it should - but same as pull ability - we don't wander around looking for a sweet spot, we nav to the mob, and if we get los on the way we use it.
there's about 0 reasons to disable pull ability for shd/pal

well when I have disable pull ability set it still uses the pull ability and not meelee or range thats all.
but thank you

Certain UI elements go missing on my paladin but it doesnt happen with my other characters and I'm using the shm, bst and ber plugins.

sounds like you are trying to display too many elements.

everquest itself has this limit.

try turning off your labels on your maps, or close your map window.

doesn't have anything to do with mq2paladin other than mq2paladin is trying to display items but you are past the limit

level 85 and won't mem anything in the 12 spell gem after buying it with AA.
Yep, correct,

later that ends up being where your preservation goes (but sub 101 you don't have your progressive class spell yet), or ForceT4 (which gets moved when you hit 87).

but yes, working as intended.

you can slap anything in there you want that the plugin says it uses, and it'll use it

So I ran into an interesting issue regarding that 12th spell gem. I have a lvl 85 paladin and recently switched to a BYOS setup which works as expected. However there is an odd thing that happens where if I try to put Aurora into the 12th slot and turn on BYOS custom it will unmem that spell and put in a Wave spell instead.

I was under the impression BYOS custom would only unmem spells for buffs and then put your custom spell back in the slot after done buffing. Is this a bug or just an expected behavior with BYOS? It's my first time using BYOS as I've stuck to stock setups for the first couple of months of using these plugins (which are great btw!)

byos custom only overmemorizes gem slots that a custom hasn't been set for.

for this to happen it means you didn't set your custom

Would implementing a "Keep Marr's Salvation up" toggle/just keeping it up be in the cards? It's nice during burns, but just takes far too long to cast after engaging so I've been keeping it up manually. (Also helps with ranger ripping aggro at the start of regular fights with poison arrow etc crits - which isn't a big deal in itself, he hasn't been gibbed yet)

Hrm, we'll give it some thought - since it lasts twice the length of reuse, and we already have an option to use it (and click it off on ourselves if were the tank) it kind of makes sense to keep it up fulltime if we have it turned on to use the thing (even outside of burns). we'll give it a look/thought

It seems that my Pally does not honor "disable pull ability" and continues to pull with Petition for Honor. Anything special you need to set there? I have no pull item or ranged weap.

Two small issues I've noticed, one is easy to replicate, the other is not as easy.

As a lvl 85 Paladin:
1) After a death the plugin will continuously try to rebuff with spells (such as the Aegolism line) when it has no mana. This causes it to just stand and do nothing instead of sitting to gain rested regen which would give it enough mana to cast the spell in a couple ticks. Standing is significantly slower regen when out of combat. You cannot manually sit since it will keep standing to cast unless you pause the plugin. This is minor but just something I've noticed.
2) Unrelated but similar category of problem - I am using a BYOS custom setup and occasionally when it sits down to switch a spell gem to rebuff something it will get stuck in the book with an empty progress bar and will not ever move or stand up again without manual closing of the book/standing. After that it usually will try again and succeed since this is a rare occurance. This may be an EQ bug and not a plugin bug but thought I'd mention it.

Other than this, the plugin has been working great! I have noticed it never uses gift of life or hand of piety AAs. Is there a reason for this? I often manually pilot the paladin anyway but it seems like especially the gift of life could be used as a sort of mini-LoH at low health to prevent a death/wipe. Just an observation!

One of the things I love about Merc Tanks, is they'll pull aggro off of all your characters without needing to manage this. I've used MQ2Paladin for about 6 hours and whenever my cleric is getting hit my paladin does not react to it. Is there a setting I'm missing? Am I TOO lazy? Thanks!

either a: swap targets, you're not target locked, and/or b: where's your CC at?

this is attended boxing software, so we assume a level of involvement - unlike some other automations you're not locked to a target, so if you need to change targets, change targets.
willy nilly swapping around targets to aggro could/would screw up someone trying to CC or root or otherwise handle CC duties, so we assume it is being handled.

you didn't mention what level you were, but splash is an incredible amount of aoe aggro, and while completely overkill from a healing perspective, it is OP AF for aoe threat i suggest using it.

1. we check spells to see how much mana you need to cast before we cast them. so that's pretty unusual

2. I would ensure you're using framelimiter and not otherwise throttling your resources

we do use gift of life (as an emergency group heal) and hand of piety (also as an emergency group heal)

I've noticed the buff issue sometimes on my cleric as well. The UI and the actual server tick for refreshes seems out of sync sometimes. So I'll get a tick of regen in the UI, clr stnds up to buff, but then the mana ticks back down and the cleric doesn't have enough to buff.

First off, ty for time and dedication into making MQ2Paladin it has been fantastic to use. Now for the nitty gritty. Have had 1 common error the last week or so involving the spell book freezing upon buffing. Also as of today Puller Tank is not working for me, 3/4 hours of troubleshooting have not gone well and unfruitful. Tank refuses to leave camp, in the event a mob aggro or a force pull he will not return to camp.

