RoS Talendor 12 Man boxed with 6 toons

Guide - RoS Talendor 12 Man boxed with 6 toons

Thank you for this great guide. I was able to 12 box this with 10 FTP toons and a RoS T2 geared warrior !

I'd like to give this a go with my 6 box setup, but I have some questions... @Dborgar , @alacalle

... like compare this shit to the End of Empire group mission. That thing sucked balls and was terrible to box. I'm assuming that since this is meant to be a 12 person mini-raid that Talendor will hit like a freaking truck and the AE's and still will generally be shitty. The viral portion seems particularly crappy.

What happens if you wipe? Does it completely reset? Is it really possible to burn your way through the viral dot portion? Can you med between phases without worrying too much about resets?

I'd be running it with SK, Cleric, Enc, Ranger, Zerker, and Wiz. The SK is beefy (RoS/EoK raid gear), but the rest are mostly RoS conflagrant with a mix of EoK chase gear and RoS group gear.

Talendar does hit hard, but I was doing it with just 1 healer before when I was invising past rancar.

If you wipe it restarts from beginning. No med breaks till you make it past Rancar phase, when the drakes are up you can stay back to med/recover.

I burn through that viral phase, Harm Touch thought leech all those big sk stuff. My only raid geared toon is the sk, rest are group gear with chase weapons.

I boxed this one a few times pretty easily as well. Tank is SK pretty much maxed out in every way (gear, AA, trophy, food, etc.). Rest of team is Rng/Wiz/Mag/Brd/Shm. The other chars are also RoS raid geared in terms of weapons / relevant foci for healing / dps / pet earring / etc., but I don’t bother with stat food / trophies for them.

Trick is as follows:

1) Use deflection for the Phara Dar / Talendor Phase I. Should be able to make Talendor run by the time deflection wears off. Finish off Phara Dar. Don’t use any burns if you can avoid it.
- Run to next spot using MQNav
2) DPS is still pretty important here. Drop a manaburn on Talendor and some basic burns. Key is to make sure he is running before oozes spawn.
3) Phase III is full burn mode. Harm Touch / Leech Curse / Thought Leech. Key is to avoid the emote.
- Run to next spot. Sometimes I invis past the rancors while other times I pull them to Talendor’s stopping point.
- Can’t get Rancors dead in time for Talendor, so usually I’m using discs and just tanking through 2 Rancor’s + Talendor. This will probably be impossible for those without raid gear.
4) Rest up if needed before drakes. Drop a campfire just in case. Careful, Rancor can respawn, place the campfire in a safe spot!
5) I pull all the drakes and tank them against the wall. Can survive tanking all 6 if a disc is up, but usually have 1-2 dead before all the others arrive.
- I recognize I could probably do a better job of just targeting the Talendor drake and killing that from the beginning, but I can be lazy!
6) Final phase is straitforward. Make sure your DPS isn’t terrible so you don’t get overwhelmed by oozes. Think you can mez them, although I usually just DPS through.

For comparison purposes: I used to box End of Empires in full conflagrant armor (some chase on tank) while I was working on my ROS Type 5 Augs. It was tough, and i was reliant on hasting/buffing the NPCs and hoping they didn’t throw my balance off too much. Now I just steamroll the whole event and have everything dead in 5-7 minutes.

I could never have done Talendor 6-man with the crew the way I used to be geared when I was struggling through End of Empires. I also don’t think my DPS was sufficient to burn through the various phases fast enough. In fact, when I was in group gear, I beat the event by teaming up with another 6-boxer and the two of us barely won (although we didn’t know the event at all at the time).

In summary: The event is definitely beatable with 6, although you’re going to need a beefy tank and have a high DPS team. In your case Dborgar, I’d be worried that your dps will fall just slightly short, but you may be able to make up for that by mezzing / membluring the oozes. Give it a dozen or so tries and see if you can get close.

I don't know what you mean, I posted the video of my 6 man team beating this. I don't ever get the oozes to spawn.

