Guide - NOS "When One Door Closes" - Shadow Haven mission (1 Viewer)

- Quest starts in Ruins of Shadow Haven from Animist Khalan. Just say "small" to get the mission. REQUIRES Shadow Haven partisan quests completed as of 12/15/2022.

- Zone in, say the phrase to the npc to trigger the mission - the giant door turns into a blob that rushes to you. Kill it.

- This is not a DPS race. If you want to play it safe, just bring a second healer (merc healer will suffice).

- Blob transforms into a bunch of different forms. None of them do anything really scary except for...

-AVOID THE RED AURA! It spawns under a random player in your group (merc included). Just run to the other side of the room (can keep toons on chase which makes this easy).
At first, you may get hit by it and think no big deal, barely any damage. But there is some mechanic at play I don't fully understand, and what happens if you just plow through it, around 10%
the boss will mass spam emotes/abilities and instant wipe your party. All I know, once I started to avoid the aura, this "wipe" mechanic never happened again.

- Your toons (mainly healer) will get "knocked back" a bunch. Make sure they are positioned properly.

- Kill the swirling adds that come during the fight. They die pretty easily. If the boss is at like <15% or so, just burn him down instead.

- CURE the swirling adds in order to insta-kill them and get the achievement. I think just 2 casts of the cleric cure does the trick.

-...and then you just kinda win. Boss doesn't hit particularly hard. The only remotely scary parts are moving the boss out of the red aura when there is 1 add up, but that is pretty trivial.

- There is some other mechanic with invisible stuff which is mentioned in the achievement, I don't know.

Bottom line - This is a cakewalk and definitely the "shei" mission of NoS, except much easier. Good luck grinding those augs (and having the evolving cloak drop). Also, if your DPS is high enough, you might be able to just burn from the start and ignore all mechanics.

I've only done the mission twice, but I just burned it both times and stood in place. didn't see any mechanic except a stun right at start.

Though it sounds like the one achiev to kill an add might be the swirly guys you describe, I will try slow method next time.

So after I beat this mission I should be able to zone into Deepshade,correct? If so, how do I get past the big door? Im not seeing anything obvious to me. Thanks

I think my bst sat down as I started and got killed as I started. Still i could just battle res and run through without bothering with anything. One add that I killed after the boss. Thanks for the info on starting it!

Can confirm disco inferno works, aka burn.. couldn't move (a lot) , forms changed under 30 seconds..

For purely currency and farming with no focus on the achievements it's even easier than Shei or Zlandi.

Took less than 45 seconds from start tanking to mob dead.

I just learned today, you can cure the adds to instant-kill them and get the achieve.
Are the adds a timed thing? I've ran it a good number of times but have never seen adds or swirly things.

Adds are timed, so slow play it then have a toon Radiant cure them to get the achieve, you can offtank them until they can be cured and poof. You only need to do one to get Achv.

This is not correct, I just tried and still could not get it.
I don't know what is blocking you. But I finished first partisan quest after I wrote I went in at post #15. Still doing the second partisan quest with my box-team.
Maybe once you have done the hero, you get the flag to be able to repeat it any 5 ours. About 5 ours ago I could again trigger the task for my evening team, which have not even started to do any quest there.
Actually I am logging in my box-team for the next turn.

I've been getting the swirlie thing at 115 - 120s into the mission.

(Sadly I can't cure so have to kill it normally and no achievement).

Anyone know the name of said adds? I'm thinking this is LEM territory

What type of cure? I tried RC on 2 characters and nothing..

Also tried the SHM/DRU 116+ group cures...

What % does it need to be at?

You can get the poke cheevo by moving your group out of the swirly AoE. Taking the boss up onto the platform is just buggy.

single target cure with corruption counters. Corruption != curse

Not finding a Shaman spell that works for this.

You cannot cast Cure Corruption Rk. II on whirling debris.

Remove Greater Curse, Eradicate Curse, and Eradicate Poison were allowed to be cast, but even multiple of them had no apparent impact.

keep trying

You begin casting Cure Corruption Rk. II.
The swirling dust disappears. It appears to have been made entirely of corrupted magical power.

Looks like the adds come at 2 minute intervals from the start of the mission.
And they are invulnerable for approx 10-15 seconds after spawning, until they arrive at(?) the named.

Code:
[Mon Dec 19 07:00:15 2022] Animist Khalan says, 'I guess you do know! There was a monster pretending to be the door? How is that even possible? Well knowing that is nice, but you seem to have angered the thing...'
[Mon Dec 19 07:00:16 2022] Orbs of chaotic mana swirl around you.

[Mon Dec 19 07:02:16 2022] You cannot cast Cure Corruption Rk. II on whirling debris.

This worked perfectly! Just drug the crew out of the AE twice whilst burning and got the achieve, now I can just ignore this mechanic!

Finally decided to not burn and try for the achievement. This LEM worked for me on my shaman. Adjust as needed the class that is doing the curing.

[CODE lang="Lua" title="doorsham.Lua"]local mq = require('mq')
local function condition()
return mq.TLO.SpawnCount('whirling debris npc')() > 0
end
local function action()
local cure = mq.TLO.Spell('Cure Corruption').RankName()
mq.cmdf('/shm pause on')
if mq.TLO.Target.CleanName() ~= 'whirling debris' then
mq.cmd('/mqtar whirling debris npc')
mq.delay(50)
end
if mq.TLO.Me.SpellReady(cure)() and not mq.TLO.Me.Casting() then
mq.cmdf('/cast %s', cure)
mq.delay(1000+mq.TLO.Spell(cure).MyCastTime())
end
mq.cmdf('/shm pause off')
end
return {condfunc=condition, actionfunc=action}[/CODE]

Can you confirm exactly where on the platform? On the wood section or up on the tiled area?

I tried different places and it didn't matter where I was, still fail the no poke-me crap, lol.

What worked for me, in the end, was kind of easy. Made 2 buttons.

1) North button took me to the spawn point of the blob. This button did a Nav travel to my all toons to that spot, and I also did face away from the tank.
The tank waypoint needs to be always a couple of meters away from the main group waypoint so all your toons will always face away from the main tank, to avoid the stun.
You need to create 4 waypoints in the Nav tool UI. Make sure you go from North to South and have enough distance so the red lights do not hit you.
2-waypoints are for the tank only, and the other 2-waypoints are for the rest of the gang.

Just hit the buttons whenever you see the underground moving emote. Just go back and forth. I did this will full DPS, so it happens fast.
My buttons can be cleaned up more, but I did this fast because this event was making me mad, lol.
If you fail the event, just remove the group from the task and stop DPS, and try again till you get it.

North Button:
/nav wp NorthT
/dgzexecute /nav wp North
/multiline ; /dgzaexecute /timed 32 /face yourtankname away

South Button:
/nav wp SouthT
/dgzexecute /nav wp South

Thank you for the tip. I also tried up on top of the wood planks as well as on the tiles and could not get the achievement.
