MQ2Shaman

Plugin - MQ2Shaman 3.1.52471.11

That's pretty odd. Never had that happen, nor had any reports of that happening.

Chatted with Sic yesterday in Discord, and he said he'd only received a couple other messages about it. He also said he was not able to replicate the issue.

Not sure what else I can do besides take notes and report.

yeah, we already spoke about this yesterday

its not a "mq2shaman" issue. it is likely an issue due to the way all the plugins share type members, despite not accessing or creating them unless they're the class of the character the plugin matches (which should cover the bases) - which again, we already spoke about. for *you* it is probably related to what you're doing in and around loading shaman - like it is the last character logged in or something. or loading/unloading stuff while paused. not to say that it is your *fault* just that if you're reliably getting *something* to happen repeatedly, then it is likely something specific that is happening with your toon / your setup.

I would also definitely double check your background fps, and ensure you're not set to mind background fps.

I can't replicate the issue so i have no way to know what's wrong or how to fix it.

if you find a way to reliably duplicate it, please PM me, as its not a class plugin-specific issue, but more broad

None of my settings save when i camp so i have to redo the plugin every time i load up EQ. I thought it was because i would /q but it happens even when i do /camp desktop. How do i get my settings to save?

Edit: I just updated the settings and checked the ini to see if the updates were in there and it appears that the plugin is not writing to the ini.

Sounds like you're not issuing the commands with their slash command. This is the first item in the FAQ for all of the plugins, and explained the cwtn ui video.

From the FAQ:
Q. The UI Window Doesn't save my settings?
A. This is intentional. The UI acts as a "hot swap" allowing you to adjust on the fly. If you want to "save" your settings, adjust it with the slash command.

Because of the July 1st weekend double bonus, I restarted a new Shaman. Ran into a problem with Shaman Level 3 Spells "Scale Skin" because missing Reagents "Snake Scales" it non stop sit down and stand up. Very very annoying. Can you limit the search for reagents so it doesn't constantly look for it? or just remove that spell on a spell to use list? Thank you!

that's weird - i'll update - in fact, i'll do a broader update to ensure that oddball spells don't fall through the cracks like that at all. Thanks for bringing this to our attention @jchk

in the mean time you can either go byos, or block the spell on your toons and it won't try and use - sorry for the bother

Awesome Sic, you are the best ! Thank you! how do I block the spell? can you teach me?

absolutely easy.

there's even an example in the FAQ

Q. I don't want the plugin to cast xyz buff on a toon.
A. Any buff you don't want cast upon someone, you would just have that character add it to their blocked buffs.

EQ Menu -> Character -> Blocked Buffs
EQ Menu -> Character -> Blocked Pet Buffs (to add to anyone's pet blocked spells)

to make your life easier you can do a /bcga //blockspell add me 0274 and your whole group will add it

WoW, I didn't even know there is such thing! AWESOME! Thx Sic. Learn something new everyday.

So, for some reason it just started happening the UI isn't showing up with the plugin output, settings, pulling, etc. Normally i can /sha show or /sham show or /reloadui and it brings it up, however, it isn't bringing up the UI for it, it seems all the display for the plugin are in the MQ chat window, so no way to change modes, etc.

You should be able to /shm show and you might have to /reloadui. As far as modes go you should be able to /shm mode 0 or whatever.

Yeah this doesn't work, it still is showing it in the MQ chat window and no seperate mq2shaman window will come up, even with /shm show or /reloadui

please post mq2shaman questions/issues in the mq2shaman thread.

you might need to do a /loadskin default which is what your mq2 window would say if you tried to do a /shm show and you didn't have the ui window available.

however - you've said you are typing /sha or /sham and neither of those things are the class short command for mq2shaman. it has always been /shm.

> here is the commands page < /shm show
This also shows you the commands you can type so you can adjust your mode.

you are likely getting a "That is not a valid command. Please use /help." message typing something that is invalid.
(Obviously /help isn't going to do anything).

Not a big issue, but the plugin seems to want to cast Visionary's Unity (which results in the Pack of the Black Fang buff) each time it's up. The AA is on a two minute timer, so it's not "spamming" it other than once every two minutes. Not a big deal just seems like it's not registering the resulting buff from the AA cast. Not sure if it's trying to group check or if it's the name being different from AA --> buff. Love this plugin, regardless!!

I haven't seen this, but I'll take a look. We did recently change some of our triggered buff checks, and have additional changes for next update, so possibly an issue that is new *and* already fixed, but I'll take a look

In a raid tonight. The plugin would cast roar, which overwrites regen, then it would stop mem regen and then cast that, then stop mem roar and then cast that and just repeat it over and over. It also seems to take total control of what it is targeting when I want it to target something else. Like when splashing I need to target another player who is attacking the mob so I can cast frost which gives me the healing twincast which I then use with splash, but, it keeps trying to force the target to myself which I can not cast frost on myself.

howdy malkill,

There's a mention in the FAQ about using regen if you're 101+, it is recommend to turn useregen off - otherwise, you're going to recast it after every fight like you mentioned. this is because roar kicks off the regen buff since they don't stack - when the fight is over, and you no longer have roar, regen will stack, and since you have useregen on - we're going to cast it.
Q. Shaman keeps recasting Regen line (Talisman of the Enduring)?
A. If you are 101+ you shouldn't have UseRegen on - dicho/dissi/composite overwrites your talisman regen line, which will make you recast your regen buff after every fight.

re: manual targeting - if you want to "manually" play your shaman you should pause the plugin /shm pause on or unload it /plugin mq2shaman unload. it is going to assist off of your MA / RaidMA otherwise to acquire your MA's target to do its job.
We definitely understand how gift/squall works and the plugin handles both already - so if you are trying to manually intervene, you should definitely consider pausing the plugin or unloading it.