800 Pull radius
200 Pull ZHigh/Low
360 Pull Arc

Group watch does not affect tried as well and pull lvl is between 1-254

Update:
This was for zone : Gnome Memorial Mountain, upon moving to Maiden's Eye the problem has seemed to have disappeared. Any suggestions as to what may have been causing these issues would be of great use.

well as mentioned in the PM you sent - did you check the FAQ and do the debugpull? it would tell you.

/pal debugpull on once

I imagine you had an issue with your mesh where you were location and weren't not able to navitate to any mobs - GMM is a notoriously bad zone for mesh issues.

You could be very right i did a debug on pull and it didn't work, shame GMM was a very good farm zone

MQ2Grind had a mesh it was tested on for GMM that ive heard is pretty good. Hytiek was going to upload to the maps repo, not sure if thats happened, he did also post it in the Grind thread.

Not saying it will solve your issue, just something to check out.

I apologize if this is the wrong place to post this, I'm still very new to Redguides.

I've been boxing a 120 BST and 116 Bard and I really want to add a Pally to round out my team. I have a 112sk but it's on the same account as the BST and I really want to keep the BST. My hope/plan would be to start a Pally boosted to 100 and main focus that character. Both Beast and Bard will be on Kissassist, although I may eventually move BST to MQ2Beastlord as well, but not to start.

  1. With me being new to Pally, would it be beneficial to purchase the MQ2Paladin Plugin?
  2. My understanding is that I can still control the Pally, but maybe the plugin will help me manage buffs, gems and in a way lead me in learning the class and make up for my ignorance. Is this a fair assumption?
  3. Will MQ2Paladin allow for Pulling automation if I need it occasionally? (Also attacking after the pull).
  4. My last question is, I don't want to be 100 for very long, the sooner I can get to 115 the better. I don't love running around doing progression for little bits of exp. With my current set up, where would you recommend I work the Pally up? GMM? GMM instance on rinse repeat (don't open chest)?
  5. Random question, is there a way i could tell Bard to invis everyone in group, without tabbing over to the Bard?

I appreciate all the help. Again please forgive my ignorance about this program, which so far has really improved my overall enjoyment of EverQuest.

I use MQ2ESKay for my main tank in my group. You will still have control as long as you use the correct mode.

You should be able to power-level your new Paladin with the level 112 Shadowknight in a day or two to level 90. Then, you can group with the Beastlord up to 120. If you're already boxing, you might as well create a complete group with plugins and KISS; it's better than using mercenaries and not any more complicated.

As far as hotkeys go, you can manage bard invisibility and many other group commands from the main character using Sic's Hotkey guide, available at https://www.redguides.com/community/resources/sics-hotkeys.1150/

I can not say enough good things about MQ2pal. I use a Paladin as my main driver/tank and it works great. Handles buffs and pulling no problem. You can send commands to other boxes with DanNet and hotkeys.

The largest reason thats keeping me from filling out the whole group is traveling to each camp. Is there any easy way I can make all the characters zone behind the main im driving so i don't have to tab over and zone each one? Also, the Pally would be a 100 boost, so i wouldn't need to PL it with SK

1. Almost definitely. If you want to learn the class you can sit and watch what it does to know what you need to do, or just read the plugin output afterward.
2. Yep you can do this.
3. Yep, there's a puller tank mode that does exactly this, though it probably won't do advanced things like paci-pulling if that's what you're asking about. (I don't have mq2paladin so I can't say for sure, but I have other cwtn plugins and the pulling is basic, but gets the job done for sure).
4. General answer is wherever you can kill the fastest. When I'm PLing, I like to do Kor-Sha Lab since it's easy and indoor xp bonus (assuming that's a thing still). It slows down dramatically around 108 though and that's when I typically move to ToV, but you might prefer something like Sathir's Tomb.
5. I don't know the dannet equivalent, but /bct <bard_name> //alt act <shauri's aa #>

The paid plugins are worth the money. Just makes setup so very easy. I run with my paladin on manual mode and all you have to is move and turn on autoattack and the pally will do the rest. I dont main a pally and have no idea how to play one but when its on mQ2paladin , my paladin rocks. I am really liking the new ui changes. I cant wait til every class has a cwtn plugin available.

So the Pally is in your group, handling the tanking? What are you maining? I've considered actually maining my bard and having my BST + (whatever I decide) be more automated.

He is in my second group but yes he is the main tank.,. I MAIN a wizard. and warrior is my first tank. He is 110 with frostbound gear and he has no probs tanking griklor or the t1 tov zones. I almost always play the tank but not that hard to put in tank mode with the plugin and pull mobs to him.

MQ2EasyFind is the solution to moving your group. My point was Its not really worth the money to do a heroic when its so easy to pl and the heroic gear is junk.

you'll have a much better time running a group operating driving from the tank. I drove from my necro main for a long time - but driving from the tank makes it possible to do a lot of things you just can't driving from another toon.

It is really worth trying to get used to doing that out the gate

SIc has a video just about moving toons. . I would watch all of his videos. They are really helpful getting started.
