mq releases mq, mq is open source , mmo makes their own build based on that , and does other things, and keeps it closed source.

rg builds mq too, and releases it too, rg also keeps it open source, except for the premium plugins, that are supplied by users and not rg.
 
Booted up RG for the first time since Oakwynd went relaxed truebox a few weeks ago. I'm getting punted to char select every few seconds which if memory serves was some sort of server validity check or protection?

Is there still no support for Oakwynd? The other dude's compile of it was back in action a few weeks ago so I guess I was anticipating RG would be too. Looking forward to some of the QoL stuff from RG whenever it's back functioning on Oakwynd.
 
since there has been a lot of hostility towards, RG, me, other folks who try and answer questions, and the MQ devs about oakwynd not going truebox.

And since i keep getting the dumbest PM's possible.

let me summarize:
- mq doesn't support truebox
- sometime after truebox is REMOVED it will be supported
- currently, dbg hasn't ACTUALLY removed the truebox code from Oakwynd
- sic, redbot, brainiac, knightly, dannuic, nor anyone else is "HoLdInG oAkWyNd hOsTaGe"

Here is a real simple explanation by brainiac:

Last time I did that was on a trader that I hadn't configured chat windows on yet. I started spamming the say chat to try and get rid of it after, LOL

I just installed MQ and started the game. My game now kicks to the character select screen every few minutes. Is there a setting or something to fix this?
 
The problem is I'm on a TLP not EMU, have 32 gb of ram, and only trying to make it work on one character.

MQ still doesn't work on Oakwynd, it has something to do with DBG not turning off truebox protection (and MQ devs not wanting to support MQ use on any server with truebox protection on). I would guess that it'll work once Oakwynd goes from relaxed truebox to no truebox.

Since Oakwynd went relaxed truebox in May and we are now halfway through November. Is it is not too much of a stretch to think MQ would work this far out? Oakwynd is in the stage where finding groups is getting difficult and more and more are going to look into boxing.

I did an extensive search before signing up and paying for level 2 and just found the vague, “it will work sometime after truebox is relaxed.”

There needs to be some information on which specific servers MQ works on readily available on the main page so other’s don’t make the same mistake and purchase access to something they cant use. This may also reduce some of the frequent questions about TLP servers.

this is correct, it will work automatically when dbg no longer says "this is a truebox server" just like other trueboxes that transitioned to non-truebox or relaxed

Policy - When does MQ work on servers that transition into "relaxed truebox" servers?

The MQ devs have stated that a server that transitions from Truebox into "Relaxed Truebox" would get support added "sometime" after they become relaxed truebox. There shouldn't be an expectation for it to be the same day, or necessarily even the same patch. MQ is not supported on Truebox...

Since more folks are making brand-new threads (without searching or making any attempt at finding the information), let me just re-post the same information.

Today is Monday December 23rd 2024 for folks who want to take the "date it went truebox" as a "that is the latest date there is information about/from" which is untrue.

As it is today Oakwynd is still flagged by DBG as "truebox" in their internal code


This is stickied and is the first search result using "oakwynd"

let me summarize:
- mq doesn't support truebox
- sometime after truebox is REMOVED it will be supported

The current compile of Very Vanilla is working on Oakwynd as of those changes. Whether or not it's officially supported, I can't say (last I checked the sticky still said unsupported for Oakwynd), but whatever flags/heartbeats/magic was being used to logout are no longer present as of Friday. Hopefully official support sneaks in relatively soon or is already there and the sticky update is a low priority.

All was needed was dbg to remove their truebox flag/checks and it automatically works. So yep.

I updated the sticky
