Question - Recommendations for LUAs or plugins for mission achievements?

Hey folks, I am looking for recommendations for plugins or Lua's to help me get mission acheevs for missions ranging from ToV to current, mainly with being focused on the ToB ones for now. I was able to pull off Hazuri without using anything other then RGMercs :) I did find a couple of great luas for the LS missions to get me through those. Ideally, I would want something that works with RGmercs, but I am really open to all suggestions, I would just prefer not having to pay $50 per toon for CWTN. The only thing I don't like about these achievements is that no one really seems to do them anymore in groups, which is understandable, since once they're done, they're done, and the loot from those missions isn't really needed or desired these days.

the cwtn class plugins aren't $50 just fwiw, nor are they needed, there are a lot of different automations, rgmercs, kissassist, modbot, muleassist, etc

you also don't need scripts to get mission achievements, you could actually do almost all of them without even any mq2events/LEMs

just going in and wtfsploding the boss will, in most cases, get you the majority of the achieves.

then it is a matter of looking at it and making adjustments to go and do it again.

you seem to be hung up on some of the "just start this and it will go play the game for me" mission scripts - those aren't necessary, in fact, i'd argue the heavy reliance on things like that means you're less likely to be able to do things yourself.

don't be afraid of messing up / failing - that's part of the fun.

I'm not sure there are any achievements that haven't had LEMs / minor scripts shared that are completely automation agnostic - meaning it doesn't matter if they're bumps on a log, running cwtn, or kissassist, etc

get started with !Lem - some folks still use !mq2events but LEM offers a lot that events doesn't. Do not listen to anyone who tells you to use mq2react

Thank you for the feedback. I'm not too hung up on the "click here and sit back" thing, morso just curious as to what others here use to see what I might be missing in my own efforts. Ironically enough, I was just watching one of your videos on the ToB priest mission and was going to give it a try. Definitely not afraid to try and fail, been doing that plenty :)

And you're absolutely right about CWTN, I was getting it mixed up with something else.

Most people will run it with a driver and everyone else just following behind. This is how I did things. I enjoyed the challenge and liked learning the events. There are some missions that are just a pain to complete without a Lua even if you know how the mechanics work. LS Heroes Are Forged is one I couldn't manage with my crew until I used the Lua and gained 5 levels due to all the different moving parts. Some of the missions/achievements are a "One and Done" for me. For instance, I will never go back and do NOS Mean Streets: Cut Off The Head achievement because of how absolutely annoying that one is to complete. Evolving item progression is fun and all, but nah.

Cut of the Head is much simpler w/ a Mage as your driver. CoH to clear aggro does wonders. Heroes are Forged - this one will make me learn to use the Lua in order to beat consistantly (nothing like your tank getting the emote right out of the gate).

Ya i ended up doing the ranger death warps to keep the adds in the entrance tunnel.

Sounds like this one will take a bit of doing once I get to it. We used to call that Ranger FD back in the day >< I embraced it fully, and would say to my groups: "Why fake it?"
The real reason it works is because of the long lasting aa snare and how the entrance tunnel is shaped and how far away they end up being so they don't re-aggro. There is a video on Youtube that explains it better. Anyway. Back on topic. Doing the missions and figuring them out was really one of the few things I enjoyed about the game. Running a successful mission myself was one of the few enjoyments I had in the game. I am sure other people that do similar things with Raids know that feeling. I never really wanted to go that deep into automation to be able to do raids.

I did the ach for mean streets as well.

As Sic mentioned, there are some good LEMs out there. One for the high priest mission works well to purge of corruption, but you still have to drive the rest of it.

The rest of the ToB and SoR are achievable without any automation, just practice, timing, and in the case of Echo - a lot of hotkeys.

You use hotkeys for Echo!? And here I am spam typing /cwtna pause on /dgga /nav door id 96 click /cwtna pause off like a madman

Building a solid group and having good control over it is it, since it really depends on how you are controlling your group.

I have written a few mission macros when EoK was the latest and greatest. Centered them around an enchanter, or some around an SK. But they worked best for "my" groups. And of course at the time with only one macro running at a time, it went through the mission the way I wanted to do it. There was a lot of pushback on automating too much, as some folks were just cycling missions 24/7 to level toons for RMT.

At the time I was working about 18 of my own toons and about 35 other toons through missions. It was really more of a "I want to see if I could do it" so I can could more more experience writing macros, to better maintain the bot macro I was helping update. Clearly with the Lua addition, there are more possibilities.

I would suggest if you have a lot of toons to work through you might try writing scripts for a mission or two for the practice. But honestly if you are just seeking achievements (one and done) then scripting would be more work and time then just "KILL EM ALL!" bulldozing them.

At the least though, if you run into a mission giving you issues, there are plenty of examples on trigger scripts that you can use to help set up or model new scripts after, or post your attempts and folks typically offer advice.
