neophys submitted a new resource:

OutAssist.lua - Assisting on a mob outside of the group - Assist a character and help kill mobs without being in the group.

OutAssist will assist a character or group in killing mobs, while not being in the group.

There is likely another macro or plugin capable of doing this, but this was a fun exercise.

CWTN plugins:
Currently supports the use of CWTN plugins for BER and BST classes. It will set the AutoAssistAt, CampRadius and Mode, and will then use the Melee functionality based on what you have selected in the CWTN Window.

Other CWTN is not added as I dont have the plugins to test, but if naming...

Another script i made to have my additional accounts assist outside of the group, without using hunter/pullertank etc.

I set tag as Work in Progress because im still adding functionality and changing stuff.

If you like it, consider pressing the RedCent button. 👍

Please keep support requests for this to this discussion thread, this is not directly supported for or by cwtn or sic.

Works ok.

after a mob dies in the MQWindow it spams [NAV] Reached Destination at: (116.00 0.00 2.00) <--- probably just the loc of where i started the Lua

after the mob dies, in my main chat window, it spams (I don't see anyone by that name around here..."

Used a berserker run with the CWTN plugin.

When I had it assisting the main tank, i'm not sure if a mob that got pulled through my camp threw off the Lua but the berserker took off running to a mob and died lol.

If the tank has a DS, sometimes the mob gets to 99% early. OA toon will run off to wherever the mob is being pulled from and engage. Do an /oa assistat 97 or 98 and you should be good.

Not sure about the chat spam. I've never had that issue.

I have the assist set at 70 but he tries to run out and attack the mob at 100% before it even gets into camp.

I am currently running 2 and have assist at 80. Their feet aren't moving until then. Maybe 1 out of 25 kills they get the credit but it's all good so far.

If you do /oa assistat 98 or 97 does that change the plugin ? or just the Lua?

Ty for this!! Works perfekt when not assisting the puller tank 😉
Tested with Ber and Bst only mistake happens when I first assisted the puller tank like I do an all Toons.
After I assisted a DPS Class everything went smooth.

Hi, this is a great help, I've been using it with no problems with a CWTN zerker. Tonight tried with CWTN rogue. Seems to be ok but I get this:

Hi, this is a great help, I've been using it with no problems with a CWTN zerker. Tonight tried with CWTN rogue. Seems to be ok but I get this:
per the overview that is not something that this Lua supports, it just says zerker and bst

Works well with rogue, but when the assist toon dies and with CWTN plugin set to get corpse, it go to the corpse and starts to drag it back but then turns to attack the mob that the dead toon had on target. End up dying. I have to manually /oa active to turn OA off. it will then go drag the corpse back and then I do /oa active again to turn it back on. Is there a way to automate turning off attack of mob when doing a corpse run? just a thought

I searched everywhere and have not figured out my question.
I have a Necro using melee, is there a way to turn off melee?

Only autoattack is used, no specific skills for any classes, but I have added a way of using CWTN plugins if you own those.

Using CWTN plugins for special skills:
Currently supports the use of CWTN plugins for BER and BST classes. It will set the AutoAssistAt, CampRadius and Mode, and will then use the Melee functionality based on what you have selected in the CWTN Window.

Use of the CWTN plugins are only to allow special skills, and this functionality is not supported by SIC or CWTN.

I noticed on Bst that when the first mob dies, the Lua will not autoselect the next mob. With or without CWTN turned on. Only happens with Bst, works just fine going to next mob on rogue. Thanks.

very very usefull for me... THANKS !!!

and who doesnt known what i mean... just look into this Lua and think about what u got.

This is awesome!

The return to camp functionality doesn't seem to be working for me. I made sure it says "running" when I toggle it. Anyone else had this issue or have any idea what might be going on?

This is awesome, fixed a lot of issues I was having, MUCH LOVE.

So I wanted to use this script but it had some issues I decided to fix.
If the original author wants to post this as an update your are more than welcome to, No credit needed.