We also don't try and cast Gift on ourselves, either, so I'm unsure what you think is happening there, but even if you were assigned group MA (not in raid mode) or Raid MA (in raid mode) you still wouldn't cast gift on yourself. --- For curiosity sake, I went to go and look when I committed the adjustment to ensure we don't cast it upon ourselves - and that was done 7/22/2020 - nearly a year ago, and mq2shaman didn't get added to our "main repo" for pre-release until after 10/20/201, nearly 3 months later.

Thinking about it - I'm curious... it sounds like you might not have had any MA/RAMA set (or possibly yourself - but it still wouldn't try and gift you) - I would definitely just suggest either a: ensuring you have a group MA assigned in your group so you can get targets and GiftDD off of that person, or be in raidmode with a raid assist selected, so you can GiftDD off of that person - and then we'll automagically handle all that squalling goodness and you'll look like a glorious squalling monsterbeast

Not related to the above gift squall question but I have been using this on raids for a long time now and I think is an amazing tip for the raiders.

You will almost always have monumental bigger heal parses and more consistent gift squall combos if you don’t load up your extended target with tanks to heal.

yup 100%, otherwise you're doing extra additional stuff

If i turn on mq2shaman, and i block ferine avatar from all my raid members that I do not want to receive said buff, assuming i'm in raid mode, will my shaman cycle through the available dps and ferine avatar them when the buff is up? Will it buff during combat? And, I have two shamans, will they overwrite each others buff?

same as mentioned in your similar question in the mq2bst thread.

to cast on the raid you have to be in raidmode
we only cast ferine avatar on melee toons, and MA
we only cast ferine avatar during combat
they will not cast if someone already has it, but it is possible they start casting on the same person at the same time.

looked and couldnt find the answer to this question.

Why does my 115 shm (running mq2shm) use the level 101 Responsive Spirit spell instead of the 112 Attentive Spirit spell? Honest question, just curious. had a friend that mains a raid shm ask me why i had the lower level spell buff on

They stack and will almost completely heal groups on AEs.

UseAttentive and UseResponsive. Different things.

like burd said - probably because you have useattentivespirit turned on.

if you don't want to use attentive spirit you can /shm useattentive off

Hey friends,

I've got a new group on Test, hanging out at level 60 for awhile. My shm will usually start a fight by casting Torpor on the warrior, then pretty consistently casts canni, spirit of the jaguar, etc., during battle, leaving my tank to get really low on health before he starts to cast ST heals. All the settings that dictate what health percentages to start different heals are set pretty high. Can someone point me in the direction of a setting I need to change to make the shaman prioritize healing over the others while in combat?

Thanks so much.

mendingma and mendingnotma are for the mending line
hotma and hotnotma are for hots - torpor/halcyon etc.

Question on buffing the group.
Is there a command to buff the group at will? I run a mixture of box toons with real players when they are online.
Thanks.

no, for auto buffing it uses mq2cwtnbuffs so it can check for blocked buffs and such - if you want it to recast a group buff on a non-local person, you'd have to click it off of yourself or another local character - but it won't cast buffs directly otherwise.

There is of course the guild hall buffing - but nothing built-in out-in-the-wild.

We do, however, have plans on finishing and releasing our buff begging plugin which will allow anyone (within settings you choose) to request a buff and then the toon will pause any macro or class plugins (if you want it to pause it), cast the buff on the person, and then unpause and back to normal business. This likely won't be completed and put out until after the full VV move to next, so it may be a while. it works great for now, but only takes spells by name and i haven't included any pre-defined spell groupings or whatnot

Wow, super-fast response, thank you for that.

How does the guildhall buffing work for a group? If I place the bot in guildhall buffing, while in a group, just ask for the buffs in a command?
Never seen guildhall buffing bot work, so not sure how it is initiated.

My apologies if this has been asked before but I don't see it in FAQ and searches haven't popped up any results. Is there a way on TLP to setup a shaman to use a TA for slows rather than the spell?

howdy qwon

TA?

We will use Turgur's Swarm and Turg
Time's Antithesis - the Turgur's slow click from PoTime

Edit - it has zero or near zero recast ability so way faster slowing for resists etc.
ah, no, there is no addclicky for slow specifically, or for debuffing the mob, at least at this time.

it might be a good candidate for an mq2react

To piggy on this request, can we have a toggle to buff while in combat for the avatar line? Aka, in the middle of a boss mob, if shaman is not doing the higher priority spells (heals if turned on, slowing, debuff, etc), and there is a person who's avatar falls off, can he buff while in combat then instead of waiting for combat to end? Also happens for chain pulling while xping when mobs are in camp the entire time.
