Error I don't remember to have seen yet:
...

Running Overseer contemporary on 6 chars, one of them produced this error.
For me not a big deal, restarting overseer a second time, made it work "normal".
So low priority, but if you have an idea what might had caused it .....
I have noticed the odd error when something else is happening like I'm clicking around, automated battles, or what-not.

Were things sitting still, or possibly interaction by yourself or anything else?

I do the overseer always at login and wait until it has done it's magic.
On my pc, as long as overseer is running, the ui feels like it's is frozen.
As I can't do anything while overseer is running I don't even try and just wait, til it has run it's cycle.
Usually I log in and out in gl. I have a hotbutton at Buttonmaster with "/dgae /Lua run overseer", so it starts contemporary on all 6 chars. Could that cause this error?
If so I could add a random in order to not start all 6 chars at the very same moment, but spread out the starts to launch within a 10 seconds range or alike.

That shouldn't be the issue. I'll look around the specific spot you reported - may be something tight on timing or what-not

Are there new Overseer quests that just got put in? I think I got a popup about it and there is a quest i haven't seen before called "I Guess This is Growing Up" its a level 1, 3 hour quest. If it is a new set, can we get these quests added to the automatic completion list?

Go to setting under Add Specific Quests and add "I Guess This is Growing Up", move it to the top of the list and it will run on the next cycle.

Thank you, CB. I thought I'd checked this but will add it officially shortly.

I will mention that this is required because the current state of the data returned from MQ's Achievement API is not very accurate at all. I spent quite a lot of time (for this and other projects) to determine "Enumerate all achievements under Events>Overseer", for example, and perform this automatically.

I found no way to make sense of the data returned and use it in any viable fashion.

Hello Goldenfrog,

I've been using your Overseer and mission scripts for some time, greatly appreciate all the work. I was curious if you think it would be a good idea for Overseer to check if it's in a mission, or mission zone (shortname has _mission at the end) before kicking off a fresh cycle and delaying for 10 mins if it is?

There's been a lot of suggestions on how or when to pause this.

It's been tough to identify a true set of conditions that people would want. Personally, for me it survives most all actions except zoning during execution.

I can see a new configuration tab/section for "Don't run if...". "In a mission/raid zone" could be one and kinda easy to act upon.

But where it gets tricky is others like "If in combat" or "If running", etc... because most other conditions can change in a heartbeat.

Thanks, Rare. Can look at how something like that could easily be added in.

Is this the only Special Quest or are there more in a chain. I didn't recognize any subsequent - nor read any comments about.
I was wondering the same thing. I did the one manually and nothing has shown up since....status quo for DPG I suppose

All other "Special" showed up as chains in an Overseer>Events achievement - which we key off of.
This is the first (I can recall) being a single stand-alone.

We'll see. I have a minor update to add this as a one-off but didn't wanna push 'til we knew if there were more.

So, been having a weird issue. It will sometime just claim rewards for quests, then afterwards, just start one quest and stop, so it's sits at 1/5.

Are you seeing any messages in the MQ2 window on this? Any errors, notices - or does it go into "All complete, waiting Xh for next"?

I'm not at an EQ system but there is a "Maximum Quests To Run At Once" setting. I'll look it up when back, but skim Settings to make sure that isn't < 5.

No, it's very inconsistent when it happens, it just stops going through the available quests. If I chose 4 more quest on my own, the script continues, and automatically closed the Overseer window on it's own. If I manually stop and restart the script, it doesn't start more quests either, just acts like there isn't anything for it to do. Not getting any error messages, and I am not even getting the "all complete, waiting for xH for next". It just... seems to be hanging mid-script. This is all the output on the MQ2 window, and it only goes to continue after I manually select the quests.

Enjoying the UI, makes the setup easier.

Running into an issue where Collection Fragments will not be claimed. I have them set to first priority and the box on the Settings/General tab is checked.

The program stalls out after all quests are claimed and will not start new quests. I have to end the Lua, collect the fragments, then restart the Lua for five new quests to be initiated.

To clarify, the script is properly claiming the reward for fragments, but not actually clicking/collecting them?