For everyone else here are my changes:

- Added status to help command - /oa help / ? / status - will all show the current script settings
- Added ReturnToStart and CWTN Status to the status screen so you know if they are currently active or not
- Added all CWTN Plugins to script. That means its not just Zerker and Bst anymore. Be advised it is set to Melee and do anything CWTN wants to do. Not sure how this will work with Rangers and such but its been added either way. Just may not autofire or maybe CTWN will override and let it autofire.. Have not tested. Also caster plugins are added but in my experience they seem to work pretty well on there own outside of a group. Either way they are in here so its your choice who all you want to use this with.
- Fixed the ReturnToStart function. /MQ2nav made some command changes and just needed an update to script
- Fixed the ReturnToStart nonstop spamming. Will now only ReturnToStart each pull. also added an echo to mq2 saying "Returning to camp" making it more obvious vs the nav to mob. This will allow your toon to mem spells and buff between pulls since its not always trying to run to camp
- Fixed Toons running off after mob with CWTN enabled. Turns out the script was not setting CWTN to Manual mode and was running after mob the instant a target was found no matter the assist setting. This will not change CWTN to Manual mode if CWTN is on and script will handle melee while CTWN handles everything else.
- Changed default assist to 98 - With the running off issue fixed there was no reason i see to keep at 70. You can of course change this if you want.
- Changed default CampRadius to 60 to more suite CWTN default camp radius

Special Note:
Script is set to snaproll behind 10 - This is not a change i made. Has always been there.
if you do not like that setting for some reason you can open the script and set to anything you like. It is only in there once so an easy search will find it.

How I run this script:
/lua run outassist ToonNameToAssist
/oa cwtn - use CWTN Plugin for everything but melee functions
/oa return - Return to camp on
/oa status - Make sure setting are correct

Hope this helps, and please give all credit to the original author. It is a great script and only needed a few changes to make everything work again.

please do not do this.

not only does manual mode have nothing to do with assistat, but now you're screwing people's settings and they don't know. please don't.

if you need to adjust someone's settings either a: set them back when done, or b: use the nosave option.

I can download the file, but when i try to open it, it asks what program i want to use to open. Any ideas?

Thankyou! got it in notepad, but now where do i put it? I tried making a folder caller outassist and saved the notepad to that folder but when i type /Lua run outassist, says cannot find outassist in the filesystem. Any ideas?

It should be in your VeryVanilla/Release/Lua directory.

Forgive me for being ignorant but I can't find a "release" folder in the very vanilla folder. I do have a Lua folder, and have tried to add the note pad there to no avail.

I'm not in front of my PC, but if you click the "Open MQ Folder" from the Redguides Launcher, I forget what directory it dumps you into, but the path should be something like ...\VeryVanilla\Release and in that folder you should have additional folders for config, macros, Lua etc. Copy the mission Lua into your Lua folder.

if you watch the overview page, it will be added to your RG launcher and you can get the rg launcher handle it

I was not adding it through the launcher, I was opening it where I saved vary vanilla. I will try this when I get home tonight. Thank you.

Thank you guys! after i used the launcher it was right there telling me to add it! i clicked it and still had an error. i made a folder to put the file in instead of just the file. Fixed that and it work great. Even have a warrior using it, if i close Lua rgmercs, i not only assist but my merc does to, for some reason he wont assist with rgmercs running.

If you're using the newer Lua-based RGMercs, it has this functionality built in by default and this is unnecessary. If you're using the old macro-based one, it will likely instead conflict and override this Lua entirely. CWTN plugs seem to be the only ones that work for all classes running this

Is it possible to to have a toon outside the group pull mobs to the group? And mez them or FD when it get there?

If you wanted to do that, you'd need to run some automation other than this Lua on your Out of Group puller, and then possibly this Lua on your group's MA to make them acquire the target, or use a tanking mode on your groups MT to acquire the target when it arrives in camp.
