It's official.....I'm retarded, and Sic is King. I am going to the local community college now and enrolling in their "Mouse Clicking 101" course. I checked a layer off on my map.

Thanks Sic. I knew it would be something stupid I did.

Lol.

All good man. Happens to all of us, just means you're human.

I fuck up more times a day than most in a week.

Quick question, out of all my CWTNS, for some reason, this paladin one isnt using any combat abilities, all my others are using as needed. I have relogged, rebooted. Any help would rock, thanks!!!

That is pretty unusual.

Can you snip me your combat output?

It *sounds* like you're too far away from the mob or using a weird combat ability window (which MQ relies on)

what mode is it running in?
Mode has nothing to do with combat abilities at all

Everything is the same as my Sk and he uses them all. Paladin will use pureforge, nothing defensive.
Please see >>> Getting Started with CWTN plugins! (Movement, UI Window, Clickies, Pulling, ETC) Check Here First! <<< :)

this is why we have a "how to ask for help" and this is why i sometimes sound like im an asshole. I also asked for a snip of your output so i can see if you do, in fact, have combat abilities firing

using purforge and nothing defensive is not the same as "isnt using any combat abilities," :p

not using defensive stuff, but using an ability we use when tanking and not tanking (when you have no other abilities available) would point to you not being assigned group main tank or in a tanking mode.

my comment earlier about "mode has nothing to do with combat abilities at all" is a "we use combat abilities in all modes, so if you were using > no < combat abilities/discs at all, it would be unrelated to mode

if you're using the repel line, then you're using combat abilities. and we fire that very early in combat, so that'll likely be the easiest one to check for

I have no idea how to do snippets or most things related to pcs haha. Is why I use CWTN, best out there. I will work it out, I watched that and how to set moveback and tried for hours, I just use manual and move them now.

Take an easy screen snip:
  1. Shift+Windows Key+S
  2. Select the area you wish to copy
  3. Control+V to paste it into a forum message
Or print screen and then select the area in win11

Then control-v to paste

Sir Sic, any chance to get the updated awesome valiant spell added to the rotation? Or does it already do this I have a brand new pally with basically no aa im using.

This is from patch notes:

Spells ***

- Paladin - Increased the amount of hate added by all ranks of the Valiant Deflection ability, as well as the additional hate added to the Valiant Healing component. Added Paladin levels to Valiant Healing II and higher. Lowered the casting time. Increased the mana cost so the line is now slightly less efficient than pure heals with similar cast times.

what?

if you mean the "Valiant" line - we've always used it, and it has the current 124 ToB version "valiant defiance"

if you mean something else, you're going to have to use words to describe it

Nah that was it, I just got up my bad. It’s probably something on my end then. My pally wasn’t using it yesterday.

just starting out with pally pluggin, lvl 35, i am wondering if i'm missing a toggle that casts combat innate and pally buffs? only buff it is casing is symbol with toggle on, ac buff reckless str and hp buff type 1's are not being casted at this lvl, i have no blocked spells added on group, doesnt mem or cast them

please make sure to check the "how to ask for help" stuff.

most stuff i know off the top of my head, but for stuff i don't i have to now do a whole bunch of stuff when you could provide more specific information that i can help you with.

you can either reference - "the spell group" that cwtn and i use or the "full name of the spell"

"hey does the paladin cast 'cool buff of sauce' and 'even cooler buff of spaghetti'? i'm level 35 and it only casts 'semi-cool buff of wishing'"

these are the spells that a lvl 35 knows about.

it doesn't look like we are casting the ST Ac spell "Spirit Armor" so that's a problem

what other spells (by name) are you expecting it to use/cast but it is not and i will see if they're something we need to add (some things aren't added on purpose)

mq2paladin has its own discussion thread - you don't need your own.

no we don't memorize yaulp, but if you have an empty slot you can memorize it or byos/byos-custom (if the plugin says we use something we should use it - yaulp is something we use)
holy might is in our "lesson stun" grouping - which is why above i said "should" because we "should" use lesson stun, but alas, we are not. :'( I'll check on that

sounds good:D much appreciated, i'm also noticing lvl 50 spell flame of light ddmagic isnt on the use list? is that due to limited spell gems atthat lvl?

