashed. seems it crashes at the meming spells part. i've tried a varity of combos with the bags and all that still crashing.

been a while, is there a crash log or something i can post for ya might shed some light on it.

for me this is fine, all i really need it to do is buy the spells i need i can mem them myself with little enough work. but thought you guys should know about this since this is the first and only problem i've had with MQ2 since i've been back

Did you put the bag UI file (forget the name), in your EQ UI folder?

Do you have a spell in a top-level spot? That crashed it out for me. Had to be in a bag.

when you have open top tier inventory slots (ie no bag in the slot) it wont memorize the spell that is in that slot

Odd there is code to detect and work around that. Are you using the code from the first post?

I run it long enough to buy the spells I'm missing. Once it goes to scribe them into my book, it crashes EQ.

Scribe.mac has to be my most used macro. Outstanding work.

I PL'd a little chanter today to lvl 40 using bone chips. Grabbed the new version off the first post. Made a new scribe.mac.
Went to buy spells and when it came time to scribe spells in the book it sounded like a machine gun.
She would pick up a spell and put it back in inventory in less than one second. bam, bam, bam..... going through both packs full of spells in about 10 seconds without scribing a one!!

I added this little delay and it started scribing correctly.
May not be the correct way to get it working but it got me through 40 levels of spells on an enchanter.

Rich (BB code):
            /for Slot 1 to ${InvSlot[pack${Bag}].Item.Container}
                /if (${InvSlot[pack${Bag}].Item.Item[${Slot}].Type.Equal[Scroll]} && ${InvSlot[pack${Bag}].Item.Item[${Slot}].Spell.Level} <= ${Me.Level} && !${Me.Book[${InvSlot[pack${Bag}].Item.Item[${Slot}].Spell.Name}]}) {
		    /echo Scribing................. ${InvSlot[pack${Bag}].Item.Item[${Slot}].Spell.Name}
		    /nomodkey /ctrlkey /itemnotify in pack${Bag} ${Slot} rightmouseup
 ADDED ----------> /delay 1s
                   /delay 1s ${Cursor.ID}
                /if (${Cursor.ID}) /call doScribe
                }
            /next Slot

In the past it would get hung on spells in top level slots. You fixed it but it seems to be back. Didn't scribe a single spell from top level slots.
I'll test it again when I get some more levels.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll take another look.

Found the issue with the rapid fire pick up and drop, code updated. Tested with random top level inv slots open and it scribed spells from there also.

Looks like its not working with the new compile. All my bags open and close but nothing gets bought from the merchant or memed from my inventory.

Mine worked but it only memmed 1 song, then stopped. I ran it again and it me med 2 and quit. I did the last song manually for time.

Hmm I used this a few days ago and it worked on the 95 spell vendor in shards landing. I'm not sure if it matters but I right clicked the merchant AND I targeted the merchant.

At first I thought it was a fluke. I had to manually buy my level 95 bst spells and add them. However I then tried again on a different character in shards landing it would not buy or mem my 98 mage spells. I had the merchant targeted and the window open. To test further I purchased a few spells and ran the macro again it cycled all my bags but did not add any spells to my book. I verified the UI files are in the correct place and identical. I will try it when I get home with the old compile and report back.

Seems you have to not only target the spell merchant but also open the vendor window by right clicking. Never fails for me on spells and discs.

I did have the merchant clicked and the vendor window open. Are you running 20140411 or 20140404?

- - - Updated - - -

I tested with the 0404 compile scribe works. with the newer 0411 compile it does not work.

Is Scribe working properly now for everyone?

I used it only briefly and it was awesome, but for the last few compiles it has been broken for me.

I would target the vendor and open vendor window and then /mac scribe . It used to work great in POK library and Argath but not anymore.

Macro announces that it is buying spells, waits a bit then very quickly opens all bags and closes them and then exits.

Make sure you have downloaded the latest compile. There was a fix for it

what he said . Most current scribe is in your macro folder.