It will go to the reward window, highlight the correct item, the Collection Fragment, and repeatedly try to actually claim it. It is stuck there, so I have to stop the Lua at that point to manually claim it, and the other Overseer rewards before starting back up again.

not sure if this has been asked yet, but is there a way to prioritize the quests? IE take all research and then fill the rest with others, and it also refuses to do conversion quests for me

Have you tried Settings --> Quests --> Advanced over simple? You can set your order of preferred quests types there.

For conversation, Settings --> General tab - make sure you do Not have ignore conversion quests checked and then setup the number of each agent level you want to keep

hmm, one of my accounts did a single quest, the other one didn't do anything now the one that did something decided its on vacation. Oh well no biggie the order was the important thing

@Psy was 100% on how to prioritize. Thanks for that.

@Valthonis, what did you mean by "didn't do anything". Was that just conversions?

There's one other tool you can use. I'm not on an EQ system but under "Actions" -> "Preview Quest Cycle" (I think it's called) will do a test run with your current settings and tell you exactly which quests and in which order they will run.

If you are playing and learning - this is by far the best way to experiment. Give that a try and you should see clearly what the system would do at that moment if you had run it for real at that moment.

Almost sounds like you may have input the quest type incorrectly as this happened to me when I did the same thing.

Make sure to input ALL of the ones you want with capitilazaiton and the proper " | " seperator. If you misspell or forget the |, it wont function properly. This section basically replaces the default setting from the simple section. If you input only one, you get only one quest, etc.

And you can't use the word ANY even though the description there lists it.

Dangit. "Any" USED to be a valid indicator. However I think you're correct and it was architected out at some point.

EDIT: "Any" isn't used any longer. Script start-up will convert "Any" to the full list of types "
Exploration|Diplomacy|Trade|Plunder|Military|Stealth|Research|Crafting|Harvesting"

oh its running the normal quests right, its just doing the conversion once
To clarify, it's not running the quests in the order you wanted but only doing an agent conversation once? Based upon your screenshot above, that might me sense since you only had one conversion to do with 3 common agents.

If that's not right and you still want a few eyes to look at it and help, please provide a bit more detail about the settings and expected behavior vs actual behavoir

I'm trying to setup the overseer macro (it's been awhile) but I'm not sure how to launch it. Last time I was playing (about a year ago) I had a command /mac overseer that would launch it. I tried that and I tried /mqoverseer and it's saying that is not a valid command. Is there documentation on how to set it up and launch it for the first time?

It's a Lua now so /Lua run overseer :)

Of course, after you watch the overview tab on the site and then install if via the launcher

Wrong forum
A few days ago Overseer Lua started repeatedly throwing the attached error on the same character. It ran fine previously and still runs fine on my other five characters.

I think I figured it out. Had Duration listed as a priority instead of Durations.
Well there's an unfortunate uncaught error situation. Good job catching.

I have a few small things added into a (hopefully sometime soon) bug-fix release. I'll look at adding that one.

1713770170414.png
noticed a new error:
no active quests before overseer ran, no activa quest after it stopped.

Went to General-Quests and activated all checkable boxes.
Rerun Overseer.
Worked again, 5 Quests active now.

Guess some days ago, when attempting to modify priority, I clicked a combination which the process doesn#t like.
For now solved, but would be nice, if you where not allowed, to click a combination which would break the process.

Currently the program seems to prioritize quest type over Rarity of the quests. Is there an easy way to set this currently? Would it complicate it too much to implement it like that? Or does the rarity not do much of a difference in terms of reward to matter?

The prioritization can be specified.

By default you can choose WHICH items to even factor in:
1714496627524.png

You can see which order it prioritizes above in gold. The default is: Levels|Durations|Rarities|Types

However, by changing to Advanced mode, you can change this. But note, it's possible to make a typo - we need some safety here.

At the top of the page, select 'Advanced'
1714496730809.png

Then you can type in the order you want in the same format as displayed: and click [Priorities]
1714496751065.png

It'll now display the new order in both this and the Simple view:

Also in the example description, Rarities is spelled Rarites. I made the mistake of misspelling it based off the example once.