Sorry Dborgar, my comment was meant for Sum1. Was 1 post off.

Not sure if you are aware but flame deceiver 05 is the one to kill. Talendor is 05 in disguise every time. If you kill it then Talendor respawns and the others despawn. It would save you some time in doing this event.

Didn't realize it was the flame deceiver 05, knew it was the lvl 112 flame deceiver since all the others are lvl 111.

You guys know if the mobs in the mission give the same crappy faction hits at the regular VP mobs? I'm trying to keep somewhat non-kos on a few toons.

Thank you for this info, was unsure how to tell which flame deciever was the real one in the raid version and this nailed it.

@Dborgar or whoever , you stated you use a "clear" button and in your write up you state
" I would clear target and use this command"
my question is , what are the commands to "clear" the target?
and
do you use Kiss on all your toons? and kiss manual on your SK?
and what commands are in the "ALL nav" button
thanks

/bcg //switchnow This command I would use for when Talendar was moving between phases (pretty much after every phase, I would clear target and use this command) so that my toons didn't stay on his ass and try to kill him when he was immune (make sure you clear target before using this command),

Here is a video of me 6 boxing the RoS Talender 12 man mission. All the toons are running KissAssist besides the SK in which I'm playing manually.

For the SK I do not use a macro, I play him manually.

/bcg //nav id ${Me.ID} You will need a mesh made of the zone for this to work, but this is how I'm having all my other toons "follow" me.

@Dborgar
what is the clear button?
or are you saying "/bcg //switchnow" will clear the target and switch to another? for your other toons
and does that command effect your healer , healing your SK?
thanks

So on the SK I clear my target by hitting ESC on my keyboard, and then when I have NO target I send the command /bcg //Switchnow
This command only effects the DPS, healer still does his thing.

sweet, thanks

Is Talendor Fire immune/resistent?

Awesome video! A couple questions for you,

1. Are you toons all raid geared? (would group geared have any hope of doing this?)
2. Do you think WAR, CLR, SHM, BRD, ENC, MNK could do it?

That seems like a particularly survivable group... if the Monk had been a Druid I'd say it would be damn near impossible to kill you.

I followed his strat and did this with SK/BRD/CLR/RNG/BER/BST in all conflagrant gear and max AA. Some of the phases have a quick dps check, so definitely worth a shot to see where you spawn extra adds and such.

Yea, the few times I tried it I always blew my burn load on the two stupid dragons to start because I had burnallnamed=1 (or whatever it is) in my .ini. I need to go back, disable that, and then use the /burn command for the toons running kissassist.

In Phase 1. Can you just ignore Phar'Dar and concentrate all DPS on Talendor? If so, at % does he start moving to Phase 2? And what happens to Phar Dar ? De-pop?

Wow this one kicked my butt mostly a learning curve on my part.

Did it a few times and then got it down flawless to before the drakes, drakes were summoning me all over the place no idea why, look 3 wipes before I just somehow got them all killed (was not fun). Hopefully the next time will be better.

6 toons: sk clr shm zerkx3 (all maxed AA)

The drakes summon when they leash.... gotta go in to just at the top of the hill, hit deflection or whatever, and just kill the one mob you need to kill to progress the script. If you go too far down the hill you're gonna get smacked. Conversely, if you pussyfoot around and don't go in with some authority you're gonna get individual toons summoned and killed. It's pretty unforgiving.

Ragnar (or wahtever) die, Trak is killed near that spot until he moves again, then he continues down the tunnel. The tunnel takes a turn to the left coming out far end of the Ragnar room... and then it goes down and to the right a bit. When Trak paths through, a bunch of invis-breaking fling-inducing auras spawn along with 5 or 6 drakes. You need to kill one specific drake (same one every time... I *think* it's the 05 drake) and then the rest of the drakes despawn and the script continues. The issue is, if you rush and try to follow Trak down the hill you get FUCKED UP. If you wait on top and aren't ready to pull when the drakes path up, then you're gonna get FUCKED UP. It's a fine balance.
