that would imply they test on beta though. We all know that dont happen. It seems to me that nowadays the Beta client is the only place actual testing occurs.

only time will tell.So live will take longer after update or not supported at all?
please read over this threadIs there going to be a refund on plugin renewals, I dont play on emu.
no, no, and no, and noIs EQ legends considered an EMU server? Will there be continued support for EQ Legends and plugin support for there? There is for P99 right? That's where the devs are coming from?
sorry to hear that - it is a pretty reasonsable expectation that it might be taking some extra days - we've not had a live patch for just as long in the past.so I guess MQ for live is dead since it hasn't been updated this week. Will go ahead and cancel my sub
Ehh, I have been involved in the testing on Beta, so at least some testing occurs. Whether DB pays attention and fixes all of the bugs found? That I definitely feel does not always happenthat would imply they test on beta though. We all know that dont happen.

There are a number of posts that say it is being worked on and might (will) take a bit longer than in the past. New team of folks trying their best to make it happen.so I guess MQ for live is dead since it hasn't been updated this week. Will go ahead and cancel my sub
Test is basically just another special ruleset server like any other except the special ruleset is it gets less support and is free gold status. It's really not used for testing in the way you may be thinking.i never asked "what people are doing in Test", but why you should upgrade Test? its the preparation of Live?
Given the title of this thread even if we get an update this patch we will get limited updates in the future. Are people really using VV on EMU's? I thought the EMU crowd was focused on true box classic servers like P99 / Quarm and that other EMU servers tended to have very low populations while everyone on live seems to be boxingsorry to hear that - it is a pretty reasonsable expectation that it might be taking some extra days - we've not had a live patch for just as long in the past.
but hopefully if you change your mind we'll still be here
be well
nah - emu has a vibrant and thriving mq friendly communityGiven the title of this thread even if we get an update this patch we will get limited updates in the future. At one time EMU may have only been as you said, and those older ones like P99 made a niche for players that enjoy the only older content or TLP style. They as we know also had a nod from DBG. But many people pushed forward and fleshed out expansion by expansion to what we have now which is Dragons of Norrath. This will not stop, its simply as it stands right now, and we have a lot of uncharted things, but to get to ToV is very possible, to even get to ToB is not an impossible thing. The new shift from the MQ team from Live to EMU will provide things EMU never had before, but same as with the new Live MQ team.. they need time. All of this just happened what 2 weeks or so ago? Live will do their thing and once they do, we may see a normal patching as we became accustomed to, EMU team will bring a LOT of goodness. Also, don't think of EMU as only MMO type servers to jump onto, its ALSO a personal EMU and with MQ you can play the game as a 6/12/whatever number man team/raid. Its up to you. Many people say 'its only to DoN though..I don;t wanna play that' I did say it.. but then I tried, and it was still EQ. I really enjoyed it and did things I DO not do on Live, like realize how LDoN was still nice and very viable. Not having Defiant was actually good to give me accomplishment. That said.. its YOUR EQ, if you want defiant, its up to you to allow it. And before you know it.. the potential..past DoN will be a reality in the way many hope.Given the title of this thread even if we get an update this patch we will get limited updates in the future. Similar to just reading a headline, thread titles often don't tell the full story. Browse the forums a bit, there a few threads that will get you caught up.Given the title of this thread even if we get an update this patch we will get limited updates in the future. Pretty sure they don't listen to them either. It seems to me that nowadays the Beta client is the only place actual testing occurs.
It's a rabbit hole that will require a little effort from you to get going. You can not bring your existing EQ characters to an Emu server.ok what is a emu sever how to we get there can we bring current toons we made in everquest..

I use VV on Emus, several different ones. There are a lot of people who seem to use a kind of MQ spinoff called E3 but I prefer VV. There are bots on emulator too (a bit like Mercs) which are pretty good. But they don't even come close to the control MQ gives. I am a big fan of KissAssist. I've used it on Live and most Emus. I wouldn't play without MQ tbh.Given the title of this thread even if we get an update this patch we will get limited updates in the future. Are people really using VV on EMU's? You can find an EQemu server but not importing you're toon but you could make a copy paste of a toon with a bit help and if the server allows itok what is a emu sever how to we get there can we bring current toons we made in everquest..

Thats a great question CBD, and even a bit two-fold as the EMU MQ team has their own focus, and RG will support and build on it but have their own focus as well. What exactly is the focus on emu? Like building a server or getting the server up to live? Does anything change that breaks mq on emu?
My understanding is that means growing MQ features and enjoying the fruits of that labor instead of playing cat/mouse/tug-o-war "patch for live" for x days/monthWhat exactly is the focus on emu? Like building a server or getting the server up to live? Does anything change that breaks mq on emu?
ok that didn't answer my question.. let me dumb it down .. is emu everquest ( like current expansion or only to a sertain expansion..Request - Thread 'MQ-friendly EMU server list'

EQ Emulator Server List
- Meets Redbot's guidelines (MQ-friendly, box-limits, afk, social content (intended or designed for more than one person, teaming up is a goal). No active hacks (e.g, warp).
- Project Lazarus - OoW with heavy custom endgame content. 6-box. Raids tuned for 4-6 groups at release. Active Development.
- EQ Might - DoN+ with heavy custom content... solo, duo, and group progression paths. 12-box limit, but 1-6 accounts are...

ya i noticed that too.. just never was interested in playing anything but eq and was curious if it was new content or not.. i was just hoping is allRead it a bit closer.
Yes it is everquest but if you look at each server description it mostly states what expansions its up to. None of them are up to current expansion as far I can find just to RoF.
EMU is just the short name of an emulated server. It replaces the official servers and is hosted privately outside of dbg. They are usually many expansions behind and sometimes have special rules. You cannot transfer your existing characters to them in anyway. Hope that helps.ok for thoughs who were wondering them selfs.. after reading that
thanks for the link.. but you could of just said no ..
So this is going to be legit without litigation from DBG like the 3.5 million dollar lawsuit against the other emu server? My understanding is that means growing MQ features and enjoying the fruits of that labor instead of playing cat/mouse/tug-o-war "patch for live" for x days/month
its a rennaissance over here bro and i'm super happy to watch these guys having fun doing cool shit (like solving major emu crash bugs that have plagued players for years, or help work on a back end for possible new login server/account systems, or getting ingame with an emu server on a more modern client than RoF2
because its not uncommon for stuff to change between when the patch goes on test and live. That the whole idea of the test server getting the patch 1st. that way any bugs can be worked out. So its very possible that by the time the patch goes to the live server there been several changes.? what is the difference between test and live.. why can you just send it if you got it working ?