I am playing a paladin starting from scratch. He is still low level (45 atm). When he pulls using puller tank mode, it runs up to the mob and hits it to pull. Is there a way to tell what ability or spell that a CWTN plugin is trying to use to pull? I have searched in the game ui and via searches here and for the life of me, I can't find any info on this other than a post about using arrows in MQ2warrior. Does MQ2paladin use a spell to pull or do I need to be using a bow and running around with arrows?

No there is not.

We use a spell to pull (but you're a bit low for that line off the top of my head), you'll want a bow/arrows.

Even better, you should consider ditching the old style of a camp and use huntertank combined with the rest of your team in chasemode

Thanks, I was thinking it was my level. What line of spells does MQ2paladin use to pull or what skill? I appreciate the advice about hunter tank, but with my shaman's current mana struggle to keep up with healing and buffing, not sure that is a good plan. I am trying to get the settings correct with the shaman in MQ2Shaman, but not quite got em so that the low level avoids being a mana hog.

the "HonorJolt" line starting at 72 with ""Challenge for Honor"" - a stun or damage spell might get you summoned while pulling - bow dmg/threat is pretty low comparatively

this is the mq2paladin thread - if you read over some discussion in the mq2shaman thread you might see some suggestions - i suggest turning off single target slow and malo, and adjust your heal values healingma/healingma - and hopefully you understand that shammies don't get as robust of a toolkit for "solo healing" until they are in their 90s and get reckless and 101+ when they get their progressive spell line --- at 100 they have 3 reckless and can keep up pretty well - before that their role in the game was quite different - more of a support kind of role (slows, debuffs, etc) --- you certainly *can* do it, but it can be challenging, especially as you slowly get higher and higher until you crest over that hump in the 90s

I am new to the plugins...i have been using Kissassist until just recently.
I absolutely love this paly plugin with one exception.
For the life of me I cannot get my paladin to use the Stance Buff line. I do have the box checked.
I am not familiar with BYOS which I will take the time to learn if necessary.
Everything else is working fine I just can't get the paladin to use the Stance Buff.
If I pause and remove Eulogy spell and put the Stance in that slot i have to wait for the timer, then use it. The instant I remove pause then it removes the stance buff and reloads eulogy spell.
I am wondering if others are having issues with Stance not being cast.
I am also wondering if there's a priority in the plugin that has Sustenance of Tunare over the Steely Stance.
For a Pally I'd prefer to get rid of Eulogy and have both Sustenance of Tunare and Stance buff memorized.
It is very rare that I'm fighting undead anymore.

Please see >>> Getting Started with CWTN plugins! (Movement, UI Window, Clickies, Pulling, ETC) Check Here First! <<< :)

Check the byos-custom in the sticky. As long as the plugin says it'll use it, we will.

You sound like you're in a level/aa bracket where we don't memorize it - we memorize it in gem slot 11 at lvl 80 and UF xpac - steely stance is lvl 84, so if you catch up your AAs you should be good

We put "Preservation" line in gem 10 (which you get at lvl 75 in SoF expansion) if you dont have Dicho (Progressive Spell line) - otherwise we put it in gem 12

That would explain it as i am on Oakwynd and we do not have that spell gem available yet in SoD expac.

Is there a way to turn off combat rez?
if you dont want to rez entirely, turn off

/pal UseRez true/false/on/off/0/1 - Do Rezzing.
/pal UseRezStick true/false/on/off/0/1 - Use Rez Stick.

or from the FAQ
Q: I don't want to rez everyone in combat, I swap targets too much.
A: You can use your "GroupWatch" to determine who you want to rez > in combat <. Paladin is the only plugin we use groupwatch outside of pulling, but it is a nice way to not rez people you don't want to rez while in combat. outside of combat we would rez anyone like normal.

if you mean "accepting rezzes" that's mq2rez, we (mq2paladin) don't accept rezzes

Thanks Sic

I truly suck at looking for the info I need, I searched for the answer but didn't see it. Will have to turn it off and manually rez.

you dont want to just utilize your group watch? if you put it self-only, for example, you wouldn't rez others (or yourself) during combat.

It's all good I have it sorted.

My druid pulls agro a bit often on bad pulls and is squishy, so I have macro'd rez on/off and just burn instead.

love the work btw
