Hey CWTN I think I know what he's trying to say. Normally you have your 1st hot key set with attack and the 2nd is for range attack. Then the rest of that first hotkey row has your kick, disarm, and things like that. When you run up to a mob and hit your attack key nothing happens. Your Range attack key works as well as your kick and stuff... but the attack key doesn't work until you either taunt the mob or kick it or something else. You can stand there all day and press the attack key and nothing but the combat music plays. This is what I think he is trying to say but correct me if I am wrong.

what you're talking about is a bug in our next build that is already been fixed, whenever next gets rebuilt.

it has to do with mobs being too slow getting on xtarget and attack getting shut off

So doing tantor raid last night with NextWar.... and it would not let me turn auto attack on with app running attacking tantorlings. Any mode, I had to pause app to attack them.

yes. as mentioned above your post.

tl;dr - its already been corrected.

unfortunately since next is currently building more frequently - sometimes stuff that we have pushed to build jumps the gun a bit, where normally live mq2 builds less frequently and helps us catch anything we didn't catch before we sent it upstream to "good to go build this".

The same issue exists with pets... I cant attack them without mashing autoattack button over and over and over again.

ok. well, like i said "already been corrected... it has to do with mobs being too slow getting on xtarget and attack getting shut off "

this would include pets (which is a mob), mobs (also a mob), mob's pets (a mob), pet's pets (mob), mob's pet's pets (mob), and any combination thereof. (this reminds me of a bug in eq2 where an sk pet would summon a pet and that pet's pet would summon a pet)

it does not include pc pet's - because we don't attack pc pets. I seem to remember you talking about pvp stuff, so if you're asking about pc pets and their owner is there - then we're going to continue turning that off.

so if you're currently using mqnext's current build, and you attack something with autoattack, you will turn off autoattack unless you have something on your xtarget window.

Another note... I have stick off... and it still looks up to the celing everytime i engage in a fight with stuff...
scroll your camera out with a mouse-wheel backwards.

you can't adjust the stick how in a tanking mode (or you can be in manual mode and you won't do any target acquisition or sticking)

Nav Looks in the direction of travel, if the next point in the nav waypoint is up, it looks up, if it's down, it looks down. The same with stick and UW. These are bots, they do bot things, looking up/down is part of how the bots work. Sorry that is inconvenient for you

well... if something inconveniences me I am going to ask to make sure it is not controllable. If it's not, then I will figure out how to deal with it. I am going to ask every question I can't find/dont know the answer to. I assumed it was something like that, but I am not going to sit around and be annoyed with something when their could be a potential answer I don't know about.

I honestly can't understand why you insist on acting like I'm saying don't ask a question somehow. You asked. I told you how it worked and that there wasn't something I could do about it. That's the answer, that's not me saying don't ask. So I don't understand all the extra follow up statement.

Might anyone shed light on why my 115 warrior is casting dissident shield (lvl 106) vs. composite shield (lvl 111)? - I have both scribed

you probably have a better dissident shield rank than your composite shield - all the progressive abilities are tier'd to use what's best

what is your composite shielding # and dissident shielding #?

turn your aoe count to something stupid like 20 for area taunt.

and if you don't want to use attention or other stuff that is used for burns, then turn off all burn usage - turn off burnallnamed, turn off burn always, don;t use burn always, and turn your burn count to something stupid like 20.

Alternatively, if you don't want to do tanking stuff, so you can do tanking stuff manually.

From the MQ2War FAQ:

Q. How do I make it not taunt?
A. You will use your tanking type stuff (including taunt) if you are in a tank mode (like 4, 5, 7, or 8), or you are assigned as Main Tank in your group window assignment. If you don't want to do tanking stuff (like taunt) put yourself in a non-tank mode (like 0 manual, 1 assist, etc) and don't be assigned as main tank in your group window. This will allow you to on-the-fly swap to doing tank stuff and non-tank stuff (like if you are off-tanking and need to swap with another tank). You can just quickly adjust your mode, or group assignment. Flow Chart > HERE <
I know this post is old, but I wanted to respond to it. I raid with my warrior and cleric so I have to use mq2war/mq2 in order to control my cleric with my tank when I am dual boxing in a raid setting. You may ask how do you not taunt and take aggro off of the MA when you are raiding, or how are you surviving using the plugin? I simply have a /war pause on, and a /war pause off button, During the raids, I definitely use /war pause on, and I manually play my tank using the Hotkeys and homemade macros so that I control the game experience and not wipe the raid. With MQ2 being on and my war being paused, I can send a hotkey telling my cleric, who is using mq2cleric, to heal me specifically, or I can use the mq2cleric GUI (/cler show) in the SETTINGS tab and select heal or buff XTargets options. You just have to make sure you got some tanks, CC, and healers in those XTargets, and MQ2cleri will take care of the rest. When you are done with raids and you want to relax, simply use the command /war pause off, and go back to the plugin handling yo business. Hope this helps. Personally, I think these plug ins are the best thing since sliced bread. Remember, nothing in this world is perfect, just perfect intentions.

