So there is a issue with autologin/MQ crashing as soon as you launch.. but your saying you cant even launch it? if its 1, discord has devs in there working on it, if its 2, you are using the legacy launcher, not the new beta one right?

i re downloaded the one linked and it was a duplicate file from the one i used months ago, that the legacy one right?

Yeah, "new" beta one is manual install, so you if you did it, you would know.

for you and @JoeDeltona close all launcher stuff, sic (and others?) have posted registery place to check for junk leftover, I dont have the info with me, but there are a couple reg entries i think that can turn the launcher sideways. they might be listed earlier in this thread.

if anyone figures out how to fix the regular launcher tho please post the information

I'm having a new issue with the RG Launcher failing to open. When I open the launcher, I briefly see it open, and then it closes. It worked as of yesterday when I logged off. I've tried rebooting the computer, reinstalling RG launcher, turning off firewall. None of those steps fixed the problem. I've searched the forums and haven't found a solution. Any recommendations?

It looks like the Beta version worked for some folks until more testing can be done.

On the launcher, the Lua list used to have all the modules needing an update at the top of the list in red, but I see now some of the updated resources are mixed in with the other items, where I have to scroll to see them.

If you updated EQ, you will need to wait for MQ to be patched before you can run it again. I recommend only updating EQ when required. This was an optional patch they pushed.

For those with the failing to load issue. I was having an issue where when I opened the launcher, it would briefly display and then close. I whitelisted it, turned off anti-virus, reinstalled, nothing worked. I didn't "solve" the problem but I found a solution. I uninstalled the launcher for my C drive and just installed it on a different drive. I made sure to create an "exception" or whitelisted it. Hopefully this doesn't happen again.

I downloaded patch 27/2 2024 now can no longer log in not thru mq2 or manually thru everquest. I am not getting any error messages at all. In mq2 makes it to Laurions Song screen and freezes and in Everquest goes to serverlogin and just closes window. I have had some small problems of boating odd toon once in awhile. Even toons freezing in battle but not often. But as of now can not play even manually. It is not firewall or anything like that as was working until last patch.

This sounds like AV might be stopping RG from loading. I would make sure you whitelist your RG/MQ directory and check to see if your AV quarantined any files.

Try rebooting your computer. It may or may not work. It usually it what I have to do to resolve sync issues.

No the date will be converted to whatever you have your pc using. So unless your pc is manually set to some timezone in the US then it wont.

Also, try closing the launcher and reopening it.

Live also rebuilt right after that latest install says so just to double check you did build again?

Please stop reposting (in the wrong location). The RedGuides launcher stuff should be posted in the RedGuides launcher thread.

You likely have antivirus holding files hostage as indicated by access being denied.

I would like to have the lists showing the watched macros and luas to be sortable or sorted alphabetically.
Sometimes I don’t remember the commands of one of the tools I am using.
The functionallity to be able to simply click on the Lua/macro and have its site here at RG opened automatically is very useful for me.
The amount of useful tools available here is growing, so do the lists at my RG launcher.
Having the lists sorted alphabetically, or beeing able to sort them alphabetically with a click for me would feel like a qol-improvement.

Or is this maybe already possible and I am too dumb to see how?

Addendum: if implementing this feature needs too much coding, a possibility to increase the vertical size to the full dimension of the screen would already be helpful for me, to find the tool I am looking for.

It causes difficulties, since I used to clicking to ENC when ENC is needed, in window 2, and if another oon is there, I can react slower. for the music issue, I just lock my eqclient.ini as read only on the boxes after getting all the settings where i want.
make sure you only edit the eqclient.ini with one character logged in if more than one share the same install path.
then make sure you /camp to char select and back your way out.
i notice /camp desktop sometimes doesn't save changes to the ini.

you are posting in the redguide's launcher, but you are talking about the MacroQuest autologin, which is not the redguide's launcher

you can also put a nosound.txt file (with no contents) in your everquest directory and it will disable (not even load) sounds

Cant get past it all myself, and its very frustrating. I have tried deleting everything relevant to RG and eveing MQ in appdata, uninstalling and reinstalling the RG launcher, AV software is off, UAC controls set all the way down. Anything else to try? Opens to dos screen and closes immediately.

Not sure if Windows allows this anymore, but small (famous last words) QoL request: can the launcher relaunch itself after updating? I'm also aware this happens once in a blue moon so definitely not a priority either.
