MQ2Paladin

Combat Assist MQ2Paladin 2450

Q. How do I load the pal window?
A. /pal show - please see the commands tab for all the commands.

Q. Does this work for all levels?
A. Yes.

Q. Why am I Not Pulling XYZ mob?
A. Not pulling a mob is almost always an issue either with your Navmesh or your pull settings. If you do a /pal debugpull on once and it will cycle 1 time and spit out in your mq2 window all the mobs and why you are not pulling them. Compare the output with the mobs you think you should be pulling and it will tell you why. This will notify you if you have no nav path, or out of zradius, or regular radius, or on ignore, etc.

Q: I don't want to rez everyone in combat, I swap targets too much.
A: You can use your "GroupWatch" to determine who you want to rez > in combat <. Paladin is the only plugin we use groupwatch outside of pulling, but it is a nice way to not rez people you don't want to rez while in combat. outside of combat we would rez anyone like normal.

Q. I appear to be chain casting Brells - or some other spell?
A. There are a few of these buffs that eq/mq reports stack that do not or will chain overwrite other buffs and you get into a buffing contest with another toon. You either have this situation or some other issues. I would suggest checking for the red error text that eq gives you to tell you WHY it didn't successfully take hold and then go from there. You can block anything you don't want cast. This is a built-in EverQuest feature - right-click on the buff and "add this spell to list of blocked spells" or go through the eq menu -> character -> blocked buffs

EQ Menu -> Character -> Blocked Buffs
EQ Menu -> Character -> Blocked Pet Buffs (to add to anyone's pet blocked spells)

/blockspell add me id
/blockspell add pet id

You can also turn off using brells /pal usebrells off

Q. I don't want the plugin to cast xyz buff on a toon.
A. Any buff you don't want cast upon someone, you would just have that character add it to their blocked buffs.

EQ Menu -> Character -> Blocked Buffs
EQ Menu -> Character -> Blocked Pet Buffs (to add to anyone's pet blocked spells)

/blockspell add me id
/blockspell add pet id

Q. Why does my bst keep recasting Spiritual V line on my pal?
A. I explain this in the mq2cleric video > HERE < (Yaulp is the same for pal and cleric). TL;DR - Spiritual V doesn't stack with yaulp, so when yaulp fades, if you don't have the spiritual V line blocked on your pal, your bst will say "oh snap, my pal needs spiritual V" and then when pal uses yaulp, it will overwrite spiritual V - then when it fades we rinse and repeat.

Q. Do I need to assign what Xtargets to watch for XTargetHealing?
A. Nope - Just toggle on UseXTargetHealing and it will check all your Extended Targets to see if they are PCs and then heal them at the respective nonMA heal value.

Q. Do I need to assign what Xtargets to watch for XTargetBuffing?
A. Nope - Just toggle on UseXTargetBuffing and it will check all your Extended Targets to see if they are PCs and then buff them (they still need to be running mq2cwtnbuffs and be local).

Q. I am not curing my xtargets?
A: Just like buffing - toggle on UseXTargetHealing and it will check all your Extended Targets to see if they are PCs and then cure them.

Q. I keep aggroing quest mobs WTF?!
A. You are likely using UseBlessing and then receiving a heal. I explain this in the eskay video (similar here for pally, but Blessing instead of Disruption) - turn off UseBlessing

Q: Are there pre-made loadouts?
A: Good question, there was *going* to be, but it was mainly niche or *very* specific. And due to the vast options that Paladins are equipped with, even if there were additional pre-made loadouts, they likely wouldn't meet the needs outside of the base setup-options anyhow. Instead, there are some options like MemSplash. You can always byos/byos-custom to load things the plugin knows how to use.

Q: Yes we know about some "sploits" with buffs/AAs/threat.
A: No, we're not doing that.

Q: Holyforge?
A: Holyforge is currently (fall 2022) working on non-undead mobs, despite being an undead-only ability. We currently don't use this at all because it is an active disc. We may look into adding this if all other discs are down.

Q: I want you to duel a sk/necro before a fight, then get undead buff up to then do massive damage on an undead mob like Zlanidcar.
A: No.

Q: Some of our heals, like Soothing Tough, allow for "target of target", but we're switching target to cast
A: Yes this is a known thing on the TODO list.

Q: AA Timer Two?
A: paladins have 3 "timer 2" aas
-
disruptive persecution, divine stun, and force of disruption
-- force of disruption is 24k threat and interrupt - this has no cast time and doesn't cost mana, so we will use on cooldown
--
divine stun is 6k hate and stun - this has no cast time and doesn't cost mana, so we will use on cooldown
--
disruptive persecution is 60k dmg and 7k threat - this costs mana and has a cast time, so we only use to refresh yaulp

- FoD for more threat and interrupts
- DP for dmg and less spam
- DS for more stun

Q: My paladin is using the Penitence line over the Armor line?
A: You can turn off usage of the Penitence line for the armor line with /pal UsePenitence off

Q. Sometimes a mob keeps hitting me but i don't engage? Ex. Dracoliches
A. This means you need to make your campradius bigger, as the mob is likely a "large" model mob and is hitting you from outside your campradius.

Q: Epic 1.0/1.5/2.0?

A: We automatically use the 1.5/2.0 as part of our defensive tanking routine.