I have a guildie that is building his own kissassist file. in that file he is adding off tanking ability, which basically means you set your tanks as "off tanks". When that happens, if 3 mobs are pulled, the "off tanks" engage tanks that are not with the main tank. Basically, tank mode, but only attack mobs that teh MA is not attacking, and only if on xtar. if nothing on xtar, then tank like normal. Is this a potential add we could get in the future?

we don't have plans on adding anything like this at this time, no

This may be a n00b question, and it may already have been covered (didn't see it), but I can't get my tank to auto pull consistently with MQ2 War. I have him set for Puller/Tank through MQ2, have the pull radius set (800 in this case), am using a ranged weapon to pull (throwing knives - range of 220), and have him set as tank/puller/MA through my EQ char screen. Once I'm ready to go I hit the Puller/Tank selection and he just sits there. I see mobs in the camp radius (ready to attack), but he won't do anything. Then, out of nowhere he'll run off, grab a mob, bring it back, but once it's killed he'll just sit his ass down and not do anything else, even though there are still tons of mobs. What could I possibly be doing wrong? Thanks for any assist.

howdy Hummongous.

it is usually a settings issue

did you also adjust your zradius, or your pulllevels, or groupwatch?

from the FAQ
Q. Why am I Not Pulling XYZ mob?
A. Not pulling a mob is almost always an issue either with your Navmesh or your pull settings. If you do a /war debugpull on once and it will cycle 1 time and spit out in your mq2 window all the mobs and why you are not pulling them. Compare the output with the mobs you think you should be pulling and it will tell you why. This will notify you if you have no nav path, or out of zradius, or regular radius, or on ignore, etc.

Howdy Sic. Never did anything with the zradius, so I'll give that a go. I was in a "hilly" area, so maybe the mobs were located too low/high in reference to my camp. I left Groupwatch on "Healer" (is that an issue?).

not if you want to groupwatch your healer =D

but yes, the default zradius is small. so if you want a larger zradius, you should adjust it

that debug output will tell you why it isn't pulling something as mentioned above

You're the man. Thanks for the info, brother. :)

I've looked things over and can't find what I'm looking for. Is there a toggle that prevents the warrior from autospamming his bellow line? I don't really care about taunt, albeit it would be nice to only use it when I don't have agro. Playing on Riz, so not sure if that has an effect.
Thanks

the timer 9 ability line we call "provoke" (provoke, bellow, berate, etc)?

it is one of the "if i am tanking" abilities - so we use it when we're tanking when it is available to be used

if you don't want to do tanking abilities including the provoke line or taunting etc, you can a: not be in a tank mode and b: not be assigned main tank in the group window.
(in case this chart is handy)
1634603711125.png

but other than that, if we're tanking and we have tanking abilities we can use to our benefit, we're going to use them. There's no way to turn that off other than not be in a state that would use it

EQ did an emergency patch and pushed a new .exe

this means if you patched eq, you will need to wait on a new mq2 / mq "next" build.

the mq2 and next devs know.
redbot knows
I know.

don't panic.

as soon as a re-build is available they will be updated in their respective places.

You can watch the LIVE Resource > here < to get notified when VV MQ2 is rebuilt

Make sure you run the migrator so all your meshes get moved over. Without meshes your mq2nav won't know what to do

Hello Pharrus,

I moved your mq2war question to the mq2war thread - also, only 1 post is necessary, you don't need to post the same thing multiple times.

I'm not sure who you e-mailed or tried to call @ChatWithThisName did you receive an e-mail or a phone call from Pharrus?

You can see here you purchased MQ2War 12 mo license back on october 20, 2020, and today is october 22, 2021, so it has been a year and two days.
Time flies

Hi Sic

Just bought the MQ2War from forum, but I can't load it in MQNext, I can see it in Live list, but not MQNext list.
hi dpanaben.

There is a stickied thread entitled > "Next" Plugin licenses auto-sync every 4 hours < that explains that the next licenses auto-sync every 4 hours, 6 times a day. so between 0 and 4 hours from a purchase or renewal, the server will sync.

So far the plugin has been excellent how ever is there a way to assign a tank to a given extended target slot so they are not trying to compete for agro instead they will pick up other mobs in a raid setting .....

In my head a perfect solution for myself would be a way to have them pick up xtar1 ...xtar2 ...xtar 3 for the 3 warriors i run i drive a pally on the side so not worried about a easy toggle command to assign them a xtar for trash clears then turn it off for named would be amazing

Thanks

no unfortunately there isn't, and as you mentioned, we don't have any plans on doing anything like that at this time.

if you're trying to do something unconventional like that, your best bet would be manual mode, and then a hotkey from your whatever toon you're driving on to tell it to target and start attacking whichever xtarget you want it to be attacking

PMing me the same thing is also not great - because now i'm having two conversations about the same thing.

i am sorry i am unsure of how to command lines to give them specific targets in manual mode is this somthing that can broadcast to them in /bcaa for "named.war" to attack mob in xtar 1-2-3

yup, you would tell that person to target and attack /bct dudebro //multiline ; /target id ${Me.XTarget[2].ID}; /timed 5 /attack

again, they would need to be in manual mode since you're telling it to target something else etc

thats perfect one last question is there a delay in the pluginbetween switching them from assist mode to manual mode

/bct blah //cwtn mode 0 before i run that or a /timed you would recomend

there isn't but probably good to do one.

/bct dudebro //multiline ; /war mode 0; /timed 3 /target id ${Me.XTarget[2].ID}; /timed 5 /attack

now keep in mind, if he's in manual mode and you want him to do tanking stuff (like taunting and defensives) you will need to be assigned group main tank on that character ---> in a tanking mode (4, 7, 8, etc) or assigned group main tank.
